better than a hurricane, tornado, wild fire or mudslide...
Well said.
It happens . My loved one died in the blizzard of '77. Very sad. His heart wasn't strong enough to clear heavy snow.
♥️ You are never alone.
Love and prayers unto you for strength.
♥️☝️♥️✝️♥️😇
Same as 2014 lake effect storm - I was in Erie PA shopping and had to drive home a few days after. 8 years exactly to the day.
That was just a pinch of what HAARP can do.
Wait! You drove home a few days after?!
😮😮😮😮

No school! Snow days! 😁
I use to love it when I was a child living in N.E. Ohio.
how about job? no job to for people?
Because of online classes, snow days are going the way of the dinosaur. They don't have them in Chicago anymore.
Online classes= no fun for the kids :(
Yeah winters were like this when I was a kid.
As a Texan this just looks so insane but I'd still like to experience snow some day.
Its cool
No, you don't!!!
didnt you guys have a really bad snowstorm a couple years ago that knocked out the power and killed a bunch of people?
@@GodEnderX It was more of an ice over where I live. Everything was just frozen solid from sleet.
Come on up! It's a good time! Especially if you get a chance to snowmobile here, lot's of trails!
Love Katie's snow white eyebrows.
I wish they could send us at least a few inches! So beautiful! But wouldn’t want that much.
Here in Windsor Ontario we never get storms like this. I think we only got around 30cms all winter last year. Hope this year we get more.
was gonna say this lol😂...lucky us
December 23, 2022 we got one like this. Chatham-Kent got hit hard. I remember it.
In Orchard Park, about 20 minutes south of downtown Buffalo, it was just reported at 36 inches on the ground...
36 inches? really?
Hmmm weather network says 12 inches... seems more likely
😮
4 FEET IN ORCHARD PARK, 3 FEET IN SOUTH BUFFALO
@@pjblake1969 That's like what? 90cms?
Thank's for enduring the snow storm Katie !! I think I would of used my hood on my jacket though...
Great job updating us !!
Thanks again !!
Yea, I think she is smart enough to wear a hood when she is not live on the air.
I grew up in Erie...the storms are a real reason...why I moved away...almost 4 years!!!
Where did you move to?
I love winter snow. The more the better.
@@greg2976 OUT WEST!!!
Odis Hamilton I grew up in Erie and moved West too, but I really miss the storms. Good windstorms here though!
Colossians 1:16
16 For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him.
I lived in that area for many years. So far this is nothing. I often see drastic statements by reporters and then notice that the snow is only 4 to 6 inches above the ground next to buildings, fire hydrants etc. The higher areas of snow are just snow drifts from blowing snow.
NO TWITTER FOR 48 HOURS???? OHHHHH…THE HUMANITY!!!😱😭😢

🤣🤣🤣🤣 this reporter is ......🤣🤣 the snow act is hilarious 😂
Oh bummer! It’s been a beautiful sunny week in the Fraser Valley of BC.
Snow days lmao this is just a Wednesday in Saskatchewan and I haven't even heard of a snow day here in 40 years
As I mentioned in another post the Tug Hill area which is east of lake Ontario can get over 400 inches in a season. I doubt you get that much. I am a Canadien living in northern New York State. And houses in tug hill have doors on the second floor so that you can get out of the house.
i remember the great storm of '78 very well. in some of our Niagara regions the snow reached the top of telephone poles. so this isnt so bad.
I recall it as in 1977 around noon and we were sent home, but I couldnt get home to Hamburg. Had to stay with strangers in S. Bflo. Glad I live in Virginia now!
Thank God for climate change it could have been far worse.
google The Great Storm of 1978 . it stretched from Ohio to all the Great Lake states and Lower Canada. the National Weather Service has lots of info on it. this storm is nothing in comparison.
I remember that storm too, it was crazy, they made a book at the Free Press here and sold them,
I was a young teenager but i remember it very well.
Nice sunny day in Toronto.
You could see the snow squalls across the lake.
What's so essential about Twitter?
I've never had it and I don't need it!
Thanks for sharing that info Kirk
I mean, this is pretty normal for the area and this time of year. It is more than usual sure, but if you live near the Great Lakes..... you get this from time to time.
Nowhere did they say this a once-in-a-lifetime event

Wow! praying for those lost their electric
Do not care about them they voted democrats like hocule in for governor u All deserve it f NY state
Are you actually though? Like, are you down on your knees and praying?
Why is there a nitwit using a snow blower near the church? Is anyone actually expected to attend service?
Perhaps it is a requirement to keep exits/entrances passable for fire safety reasons. Where I live I know that factories and public buildings must remove snow from outside fire exits all around their buildings.
It's called 'snow removal management'. As you could see the guy with the snowblower was already having a hard time with that amount of snow. If you wait until the end of the storm that machine would be useless. You have to keep up with removal so you have a manageable amount each time you go out.
Work is about to be booming for us dump truck drivers 🥳
Don´t you use Hamradio in emergency situations ??? Only Twitter and Facebook ??

I remember storms like this always seem to happen on the south side of Lake Ontario. Known as lake effect. I don't recall storms nearly this bad in the GTA
Toronto had a record snowfalls in 2017 and 2022.
@@RideAcrossTheRiver Vaguely remember 2017 but 2022 crippled the city for a few days similar to this one in Buffalo. Not sure what OP was saying. We've had a few doozies of our own.
Actually Buffalo and the "snowy parts" of New York State get their snow due to westerly wind off Lake Erie. Saturated air moving westerly across 200 miles of Lake Erie, slamming into the colder land and elevation of southern Buffalo and surrounding area.
@@keithball6480 When was the last time Erie froze over?
@@keithball6480 NASA: "Three times in the past half century Lake Erie reached 100 percent ice cover: 1978, 1979, and 1996."
Back in like 85, I got caught in a record breaking lake effect snow storm. I was talking to another truck driver who was from the area. He looked out to the west and hurriedly said “ come on, we have to go now, or be stuck here for maybe days “ ! By the time we got on the big road, it was coming down so fast and heavy that my wipers kept getting stuck. Within literally mins, it was measured in feet, not inches. There was only one lane, and the big trucks could barely keep it passable. It was between 3 and 4 feet of snow. If you stopped for anything, you couldn’t get started again, and that’s in a semi truck.
Yes i remember i had my son in 85 and 85 to 86 was a year for tons of snow, everyday i had to
shovel and shovel so my husband could get in
the driveway after work. We bought a snowblower
that Spring and then the next year we had very
little snow. lol.
Lakes are warm and air is cold so snow belt areas will get lot
And in the meantime, all the politicians are talking about is the economy and money, but not about the average people's problems...

Just curious but why you do people choose to reside in such geographical hell-like zones?
Because thats where their jobs are and their lives, they likely had it their whole lives weather like that,
alot of people can't afford to move.
When damage due to hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, droughts, floods, etc. are the exception rather than the norm, the occasional severe winter storm is a reasonable trade-off.
Regular snow storm,
