  • Despite LeBron James sitting out with a sore ankle, the LA Lakers had a successful first game on the road against the San Antonio Spurs, snagging a 125-121 win. Anthony Davis led all scorers with 35 points to go along with 17 rebounds. Russell Westbrook had his best game as a Laker, finishing with 33 points, 10 rebounds, and 8 assists. Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe react to Russ's dominant performance and break down the Lakers' first road win.

I wish for once Skip goes first and then Shannon gets to reply to his dribble.
It also is sweet that Westbrook took down the Skipless Spurs.
      See Skipless cry. 6:39
See Skipless grovel with a lot of words that basically says, "again, I was wrong with my many clownish simpleton takes." You know, since Skip is one of the biggest Lakers haters around.
Skiyuuuuup, who cares if Spurs were up double digits? Lakers were up too. Crying about Parker and Duncan bla bla bla. What, Parker and Duncan were never up double digits and lost the game? Stop crying. The Lakers won...the end.

Skip isn’t wrong here and that breaks my heart because man it doesn’t matter what Russ does without Lebron. The Lakers need them to play together and it’s not a complicated fix. AD has to play the five to space the floor so Russ can attack. Playing two bigs won’t work with Russ and Bron

      @carlstokes9834 2 года назад +10

Few things, stop focusing on AD at the 5. He can play the 4 or the 5 as the game dictates.
LEBRON HOLDS THE F’NG BALL TOO MUCH!!!! PERIOD!!!
THAT is why Russ can’t get off and when Lebron is in, he’s committed to feeding Melo!!!!!
I don’t like Lebron’s impact on the team any longer, especially when he’s shooting so many 3’s and holding the ball.
AD HAS TO TELL LEBRON, NOT HOWARD, that HE’S THE CAPTAIN!!
When THAT is sorted out, they will play better and win.
Russ is an alpha and eventually he will ASSERT THAT REGARDLESS OF HOW LEBRON FEELS because he can get his own rebounds and go!!
Lebron is passive-aggressive UNTIL you get in his face!
It’s AD that’s going to feel the crunch because he’s passive and would rather take it out on a role player than confront Lebron…….
      Just watch…

Did anyone notice right before that one handed dunk in the 4th, as Russ is bringing it up, AD signals to Russ to take it slow up the court and literally as Russ crosses the half court line, he took off and that monster dunk happened. When Russ came back down the court I immediately looked to see if AD and Russ slaps hands, AD put his hand out and Russ barely slapped it like 'don't tell me to slow it down no more.' I thought that was an interesting sequence in the game.

AD is a big man, it’s a given Russ will have the ball more when it’s just those two on the court. Big men normally have to get in position to make a play with the ball; Russ needs to take a page out D-Wade’s book, learn to cut, make the appropriate pin-downs, and screen-and-roll better. Love Russ, but he got to learn to adapt when the ball isn’t in his hands.

These Lakers can have a big three like when LeBron was in The Heat. Westbrook = Dwade and Davis = Bosh. They just need to establish the right rotation and minutes and get that chemistry going.

“Not so good spurs team”…what do you mean?! We took a Lakers team with 2 superstars to over time and they only won by 4! Why are people saying they aren’t that good?! We’ve been in each and every game so far and it’s been against tough teams!

Because the team isn't good dude. Not because yall don't have superstars, it's because yall don't have an identity and much more. Nobody really has a clue what's gonna happen on that spurs team & they haven't made any noise since kawhi & Aldridge left. Be humble and pray ya get a good draft pick because the teams done dude I'm sorry but GG pop might be retiring soon too so dark days ahead

@@xLamont_ people been saying the Spurs arent good enough since 5 championships ago. They are working on that identity tho so don’t you worry they will end up surprising you in the end. Fans are so used to stacking a team that they can’t appreciate a built team that’s a work in progress. At least 8 of the Spurs players are drafted they are young and will learn don’t be so quick with the “they aren’t good” blanket statements.

I agree that he’s not able to put up numbers like this with LJ and AD on the court but the thing that’s good for the Lakers is , like last night , if Lebron ever needs a game off or is not playing now they have someone to keep them winning games without Lebron. It’s a good thing for them and will help them throughout the season whenever Lebron isn’t playing. I also think since Russ is probably not gonna ever be able to play like this with Lebron and AD on the court they should try and stagger shifts so Lebron , AD, and Russ play together as little as possible . That’s probably their best hope

For as long as LeBron is out this is Russell Muscle's moment of truth if Melo wants to join the offensive party even better, that will make LeBron feel even better, the more rest he get the better he will be without worrying that his team is 🗑without him, forcing him to put on an uniform while still injured
