      Ow echt?
      Grappig, Spectralayers was vroeger van Magix en nu al een tijdje van Steinberg.
      Dat ze spectralayers hebben toegevoegd aan het pakket vind ik wel mooi. Je gaat er iig veel plezier van hebben ;-)

    Hi. Thank You for recording this and helping us out. I'm just trying out trial version and it seems it is not possible to use tools on multiple layers at once, nor on a group. Do you know how to clean up a multi mic recording without doing it one by one on every track ?

    • @audiotoolshed
      @audiotoolshed  4 года назад +2

      Sorry, i dont think it can! You can make a selction of course and then go every track 1 by 1.
      I think if there is a possibility it will be overly complicated, need to dig in for this.

      @@audiotoolshed Thank You very much for confirmation. I decided to purchase RX8 yesterday. It works perfectly with multitrack recordings. Doesn't have those cool manual features which SL has, but for the job I have to do now it is the tool.

    • @audiotoolshed

      @@patrykscelina RX8 is a great package. Voice removal is better in spectralayers ;-) If I need to do some quick and dirty stuff, I uses rx restoration plugins.
      For instance, on every video on my voice, there's a rx mouth declicker as standard.

    I am SO SORRY for ALL of my spectralayers questions. I really thank you for your patience.
    Here are two more:
    1.) Can spectralayers remove delay & reverb from core vocals?
    2.) If so, would you please be so kind as to make a tutorial, Brother?

    • @audiotoolshed
      @audiotoolshed  4 года назад +3

      No problem at all! Questions are good. Makes me think too.
      1) to an extend certainly. There's a
      de-reverb and a noise gate and you can draw eq dips
      2) oeoe, well maybe probaby yes! Have to see where it fits the schedule

    I have owned spectral layers for many versions since it was under Sony sound forge, and then later MAGIX. There are many operations that I can do with greater detail than isotope RX7, But now clients start to ask if I have RX8 by name. RX8 Has great AI features and wizards So I will not be purchasing the Steinberg version, and instead I will start using RX8. Thank you for the video

    • @audiotoolshed

      Haha I hope your customers pay you well! If you use cubase11 you will get spectralayers 7 one in the package. The smaller Spectralayers version are really competent too. Btw I use RX too, next to spectralayers. Depends on what is needed for the project.

    how does it compare to Izotope RX7?

    • @audiotoolshed
      @audiotoolshed  4 года назад +4

      There is a lot of overlap for sure, and I use RX restauration in my projects too.
      Izotop RX is an excellent package, no question about that.
      They both have a lot of pros and a few slight cons.
      In a DAW I can run multiple instances of RX in my DAW easily but it always slows down my export a lot.
      Spectralayers has that first step you have to do by enabled the extension first, but you get almost all of the standalone features which in RX you don't.
      It's more about workflow.
      In a daw you can easily slap a rx plugin on a track to do it's thing, with spectralayers you have to do that first extra step and are more likely to stay in that enviroment.
      I I hear a hum on an instrument track i will use rx denoise or dehum to tackle that quickly.
      When I start for instance a mastering session in my DAW, I enable spectralayers and go thorugh the track and check for resonances, clicks pop etc etc because I will go through the track anyway and I can really pinpoint in a VERY detailed way where I need to do some processing and eq-ing and do everything in the same window with that photoshop like workflow.
      With RX you have to go into automation or render certain areas of a track which is also an extra step. And that every time.
      That said, Spectralayers uses destructive editing, so if you decide you need to revert something you have to undo a few steps.
      With RX plugins, when automated, that is of course not an issue.
      The unmix features of spectralayers are better handeled with the audio being split up into a few stems which give you a lot of flexibilty.
      RX has a few more and different functions and algorhythms.
      So yeah I actually use both, but for the bulk of the work it's spectralayers for me.
      Soundwise they are both excellent and the results vary per program with the material.
