Yeah, been supporting a family member who seems depressed. They lost their job in 2021. However, I was working throughout the pandemic. A good day was was when I only had to deal with being screamed at and cussed out 3 times a day. I wish I was kidding. Am I bitter to those who were able to stay home? Yes. Do I think that my family member is being too picky and being a mooch? Also yes. Can I afford to live alone? No

I can’t believe you guys don’t have 500,000 to a million subs lol I just recently found the channel and I watch every single day.. without fail. The bride to be spiking people's drinks has a drinking problem. That's something an alcoholic does cause they feel judged by sober people simply because they themselves are sober. Her complaining to OP that all she talks about is sobriety, even though she doesn't, is another sign of a drinking problem.

I do not agree that the wife who doesn't want to share her inheritance is completely in the wrong. In fact, to my way of thinking everyone in the story is an AH. I think this couple could have easily worked this situation out with a postnup agreement. They could just agree to sell the house in the event of a split and If they have already paid $50 K into the mortgage then agree that money would be split 25% / 75%. Any money that she applies to the mortgage from the inheritance should be added to her 25%. Then they would have a equitable split of the house sales. Her student loans should also be made to be the wife's sole responsibility. That may entice her to be more fiscally responsible instead of blowing her money on $10K purses. However, I strongly disagree that inheritance should be considered "partnership money". When your grandmother leaves you her life savings, she does so with love for you and wants you to be taken care of. She does not want a ex-husband/wife walking away with half of that that gift of love. I understand that the husband freely shares his work bonuses, and she should be sharing her work bonuses as well. But, unless this guy is a CEO for a Fortune 500 company, I highly doubt he is pulling down a 6 digit bonus. Apples and oranges my friends. In the end, they could have solved this problem so they could both be satisfied and secure with their financial decisions.

In addition, over the course of their relationship, he would have easily outspend her insurance easily by a lot even on an average salary, considering how their expenses were split. So your argument concerning the bonuses makes no sense at all. He was all in on the relationship. She isn't. That's all he needs to know ...
I agree that grannies might have left the money for the wife. I'm sure Granny would have wanted her to use said money wisely and not on stupid things like pruses. I'm pretty she she would have wanted OPs wife to at least pay off her student loans. And help with the mortgage. OPs wife, in my opinion, sounds selfish. I would have been happy to pay off my loans and any other bills that were floating around. It's just common sense to me. I guess that bills come first before luxury

In respect to the inheritance, while the cash is hers, her failure to invest in their future would be a massive red flag for me. It seems selish and financially irresponsible. And moronic given that within 1 year, she would have made enough interest to buy a designer purse - just from a savings account. That is potential income she is throwing away.

The first story infuriated me. At first, I was trying to be sympathetic to the husband. Just because I know a lot of these stories sometimes lack context. I was curious to know what kind of job the husband had. I could see a scenario where it would be okay for the husband to take a month to take a “break”.. granted, that doesn’t mean neglecting your family obviously. I definitely don’t agree with that. But it would make sense if the husband had been working the same manual labor job since he was 18 and they both had gotten married young. I can completely understand getting to the point to where you’re burned out and just need a break. But after hearing about him bringing in his mom (that does not have a good relationship with OP) to do housework and not giving an ounce of responsibility.. it made sense as to why his actions were selfish and unacceptable. What INFURIATED me was hearing his bratty Reddit post. Dude is a legit child. He’s one year older than me.. I have 3 kids, work a full time manual labor job, do hair part time, and come home just like OP and do most of the housework. Granted, my husband works his butt off too and he helps me out as well. The only reason I do the majority of the housework is bc I have OCD/ADHD (diagnosed). He tries to help bless his heart… but I just can’t stand not knowing everything is cleaned and organized to perfection. It’s a real problem. Regardless, he still tries.. and that makes a huge difference. Going back to the husbands post, he sounds like a spoiled, lazy, selfish, childish, entitled mamas boy that fully expects his wife to take on his mothers “place”. At least, how his mother obviously raised him anyway.. OP needs to RUN!!! She absolutely needs a divorce ASAP! She needs to file for divorce. If she has to move out until the divorce is over, fine.. but she needs to fight for full custody/ joint primary, the house, and put this man on child support. She really needs to get on it soon. Otherwise, she may get caught in a mess and have to pay this fool alimony since she’s the bread winner at the moment. I hope she can see the light of day soon bc life is so much better for both you, and your child when there’s not a leech there to constantly suck the life out of you.
4:30:50 about "cat allergy": my cousin is allergic to cats too, but it's not specifically their fur, it's their saliva and tears. Cause they lick themselfs clean and you petting them/they loose their hair, this could trigger the allergy. Also there are some breeds (like Russian Blue, Siberian Longhair, Burmese, Balinese or Siamese cats) could've long hair/fur but will cause no, or just really mildly symptoms.

1:04:22 It can take 7 years to pay off a car. A 10 yo car shouldnt be replaced for its age. Student loans have a higher interest rate than you might expect. And paying off the mortgage does save money. Debt is not an asset unles theyre making probably just as much if not more than the inheritance. While spending some on herself is fine, spending the money just for finance charges she doesnt need is irresponsible.

The thing about these post i feel they don't give the whole situation, so i think they need to at lest talk about it and maybe get into therapy before throwing their marriage away. When someone gets married, they are saying through better or worse.
