- I've been dreading this for months now. The licenses in this game are BY FAR the hardest in any GT game. Luckily though, most of the B license isn't so bad.

Ah memories. Had my first rage fit on the tests in GT3. Just went worse from there.
Even the menus are so early 2000s, is hard to describe the feelings I get when I see them and hear the lobby music. Simply takes me back to the evenings after elementary school playing this game
used to stay up all night with the boys on weekends trying to beat licenses. we had notebooks of notes on braking points, shift points and how much curb to take and what not. Never got 100%. Going back thru now to try again.

Fuck B-8 in particular. Took me 3 hours to beat. Even when I watched the demonstration replays, the AI kept hitting the wall and failing lmao

You must've been playing on an emulator right? In the original PS2 version it works normally, but on the emu the driver can't do it haha

Man... I remember being unable to pass B-3 for the life of me. Now I'm an adult and I finally did but damn was it hard.

@@adi96adi all of them lol it just takes so long to get gold. I can do silver easy on everything but gold just takes so damn long and I’m afraid I won’t be able to progress anymore if I don’t get the golds I’ll run out of races
@@rhino5250 yeah, it's no simple task. My advice to you is to rly pay attention to the nuances of the demo ghost. I think some things it does are not represented in the outline thingy

Playing this game for the first time on my modded PS3 super slim on a 2003 Sony Trinitron 27” with component cables. I don’t know why I skipped this game along with GT4... I remember playing GT1 and GT2 then about a decade and a half later just went straight into 5 and 6. I’m glad I’m playing through these now they are masterpieces. B8 is currently kicking my ass BTW. Great video!

Gran Turismo 3 probably has the hardest B License in the series next to Gran Turismo 1.
What about gran turismo 2 or 4 are those just as hard as this one? I’m about to quit gt3 because it’s so hard but I do have gt4 to fall back on if I can’t progress any more
@@rhino5250 I think overall, Gran Turismo 1 and 3 had the hardest license tests in the series. Gran Turismo 2 and 4 did have some hard license tests here and there, but I don’t really think they were anywhere near brutal as Gran Turismo 3's tests.
@@xxdeadchannelxx this does make me feel better about attempting it my only worry is being locked out of completing the game I don’t need every single prize car and I heard that you can still buy them all if you don’t win them
3 was just unfair making us drive that damn gtr on trial mountain even tho we're not racing at that level yet🤦♂️ and then the goal for bronze was 46 sec and the goal for gold was 43 like tf its literally my first time driving 4wd and i literally gotta drive that thing

Fucking hell, I have to pay a quarter of my paycheck to play this masterpiece
I just go with emulation. It runs flawless on my PC and it upscales it to 1080p, looking better than it ever did on the original console. Being able to use any controller I want (like a dualshock 4) is a plus
My hardest test is B-7 and 8
B 7 is when I drive MR2 of Toyota, the first two turns are quite simple for speed, but the time is very stupid. Even when I tried in 1st person, still didn’t manage to get gold. B 8 is when I drive R32 Skyline of Nissan, (no one barely drives this car anymore) the turns before entering the first tunnel is slowing me down the most, the last turn I still go wide, but don’t how to go in for the last turn.
Fact + My Opinion: I’m mad about this because on GT4 on A test, this is the exact same test, but in different color. I’ve been doing it over 14 hours because how struggling it is on GT4. But on GT3? It’s even worse.
I'm playing through B-7 right now and it's near impossible. When I feel like I have a good run I still end up a third of a second too late.
Can't even get bronze on B-5. This is the hardest game I've ever played

After that The Endurance Races with a hired driver became a dream come true..... As long as my sisters or my mom didnt cut off the game while I was away.

I don't know why but never played A-spec. The last memories I have of it are watching some friends play it and then we watched the Matrix on tv that someone rented. Shows you how old we're getting :(. But so far your video has helped me that S2000 part was so hard. Right now i'm stuck on the damn Miata part @ 7:27. The ghost car always gets in my way too on the first corner so losing time there I think arg!.

These tests used to piss me off. Now I see why more ppl like Forza better than Gran Turismo.
Oh Sweet memories! (and a bad one too, my favorite nikes were stolen from my home from a student at my school bridgeport alt) however i never collected all 624 cars in the game (and i really really wanted too!!!) but i did manage to tune a dodge viper into a 223mph supercar. To bad I only seen Top Speed on the test track. Oh how I loved that starter Mazda Miata! Spamming sunday cup races paid for everything I needed. HA!

I got a 42.899 and I can’t get past it it’s impossible
because PAL and NTSC versions have different requirement for gold, silver and bronze times

Did you just straight up do each of these on your first try....? i've been failing over and over for hours
The start-stop tests are really annoying due to having to stop at THE EXACT right moments, Deep Forest's and Grand Valley's hairpin is pretty ridiculous as well, RWD cars get through it much better than FWD cars, B-7 is alright but there's B-8, Probably the most annoying of this game's B license

i never could stand it because it's very poorly made to annoy the hell out of players and nothing else with their licenses which you must do if you want to play all the races
