  • Hello, I'm Constantinos! Apart from pretending to drive fast, I also have created the Lovely Dashboard & Pit Wall, which you can spot in my streams. I also collect DDU's, and often unbox them on my live streams... because, why not?!
    Today I'm looking at the Sim Racing Addict 10.5 5" DDU. A very well built 3D Printed DDU with a surprisingly awesome magnetic mount.

    Just recently bought that and loving the magnetic system and big screen!

    I have this DDU and rate it very highly, add the DNR led profiles and it's close to perfect

      I was really impressed by the craftsmanship. You don’t really see that in a 3D printed device.

    • @Photosbykev1
      @Photosbykev1 2 месяца назад +1

      @LovelySimRacing agreed. I'm not sure the mag mount would survive on a motion rig but they are more than adequate for static rigs.

    I have that same DDU and I could not be happier, it's top at all levels, but being manufactured with 3D printing makes it's price not as expensive as others, such as SimcCore, SIMUTEC, SOELPEC or GRID. And in terms of quantity and quality of the LEDs I think it is the most complete without counting the AlphatecRacing one.

      My first ever DDU was 3D printed. I had done some extensive research and found a DDU that was 3D printed, thus affordable, but also treated in a way that did not look 3D printed. I’m not a fan of the DIY look, but it is a big factor in keeping prices low… as I’ve said in other posts, the technology inside is essentially the same though,so it all is a very subjective topic.

    Was really looking at picking this up versus the other high end name brand ones, obviously more expensive. Thanks

      I’ve only got this one because the reviews were great. By adding the AWTRIX firmware it basically does so much.

    I just recently got a psr ddu and once I downloaded lovely for it I started getting bad stutter and fps drops only in f123 , I’ve tried other default dashes and they seem to work and I’ve even swapped the dash from the ddu to another monitor and it still drops the fps again only in f1 , tried asseto and runs fine

    My dash is a sim racing addict and the magnetic mount is excellent but also it's weakness.
    The plastic snapped after a couple of years, you can buy replacements though.

      The 3D printed aspect is my only concern. Otherwise, this seems like a solid device.

    Would the SimDash and Simutec DDUs be 1 and 2 on your recommendation list? Would Ascher be 3? Trying to decide on DDU for my build.

    • @LovelySimRacing
      @LovelySimRacing  2 месяца назад +2

      I could not decide between SimDash, Simutec and Ascher. Each has its own traits to be honest, but at the end of the day, they are all VoCore - so you’re getting the exact same technology. There are differences in the quality of the PCB (I’m sure Calum from Simutec would agree) but as an end user I’ve never felt any difference.
      I simply cannot put them in any order of preference as I like them all. If you’d ask me to buy only one, I’d go with the SimDash simply because it’s got a better cost/value ratio.

      simdash has everything, usb c, on/off button, aluminum case

  • @chcsmn69

    which is better, addict or simline?

    • @LovelySimRacing
      @LovelySimRacing  10 дней назад +1

      I’m assuming you mean SimDash? If yes, then you really need to compare the devices for what they are. Both have VoCore screens (so expect more or less the same display) but the actual device is of different construction. Addict is 3D printed whereas the SimDash is CNC Aluminium. Personally, I like the SimDash but it really does come down to what you need and want.

    dont like the 3d print finish...glossy material and you can see clearly the layerlines . For such stuff i use carbon infused material ( PLA-CF) and you cant see any lines and it have a matte finish.

    • @LovelySimRacing
      @LovelySimRacing  2 месяца назад

      Yeah, this is what I’m referring to in other comments. But in the other hand, if it keeps costs low, it is a product decision. Many don’t mind… and if it cuts costs, then it has validity.
      I personally prefer Aluminium enclosures, but again that’s personal preference.

      @@LovelySimRacing Honestly i prefer 3d printed housing, because you dont need the strength of an aluminium case and its much cheaper...same as nobody need an official licenced porsche or BMW wheel for several thousands euros.
