In my battery test, Avengers is played back on a loop until the phone runs out of battery. The screen is set to full brightness, and phones are on airplane mode, with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth off. All tests are filmed with new phones that have full battery health.

Pixel has a larger screen, and 33% more pixels. Sure, the iPhone has a smaller battery. But it also charges slower so that doesn't help. And then there is that cutout.

because the image moves. The pixels don't have time to burn because they are constantly displaying something different. But if it can reassure you, I've had oled phones since it exists and the only one on which I noticed a tiny slight minimal bit of image retention was on an 11 pro max. Had an XS Max, a J5 an S22U, a Z Fold 4 and I'm using the 5 since it got out and there never were any image retention whatsoever even though I have aod always on and I leave the same message app opened fullscreen most of the day ! the iphones with aod are known to burn in quicker because the clock doesn't shift around to avoid always using the same diodes all the time !
burnouts only gets caused when it's displays the same thing too long, like for tiktok it can happen for the logos at the bottom but barely in new phones and only after like 10+ hours without changing it or turning it off

Not really true. The bigger phone also has a larger display with higher resolution so more energy spent on the display. Which is the biggest drain on battery.
Maybe not always true, but generally it is. Especially in Apples Worlds. Pro Max has always way better battery lifetime. In Android world the processor or modem can be THE drain. Look at the Pixel series. The bigger Pixel 8 pro has the bigger display but also ltpo. The smaller hasn't ltpo. So they are many factors. Ut bigger phones have more battery capacity and so more potential. If the specs are similar like on iphones the bigger one has and had always the longer battery life. I mean hours more.

The iPhone 15 Pro has a smaller battery compared to the Pixel 8 Pro. But in the real test, Pixel 8 Pro uses slightly more battery than iPhone 15 Pro. But the Pixel 8 Pro lasts slightly a bit longer than the iPhone 15 Pro due to the bigger battery.

Yes it has a better processor and better hardware overall (thats why its more expensive) but if you want a better performing phone at that price you should go for the s24 ultra. And yes the iphone has better hardware than the pixel but lacks on software overall. Software is also mostly what users find more important since most are clueless about hardware.

15 pro has the worst battery life out of the 4 as well. So I'm disappointed with the pixel 8 pro battery life and hope for a massive improvement on the 9
It has a significantly brighter, bigger screen with 33% more pixels to push. If you use energy saving methods like reducing resolution (if you watch a movie you are basically wasting resources here) the pixels last significantly longer…
@@erebostd I miss the days when phones use to last 2 days. I remember having a z3 ten years ago that was a 2 day phone for 2 years before the battery started degrading. The 11 pro max used to give me 2 days too, up until I updated to the new ios in September and it drained my battery so fast. I think the new Sony 1 VI is probably a 2 day phone too and that's the only phone left with micro sd slot and headphone jack. Glad one company kept it all for this long
