My father saved our farm in the 80's during a drought by growing sunflowers in Virginia. We have a family picture in one field, though I don't remember because I was just a baby. It depicts a man proud of his family, with a risk coming to fruition, while he is smiling ear to ear.
I am in California. About 4 years ago I planted my first sunflowers! I enjoy how fast they grow. I also like how the head of the sunflower moves from east to west during the day, before the head gets to big to move anymore. I love sunflowers!

Better of doing that, since who knows what this really means- " the CHS plant at Fargo, N.D., offers state-of-the-art pasteurizations capabilities for its non-roasted sunflower products. CHS is the first sunflower processor to offer the industry-leading Log5 pasteurization technology. This allows CHS to provide a full line of processing services - oil roasted, dry roasted and pasteurized products - to its food company and ingredients customers. “Food safety is number one for everyone, including food companies,” says Tom Malecha, CHS senior vice president, Processing and Food Ingredients. “Because we are owned by the farmers that grow our sunflower seeds, we’ve always been able to assure our customers that our products are direct-from-the-farm fresh. Pasteurization brings an important layer of food safety assurance to customers, especially those using a non-roasted product.”
not sure what type of sunflowers you are growing there,,but I have been growing and my family has been growing sunflowers for more then 30 yrs and I have never seen a sunflower head move. They always face the east and never turn.
