7 years in Tibet is everyones story of how life humbles you. Sometimes, small decisions can turn out to be big life changers. In this movie, Brad Pitt just went on an expedition and got lost forever to his past life and people, meaning sometimes it takes a lot for us to leave behind and sacrifice to leap towards spiritual awakenings. This movie was ahead of its times and is getting its due now.
Such an awesome powerful comment/perspective! I can totally relate to this movie when looking back @ my own humbling challenges/suffering in my Life. Every single person has a Story...
It wasn't Brad Pitt. It was Heinrich Harrer. He didn't go on an expedition. Harrer was escaping imprisonment by the English who had control of India at the time during WWII because he was German. He escaped and was captured and escaped again. He wandered trying to evade capture and his goal was to get to Tibet and because he heard a lot about Lhasa, he wanted to go there. He stayed because they welcomed him and Aufschnaiter and eventually became part of the community. They both brought innovations, education, sports, while learning about Tibetan culture. At times he was homesick. Red China posed a threat. Eventually they had to leave. Any such experience would change a person physically and spiritually. He had no choice but to acquiesce. He did it willingly.
@@123benny4 What do you mean "he didnt go on an expedition?" Harrer was on an expedition in India to climb Nanga Parbat with a small team of German alpinists, that was literally the reason he was in India to begin with when he was captured by the British.
@@RustyShackleford-od1nd I don't contest that. What you said is true. But the initial post says that it was Brad Pitt. Brad Pitt didn't go on an expedition. It was Harrer, like you said.

I was going to say, the trailer really doesn't show you anything about his actual personality in the film. His character development was phenomenal. Trailer makes it look like he was a cool, chill guy throughout the entire thing when he was a total mess.

The music they have playing, I heard it so many times from other 90s trailer movies, but does anyone knows where it originated from? Or is that just a particular piece the promoters play?
I miss these old movie trailers, the narrator has a great voice that really draws you in and the music choice was phenomenal and fits it perfectly.
@Bessie Hillum spot on.
