Use barn doors when dumping big rock. Swing gate is fine for sand and dirt. But u can damage those if u don’t pin them back out of the way. Awesome trailer and cool seeing colab with J.D. 👍👍👍

Solid truck/trailer set up! You can’t go wrong with the front lift... I own a dump trailer with a front lift and there isn’t a struggle no matter how much is loaded
If you're going to be doing any large scale property work, a dump trailer is a must. Just remember to tarp and strap your load when you eventually use it to deliver the massive amounts of osb and drywall that you will eventually need.
That’s NOT how you drop spread that’s gonna dump it. You wanna tail get it with the normal trail gate function but the the gate chained for a small opening
@@FishFind3000 You don't drop spread large rock. What he should have done was opened the barn doors, lifted the bed and drove forward slowly if he wanted to spread the rock. Using the chains on the gate is for spreading small rock, like 3/4" minus for a driveway.
If you want it to keep from rusting, go to the tractor supply company closest to you and get the cheap implement paint that farmers use on the blades and disc of their planters. We also used it on the picking machines heads if they weren't going to be used for a long time.
We certainly do! I'm in Oregon right now because I came for wildland firefighting but I still love and miss me some Texas! YEEHAW!! There is a very noticeable difference up here in state pride.
I can confirm by many many tons that having a dump cylinder in the front is the way to go. As a landscaper for 14 years I have had to shovel probably 100 or more tons of rock and dirt from the front of the trailer to the back just to be able to get it to dump. If you ever have that option when buying one it is well worth it.

They have a Teflon liner for the Semi Trailers they are cut to fit and we use em to help during Icey situations. The Product flys out its not permanent, and its not Rubberized. Check with a Local Semi Trailer Dealer, Great Dane, Utility

Word of advice, if your hauling gravel, sand or dirt, you can dump like you did. If your hauling debris, big rocks, etc, open the doors barn door style so you dont rip them off and the material doesnt get stuck and tweak your door. But def a nice trailer.
Extend the mirrors as well. And probably wouldn't hurt to put some airbags in the back of Earl. Level the ride back off when loaded. Makes the truck handle better.

I'm 36 and I've owned about 15 trailers, currently got 2, a 6x4 canvas covered trailer and a small dog trailer (common here in Australia for dog showers, greyhound racers etc.) both small enough for for 2014 Mazda 3 2.5 litre to tow. Next up will be my 4th car trailer and a new tow vehicle I think

Should use the barn doors for dumping, easier on your tailgate. When you were dumping the tailgate was being wedged against the rocks. I have the same trailer minus the spreader tail gate. So far I’ve hauled over 200 tons lime rock in southern Florida, love the trailer.
Bought the only thing left is the shock style gooseneck hook up so up don't feel every hard bump with the load, try one and never go without one agai! Your getting better Matt, I'm starting to like this channel for real. Course don't tell Mear!

I loved this video....I am an old 53 year old female, who knits and crochets and makes cup cakes....ha ha ha .... I am so jealie gee never knew I liked trailers so much either...shame before the rocks went inside and scratched up all the trailer that the kiddoes couldn't use it first as a Slide, can you imagine the hydraulics lifting the bed up on the angle, water and dishwashing liquid and some oil with the kids holding on until they can't and they slide off the trailer bed into the swimming pool....lol....Best Water Slide of all time....

I have one of those Texas pride dump trailers and it is great! I have loaded mine down with a ton of weight and it did great!!
