Hi folks, here is part 28 of my EXTREME PLAYTHROUGH of Days Gone. I hope you all enjoy the video.

When you got the explosive bolt I was, "Ok that's it! That is as good as it gets. He's now ready for the south!" The rest of the run is gonna be super exciting, I just know it! I'm glad to see you making use of the melee weapon and saving your ammo. And like you said, you do know all the spots that particular weapon is hiding throughout the area. Rock on teach! Let the good times roll...and the freaker heads. LMAO

nah, you still have a few advantages to get -- primarily some nitrous and a bigger gas tank xD
I suppose I can go a bit faster & drive a bit further, lol. The gas tank is always a welcome one.
I don't know if you've played State of Decay 2 yet but if you haven't, I suggest you give it a try. It's more sandbox than DG and less story driven but it has pretty good mechanics as well as base building. Anyway, that was another terrific episode!

Just your luck , the video pretty well starts with you getting chased by a runner and getting clipped by a crier lol. I wonder if you can get awy from a runner if you use nitrous. Anyhow , I loved the way you used the horde to take out the first camp. We never found out who the last survivor was that kept you from opening the bunker but the horde eventually found him. Good job taking out the last camp as well. Personally I find criers nests more annoying than freakers nests as it is almost impossible to take them out unscathed. I greatly enjoyed this video my friend , see you in the next . Cheers !
My friend, NOTHING gets you away from the Runners. You need to kill them, or get killed for any peace, lol. If you're really lucky, they will attack another target nearby, but that rarely happens with these f^&%£$s. Working on opening up the South map now, and come the end of the next episode, I should have this done FM. Thank you as always for your kind comments mate.

Hey Boris thanks for another vid. That ambush camp horde always vanishes if you go to the bunker and sleep every time I have done it an I have took that camp out a lot of times. Maybe the head to the coast for some water because two days later they are back. 🤣

Indeed. Wade is a great character at the start. My opinion seriously changes later in the game, but I love Days Gone for this, Bend Studio don't hold back with the storylines.

@@borislav247oh by the way, I just realized you can kill skizzo at the transportation building in iron butte ranch before the betrayal happens. I may just keep killing him over and over and never finish the game again 😂

@@borislav247 I ended up killing him with a Molotov, napalm Molotov, blown up gas can (shot from multiple vantage points including the top of the building and with multiple weapons including incendiary bolt), remote bomb, proximity bomb, explosive bolt, and confusing him with the smoke bomb and letting the freakers get him. I think I actually got it out of my system (or ran out of ideas lol) and finally let him live but I still *really* enjoyed taunting him at Lost Lake after Mike locked him up. (I may have a problem but I just really hate that guy 🤣)
Edit to add: Omg I forgot to mention frag grenade and pipe bomb (and of course with some of those methods I also killed deacon but it was def worth it 😆)

Not sure if you’re aware or not but you can get that same melee weapon during the stop on your ride to meet the Colonel with Kouri. Right after the flashback cutscene, it’s over by the blue truck off the side of the road and you can go grab it at that point.
Found it by chance on my very first play through of this game.
I know about this location now as a few people have mentioned, but it's all good as get my hands on one near Diamond Lake camp.

Try it, it makes this great game much more intense and the southern region with the hordes is hell.
Personally I only play Survival 2, but Spawnicus Rex likes the Hard 2 difficulty, because it's almost the same, but you can always see the HUD on the screen and you can use fast travel.
If you start an NG+ it is much easier and the videos from Boris are very helpful.
Most people are ML, but there's no shame in that. I just really wanted to test myself & put on a good show at the same time. Thank you for watching my friend.

Same thing happened to me except I was taking the horde during the night. I didn't know that horde comes out even during the day. Anyway they were not able to take the sniper guy on the tower so I had to take him by myself.
Good stuff Jonny. You got the horde to do the heavy work, and just finished off the light stuff at the end. That's called playing clever my friend.

Those Bleachers are real bullet sponges! Does the SAF12 have a better range and damage than the crossbow? I haven't seen you use it much for taking out snipers in this run thorough mate.
Just bad habits for me when it comes to the weapons. I think the crossbow actually does a bit more damage (and has better range) than the SAF 12, but you can fire more shots with the SAF 12, so it's my go to on this playthrough
@@borislav247I just gotta say it again - I hate that muthafuckin gun. 😂 I really appreciated the fully packed crossbow on my play through.
Brilliantly done Boris. I know Taylor's a wrong un, but i do like him. Wish he would shut up sometimes though lol. 🇬🇧
I love hearing his conversations at the start, but later events changed all that for me. A shame, but Bend Studio are more than comfortable to go extreme with the characters.

I’ve just finished my umpteenth playthrough and I’m ready for a new challenge! I was mentioning to Claire in her livestream today that you’ve both inspired me to do an extreme playthrough so I’m going to give it a shot. Not on Survival II though, I need my HUD and I need my fast travel! Lol. I KNOW what the game throws at you at the best of times so it’ll be tough but still fun. Besides, even though I’ve played the game a million times, watching your playthrough I’ve learned so many amazing tips and tricks so how can I go wrong! 😅 Wish me luck 😉 Oh, and on my first playthrough, like you I also walked all the way to the top of the cone to see the Colonel. It wasn’t until later I clued in that I could ride my bike up there. Lol. And I have to admit I chuckled a bit when you had the Runner after you and Criers dive bombing your head. And random marauders ruining your plans. That’s why I love this game so much! Never a dull moment 😀
You won’t regret Violet!!! Even though no fast travel is irritating so much entertaining stuff happens on Survivor 2. You really should give it a shot. Can’t wait to hear your progress which I’m hoping you’ll share on the chat in 8bit or Rex’s streams. I love this community, such a great bunch of folks. 😊

Nice Violet. I don't blame you with Survivor, as it does deny you a lot of good stuff, and fast travel is very handy to have. I wish you all the best Violet, and pray you don't get as much s^%t thrown at you as I seem to be getting on this bloody playthrough, lol. But like you say Violet, never a dull moment. FYI Tak, I have done Survival II playthroughs before, just not “extreme” where I limit perks and weapons etc. But I’m looking forward to the challenge!
Doing the same run through as you. I've found the explosive bolts aren't all that useful. Attractor bombs are the only decent way to take out hordes of any real size and they both use spark igniter and explosive so I save them for that.
Bravo for taking it on. I just finished this run last week. I found the explosive bolts extremely helpful paired with a normal attractor. With the explosive bolts, attractor & attractor bomb taking on the hordes became manageable. Which horde gave you the most challenge? Was Mt Bailey for me.
They aren't quite as deadly as I was hoping them to be, but when the hordes are well bunched up, they do alright. You are correct though, attractor bombs are my best option right now for the hordes.
@@Takwakin40 I agree mate, normal attractors with the E bolts makes for some good quick kills.
On one of my early runs I took out the whole of the Chemult Mission Horde using the explosive arrows from the roof of one of the buildings .. mainly 'cos I was too scared to get any closer lol.
@@FreakerFodder That's not a bad strat, especially when you see how I take them out on this playthrough.
Does the NERO checkpoint at about 23 minutes have a random unmarked horde at least at night time for anyone else? It comes from the tunnel every time.
Yes, it is not an “official” horde, that is, killing them does not count towards the Horde Killer storyline. But that horde does respawn so you can kill them, come back a few days later and they’ll be there again! They’re about 50 strong in size so it’s a good place to farm for Freaker ears if you’re ever running short.
Yes Joe, this is a 40 strong unofficial horde mate, and this horde respawns, so you potentially farm ears from this area in the South.

Want to specify what's annoying you exactly?. Is i my commentary?, is it the subtitles on screen?, or is it something else?. Please elaborate.
@@borislav247 Probably means the cutscenes. For My part I'm glad you have left them in AND don't comment over them. If people don't want to watch them, fine, they can skip the video forward, I mean, it's youtube not broadcast TV!
