This man no live in this world. He's a black angel from the heaven. The all musical members of the Rainbow is a genius, but the Ritchie stand above all of them. It's no music yet. This is a magic ❤😇
I was at this concert back in the summer of 1980 with my brother , who sadly passed away july 2014, when ever I hear this track it brings back memories of the madness, the drink, the bottle fights, no health an safety boffins back then, anything went, it was complete chaos but we loved it, this isn't the best version ever but its the one with the most memories attatched to it,
2:20. OMG! I don't believe out of all my years of watching guitar players. Anybody ever seen a person move their fingers so fast on the Fret? I haven't. Richie is by far the fastest.
Cannot be better compared ! I was in Neunkirchen at my first rainbow concert and Bombed away by Ritchie and Ronnie.... Signifikant Emotionales Erlebnis = FOREVER RAINBOW !
Hi. All i have is in six parts. This was recorded and broadcast on tv in late 1980. I was at this gig and The first track on the night was actually eyes of the world. The editor should have been shot!! I'd love to see the whole thing again in full. It was the first festival i ever went to and was brilliant.
Bonnet was a good singer on the albums he belonged on but this was a Dio song & to him it shall always belong, rip Ronnie & Cozy gone to Catch the Rainbow! \m/
what the heck is ritchie doing in renaissance....i mean, just listen to this, man!!!!! doesn't this just send the nice chills down the spine column?????
I think Bonnet looked badass. It's interesting because Alcatrazz(as you probs know) was Bonnet recapturing the energy and songwriting style he had with Rainbow with Yngwie, who of course is Blackmore's biggest fan. Both bands are great.
Blackmore was at the top of his game in these years 79-81. Too bad they didn't do more with Bonnett. Down to Earth was an incredible album. These guys were all peaking then..... look what Dio did with Sabbath in the same time frame. Win win for music lovers.
I wish I was there..... I saw Rainbow 3rd row for the Straight Between the Eyes tour. Ritchie just has never seemed to lose a step.... even when I saw him in 1997 with new Rainbow he was absolutely amazing..... I do like Dio for this song better but Graham is better on all of his songs.... thanks for the video!!
I like Bonnet, and he has his own style, but I believe he has been known to lose his voice many times in concert. I have never heard of Dio losing his voice, and I must say that I like Dio's singing much better.
@NikkiNecrophiliac666 Don't be upset... I was born in '82. I was stuck too but the heros are still there... making different music but they are mostly alive... Saw Ritchie in 2010 and the best moment was as he got his Strat out ... e is my alltime hero and will be forever...
I was there! Never realised there was video footage though. Remember at some point a plane took off from the nearby airport and it really added to the show. Great day but at times the sound was poor - Judas Priest really suffered with sound probs.
@olebarca99 no the day started with a band called touch, saxon where third on the bill that day second, was a band called riot if i remember right. my friend.... regards steve==}}
@MrXAVIERDB Malmsteen is fast, extremely fast but, in my opinion, lacks the feeling and style.... I was amazed when Satriani filled in for Blackmore in 1993 for Deep Purple.... but Ritchie is still by far my favorite guitarist...... and from 1972 to 1997 never lost a lick.... AMAZING!
@THENITEGHOST Lucky. I was born around the same music died. In the 90's! Now I am stuck around the error of this revolting pop shit. I just wanna get in a time machine and see all of my favourite bands live.
this must have been just as DEEP PURPLE decided to reunite, you can tell by Ritchies mood, its pretty good, USUALLY ALWAYS BAD or PISSED, I think he is sensing change that is near, or that he just likes to play at CASTLES better! lol
Uh sorry, Catch the Rainbow is not made for screaming, the beauty of the song is lost not until Ritchie does an epic solo in the later part. No disrespect but this song doesn't fit graham style...but I could forgive him for doing a great version of Stargazer :)
I actualy don't like the LP down to earth but Graham is a great singer, I think that Rainbow could do something better with a voice like this one, here's a proff of that.
where are people sourcing this from ? I know its don - 1980 ...and i have three tracks on lp from this show ...but where the vision comes from - well, i am curious - was it a bbc broadcast ?
No,no way,never again,this is blasphemy,this Bonnet guy ain't got no heart,Dio's songs must come from within,you have to feel them,and to have the voice to give them to the fans,and he has neither of these.What a shame,great Ritchie,you really let us down,you sold your music for fame and fortune,for the fuckin' radio charts...RIP Ronnie James Dio
ritchie blackmore is a freak of nature, epic solo, best of the best, greatetst of all time !!!
Ne pizdi

wow! lol rip yr brother
The best version of this song is on the live on stage LP
All the songs on it have this unbelievable spirit.
2:20. OMG! I don't believe out of all my years of watching guitar players. Anybody ever seen a person move their fingers so fast on the Fret? I haven't. Richie is by far the fastest.

I was there too. What a great day..! 30 years ago? Scarey - feels like yesterday. Ritchie and the band sereiously rocked...
what a great drummer he was, Cozy ....
Исполняют всегда по-новому композицию!
Как будто в-первый раз! Ипровизация суперски
Bonnet was a good singer on the albums he belonged on but this was a Dio song & to him it shall always belong, rip Ronnie & Cozy gone to Catch the Rainbow! \m/

3:25 ritchie " time to sing man!"
My first gig, and what an impression it made.
Blackmore was at the top of his game in these years 79-81. Too bad they didn't do more with Bonnett. Down to Earth was an incredible album. These guys were all peaking then..... look what Dio did with Sabbath in the same time frame. Win win for music lovers.
long live blackmore he is a rock god
I was there too great memories of this : )
Amazing performance
yep i was there too.. great day! was my first open air festival.. 17 then and 48 now lol
great ritchie
Bonnet seems to be the most accurate of all Rainbow singers
oh yes great Pitch
Great posting!!! Thankyou! Wish I had been there.
I wish I was there..... I saw Rainbow 3rd row for the Straight Between the Eyes tour. RB THe guitar god
Sensacional!!!
Cozy and Dio probably formed a band in Heaven, perhaps with Randy Rhoads on guitar.
what an unbelievable solo!! But still its typical Ritchie.... there will never be a match to the great Man in Black!
Great track. R.I.P. Dio n Cozy \m/\m/
I like Bonnet, and he has his own style, but I believe he has been known to lose his voice many times in concert. I have never heard of Dio losing his voice, and I must say that I like Dio's singing much better.
The best

They edited out the verses because a jet went right overhead and was, gasp, louder than Rainbow! :)
Louder than Ritchie???????
Yep, you can hear it clearly on the bootleg :)
Some fantastic licks in this one...especially 2:47
I was there! Never realised there was video footage though. Remember at some point a plane took off from the nearby airport and it really added to the show.
Great day but at times the sound was poor - Judas Priest really suffered with sound probs.
Yeah, the plane is actually audible during Catch The Rainbow on a bootleg record.
@THENITEGHOST
Me too! long day started by saxon remember them.
True that Dio is needed for this one, but i think Bonnet does a commendable job on this one for at least one show
god I wish i was there
i was there==}}
The man YM will never
@olebarca99 no the day started with a band called touch,

Cozys last show in rainbow. Rest in peace Cozy.

@olebarca99 this is very true my friend and its a sad fact
that we will never see the like again==}}
that was a great book lol
love background keyboard
And after 3:14...superb
I would fucking sell my soul for that kind of guitarplaying... There is no god, only one master who wears BLACK!
q buem video aguante raibow :) ,
THE MAN
Rainbow ... Rocks!
B~..
Glenn is the man. He was awesome live. And for me far better than Roger. Rog is bit from distant age - more like 1920s :D:D:D
well, I believe Bonnet was fired by Ritchie any way, and a moment too soon :)
incredible blackmore
this must have been just as DEEP PURPLE decided to reunite, you can tell by Ritchies mood, its pretty good, USUALLY ALWAYS BAD or PISSED, I think he is sensing change that is near, or that he just likes to play at CASTLES better! lol
Эта песня для Ронни Дио
@THENITEGHOST
Well it was bloody 30 years ago lol
охуенно!!!!!!!!!!
@THENITEGHOST you are lucky
Démoniaque Blackmore
who can tell me which song is this? I know the one catch the rainbow with Dio... which song is this and where I can find it?
Uh sorry, Catch the Rainbow is not made for screaming, the beauty of the song is lost not until Ritchie does an epic solo in the later part. No disrespect but this song doesn't fit graham style...but I could forgive him for doing a great version of Stargazer :)
I actualy don't like the LP down to earth but Graham is a great singer, I think that Rainbow could do something better with a voice like this one, here's a proff of that.
PINCHE RITCHIE ERES UNICO
Not the same without Dio. Long live the King!
Ritchie=Dios
This is fuck great ..
Whats up with the red pants and pink sirt? Looks a little too much like David Bowie for me.
the bass player is Roger Glover ?
Yes definitely Roger Glover
No he didn't. This was written before Airey had anything to do with Rainbow. It was written by Blackmore and Dio in 1975.
where are people sourcing this from ? I know its don - 1980 ...and i have three tracks on lp from this show ...but where the vision comes from - well, i am curious - was it a bbc broadcast ?
And Jon Lord on keyboards.
.. Don Airey.
its like rubber fluid this soloing expandz contracts... speed slows back to main theme goes far to stratsf wow
I do not have anything against Bonet, but Rainbow is not the same without DIO, seems to me that in this time, Richie started destroying Rainbow.
my mum would,nt let me go only 11
@olivermctexas jimmy page?
the answer to that is no he allways said he was not going to sing other peoples dross
What's with all the dio vs bonnet shit, their both great . Why compare?
no one can match him, forget about page and clapton
i mean, fuck, if this isnt one of the best instrumental live tracks?
Even if it's Don Airey?
@NDC147 must have been becos of the drugs XD
@Rorschachxx1985 no,
No,no way,never again,this is blasphemy,this Bonnet guy ain't got no heart,Dio's songs must come from within,you have to feel them,and to have the voice to give them to the fans,and he has neither of these.What a shame,great Ritchie,you really let us down,you sold your music for fame and fortune,for the fuckin' radio charts...RIP Ronnie James Dio
the bollocks.
whos singing?
Hook me up! :D
yeah i know that.... no no no Dio's better :D
roger glover looks like john frusciante(the guitarist from red hot chilli peppers)
@excudebat Graham Bonnet ? Horrible.
