Мне 23 года . Мой Отец очень любил и понимал такую музыку. Deep purple ( ди пурпле как он шутил ), Led zeppelin , Uriah heep , Rainbow . Как я рад что я мне от Отца достался такой вкус правильной музыки. Отец ушел в 2009 , но эта музыка всегда напоминает о тебе. Как жаль что тебя сейчас нету Папа , мы бы с тобой под эту вещь тащились бы , это я сто процентов знаю.

Always hear about led Zeppelin, Queen, rolling stones,pink Floyd, eagles, Eric Clapton this song and stargazer never played on radio not many people talk about this band Raindow this line up and this song is something else and this is the reason that rainbow is among the best bands of rock history.
It's easy to jump on the bandwagon of the groups you mentioned. Rainbow aren't generally put in the same category. To me they are far superior ,and should be played on radio so more people can appreciate them.

Imagine being 15 when first hearing Rainbow, and recognising the fact that from that time on, music would never be the same, it had now entered an era of musicianship the like of which had not been heard or seen before, and knowing that this music would now be a part of your life, inspiration to learn to play, to belong to something so different and special. Watching this now in September 2020 brings back so many memories of the life I’ve lead and the things I’ve done. I love this band. Ritchie Blackmore, for me, is the best of the best. A few of us have been blessed to see some great rock singers live Halford, Mercury, Gillan, Piant etc etc. Dio is the goat, no desrespect to the others but this guy is the best hands down. Its not even close, thanks to You Tube you can see how great this singer really was. As a life long Sabbath fan I couldn't believe it when Ozzy left and Dio took over and then I saw him play with Sabbath in 1980 at the Birmingham Odeon in the UK. This is Sabbath's home town, and boy did they put on a great show with this short singer with the voice of a god. Ozzy's a great front man but Dio has the voice, and Sabbath were crazy to split with Ronnie.

no, he was a very solid one (and solid talent/discipline) but Floor Jansen/Nightwish is BY FAR better (more talent, more versatile, more dimensions, more colors, more styles, more depths, better ability to modify and build, better stage presence etc.). Both are classical trained (Floor has a more modern education as well). Both use good positioning during their live performance (but Dior is more static just like the sound arrangements btw. but that's not a singer criterion). Floor can (translated to a male) everything sing what Dio can and more. The opposite was not possible. One should not forget that Dio is often chosen due to tradition, as legend of being part of a history, his self discipline to take care about his voice (in difference to many other singer of that time - but not in difference to many more modern singer like Floor) ...

Dio is considered as great singer for two reasons: 1. music history/tradition/influence (both have nothing to do with 'great singing' and is btw, often based on certain networks/bubbles where each know each other and backuped both - and the generation grown up with them do the same) and 2. because Dio followed in difference to many other singers back then in this genre the more healthy 'classical voice education'. here is an article (also mentioning him) describing why grunting, screaming and growling can be unhealthy and how to avoid that: www.thenakedvocalist.com/create-vocal-effects/ Dio took care about his voice. Floor also has all this classical singing (but also contemporary) knowledge (actually thats for instance in the US part of a modern singing education. She actually is a vocal coach herself. But while Dio is in reality just a good ad solid singer Floor has more talent. She can sing with much more details, coloring, styles, versatility. She can sing everything Dio can but better - and she can sing more. There are also other ones out who can do better than Dio nowadays - but Floor is also better as them. Except one compares specialized fields. Floor for instance can also sing opera (and all other genres). Here she sing: 'O mio babbino caro' (thats an Aria from a Puccini Opera): ruclips.net/video/UeTyAZtV5wI/видео.html Dio cannot. Because he is just good/solid but lacks on talent/hardware ability, versatility. His 'greatness' is in reatliy based on being a legend in a certain milieu and for appreciating his 'serious singer' approach. Now if one compares Floor to a top tier opera singer like Maria Callas, Monserat Caballet etc.) then she does not lack on talent or hardware ability but on lack of 'specializing in this field'. She can sing opera as well but is not really trained in that, did not specialize her voice for this style of singing. She didnt want go this route and also sings for instance slightly different if one looks exactly. In traditional opera u have for instance just 5 vovels (a, e, i, o and u - from an italian/german perspective). She 'could' do that but likes to use more vovel combinations. Dio did neither use classical opera/singing nor a huge versatility of pop/rock/musical but a solid limited range. That was good for him because it is good if one understand his limits and makes the best out of it - and one can create good singing with that. But this makes him not the 'greatest' singer. And Floor is of course much better on that. There are many other aspects. In classical singing/opera the vibrato for instance has usually 4-5 cycles per second. For other genres thats NOT necessary. Floor can sing different vibrato speeds and use that for dynamics. Dio was much more limited on that. He is generally more limited on dynamics as Floor. Funny sidenote: one of a couple of reasons Freddie Mercury (who had not really a notiable voice education but lot of natural talent) sounds unique is that he had generally a very fast natural vibrato. There are many other aspects only people with a bit more knowledge about singing/voice techniques could easily recognize. Floor creates for her singing a much better buildup as Dio (who is rather static. Also one reason why NightSame is true or the music of Rainbow ow Black Sabbath btw. ... they are more static. While one excuse is that they were back then of course not that much used to more modern knowledge Nightwish is also superiour to Rainbow or Black Sabbath for similar reasons. Both bands stuck in a certain style and never evolved much. Other bands like Queen, Saga (underrated!) and so on were by FAR more creative. I talk here about a later time when also bands like Rainbow or Black Sabbath COULD notice that there is more. And again. Thats not a matter of taste. Floor and Nightwish play much better around with dynamics, contrasts, up and downs ... also in difference to many other similar bands. It is NOT enough for good music just to replace a conventional screaming/growling metal singer with an opera style one. That results usually in an interested but just different style. One has to be able to use this new combination to create a better crossover - something new. Nightwish can do that, also plays around with those contrasts (conventional metal bands are limited in this way. Btw, another genres: techno/hardcore often plays around with the contrast between very soft and extrem brutal/hard) ... etc. bla bla ... Anyways... we have here the typical case that some people only copy/paste some known (and loved) stereotypes about singers and bands without a neutral view. Today the music is much more diverse. There are much more singers. Much more have a classical singing background (or contempory which also has partly some aspects of it but also about history and styles of the different eras).
and Nightwish is of course not a 'local band' (what a lack of knowledge). They have concerts all over the world and are also among the most refered ones by voice coaches. But even if a band/singer had no fans it could be superior but just still be unknown. Those are not relevant criterion for 'quality'. Many also dont know Dimash Kudaibergen (which is at the moment considered as the best singer in the world). And to understand why Floor and Nightwish are by far better as Dio and Rainbow/Black Sabbath (and btw, I like 'Catch the Rainbow' but there are not many tracks I really like by the both bands) one only need ears (but if one has more knowledge it should be easy to see why Floor is able to build up much more clever a song, can switch much easier from the different register (with more fluent vibrato control), has much more styles, better dynamics, more filigranity, more details in painting moods, can create much more atmosphere and so on). And why Nightwish can create much more iconic compositions ... I saw Dio countless times solo and with Sabbath in 1980. I would’ve given my right arm to see him with Rainbow. His voice was absolute perfection!!! 🤘
Watching this now in September 2020 brings back so many memories of the life I’ve lead and the things I’ve done. I love this band. Ritchie Blackmore, for me, is the best of the best. Listening to this now makes me so emotional and thankful for people like Ritchie and creative musical memory makers like him.

A message from 2022 to 2052 or even 2152. A few of us have been blessed to see some great rock singers live Halford, Mercury, Gillan, Piant etc etc. Dio is the goat, no desrespect to the others but this guy is the best hands down. Its not even close, thanks to You Tube you can see how great this singer really was. As a life long Sabbath fan I couldn't believe it when Ozzy left and Dio took over and then I saw him play with Sabbath in 1980 at the Birmingham Odeon in the UK. This is Sabbath's home town, and boy did they put on a great show with this short singer with the voice of a god. Ozzy's a great front man but Dio has the voice, and Sabbath were crazy to split with Ronnie.

У Ронни не только прекрасный голос, но и очень тонкий слух, все мелизмы звучат нереально чисто. Очень вдохновенный концерт, они с Ричи ловят импровизации друг друга. Космос с атмосферой 70-х...

no, he was a very solid one (and solid talent/discipline) but Floor Jansen/Nightwish is BY FAR better (more talent, more versatile, more dimensions, more colors, more styles, more depths, better ability to modify and build, better stage presence etc.). Both are classical trained (Floor has a more modern education as well). Both use good positioning during their live performance (but Dior is more static just like the sound arrangements btw. but that's not a singer criterion). Floor can (translated to a male) everything sing what Dio can and more. The opposite was not possible. One should not forget that Dio is often chosen due to tradition, as legend of being part of a history, his self discipline to take care about his voice (in difference to many other singer of that time - but not in difference to many more modern singer like Floor) ...

Dio is considered as great singer for two reasons: 1. music history/tradition/influence (both have nothing to do with 'great singing' and is btw, often based on certain networks/bubbles where each know each other and backuped both - and the generation grown up with them do the same) and 2. because Dio followed in difference to many other singers back then in this genre the more healthy 'classical voice education'. here is an article (also mentioning him) describing why grunting, screaming and growling can be unhealthy and how to avoid that: www.thenakedvocalist.com/create-vocal-effects/
Dio took care about his voice. He also used classical vocal techniques (get more with less), vibrator control, air-breath flow, how to sing legato (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legato) etc. etc...
Those aspects made him great and is the main reason why he nowadays often is considered as 'the greatest metal singer'. But this has nothing to do with the reality just like Pele, Beckenbauer and many of the old soccer players many like to consider as the 'greatest' are in reality not and surpassed by many modern better soccer players by any objective means.
Floor also has all this classical singing (but also contemporary) knowledge (actually thats for instance in the US part of a modern singing education. She actually is a vocal coach herself. But while Dio is in reality just a good ad solid singer Floor has more talent. She can sing with much more details, coloring, styles, versatility. She can sing everything Dio can but better - and she can sing more. There are also other ones out who can do better than Dio nowadays - but Floor is also better as them. Except one compares specialized fields. Floor for instance can also sing opera (and all other genres). Dio cannot. Because he is just good/solid but lacks on talent/hardware ability, versatility. His 'greatness' is in reatliy based on being a legend in a certain milieu and for appreciating his 'serious singer' approach. Now if one compares Floor to a top tier opera singer like Maria Callas, Monserat Caballet etc.) then she does not lack on talent or hardware ability but on lack of 'specializing in this field'. She can sing opera as well but is not really trained in that, did not specialize her voice for this style of singing. She didnt want go this route and also sings for instance slightly different if one looks exactly. In traditional opera u have for instance just 5 vovels (a, e, i, o and u - from an italian/german perspective). She 'could' do that but likes to use more vovel combinations. Dio did neither use classical opera/singing nor a huge versatility of pop/rock/musical but a solid limited range. That was good for him because it is good if one understand his limits and makes the best out of it - and one can create good singing with that. But this makes him not the 'greatest' singer. And Floor is of course much better on that. There are many other aspects. In classical singing/opera the vibrato for instance has usually 4-5 cycles per second. For other genres thats NOT necessary. Floor can sing different vibrato speeds and use that for dynamics. Dio was much more limited on that. He is generally more limited on dynamics as Floor. Funny sidenote: one of a couple of reasons Freddie Mercury (who had not really a notiable voice education but lot of natural talent) sounds unique is that he had generally a very fast natural vibrato.
There are many other aspects only people with a bit more knowledge about singing/voice techniques could easily recognize. Floor creates for her singing a much better buildup as Dio (who is rather static. Also one reason why NightSame is true or the music of Rainbow ow Black Sabbath btw. ... they are more static. While one excuse is that they were back then of course not that much used to more modern knowledge
Nightwish is also superiour to Rainbow or Black Sabbath for similar reasons. Both bands stuck in a certain style and never evolved much. Other bands like Queen, Saga (underrated!) and so on were by FAR more creative. I talk here about a later time when also bands like Rainbow or Black Sabbath COULD notice that there is more. And again. Thats not a matter of taste. Floor and Nightwish play much better around with dynamics, contrasts, up and downs ... also in difference to many other similar bands. It is NOT enough for good music just to replace a conventional screaming/growling metal singer with an opera style one. That results usually in an interested but just different style. One has to be able to use this new combination to create a better crossover - something new. Nightwish can do that, also plays around with those contrasts (conventional metal bands are limited in this way. Btw, another genres: techno/hardcore often plays around with the contrast between very soft and extrem brutal/hard) ... etc. bla bla ...
Anyways... we have here the typical case that some people only copy/paste some known (and loved) stereotypes about singers and bands without a neutral view. Today the music is much more diverse. There are much more singers. Much more have a classical singing background (or contempory which also has partly some aspects of it but also about history and styles of the different eras).
and Nightwish is of course not a 'local band' (what a lack of knowledge). They have concerts all over the world and are also among the most refered ones by voice coaches. But even if a band/singer had no fans it could be superior but just still be unknown. Those are not relevant criterion for 'quality'. Many also dont know Dimash Kudaibergen (which is at the moment considered as the best singer in the world). And to understand why Floor and Nightwish are by far better as Dio and Rainbow/Black Sabbath (and btw, I like 'Catch the Rainbow' but there are not many tracks I really like by the both bands) one only need ears (but if one has more knowledge it should be easy to see why Floor is able to build up much more clever a song, can switch much easier from the different register (with more fluent vibrato control), has much more styles, better dynamics, more filigranity, more details in painting moods, can create much more atmosphere and so on). And why Nightwish can create much more iconic compositions ...
