    Wise choice...citizen promaster with titanium coating is actually rust resistant and hypoallergenic...and it also uses super lumeniscent material to its hands numerical display so it glows in the dark brighter,and since its eco-drive...again battery change is no longer needed.it will last longer.😊

  • @colbydmay
    @colbydmay 2 года назад +2

    A long time ago, I had a Victorinox Dive Master, which I believe has the same movement as the INOX in this review (Ronda). I had to have the movement replaced (the part was all of $10 or $15, I believe) when it just decided to quit--the watch was less than two years old. Swiss watches like these, in my opinion, are overbuilt on the bracelets and cases and cut corners under the hood. Japanese brands are better balanced between movement quality and quality of cases and bracelets...and perhaps Citizen strikes this balance better than any of them. Your verdict rings true with me.

    Quite an in-depth review, it's not often we get to see detailed reviews including movements, nor direct comparisons.
    As for me, I'm yet to discover all options, but atm, the monocoque case is a big no-no for me, as it means that the case isn't screw-down (bad for water resistance), and most importantly that you literally have to take out the bezel, remove the hands and the dial to change the solar cell/battery. And that is a trial that can put a lot of stress on the watch, not to mention you can end up with misaligned hands. So while the Citizen had the possibility to get more durable on the paper, in practice I'm not quite sure it is. =)

    I bought the Citizen and hadn't even opened the box when I saw your scratch test. I immediately went back to the the AD and returned the watch. How would you compare the solar Seiko Tuna with the Victorinox? I like everything about it, however, I would really like to have a solar watch in my collection.

    • @TheTownWatch
      @TheTownWatch  4 года назад +1

      Simon Menges No watch is going to be scratch proof. I still love and wear my citizens Promaster tough everyday. That test was more done out of curiosity to see if their claims were true. I don’t have the solar tuna anymore but it was a good watch. Hard to compare with the INOX because their so different. Solar watches are great, you should get one at some point.

      @@TheTownWatch, I didn't say that the watch was scratch proof, however, Citizen's scratch resistant claim falls short of expectation. I agree that I should get a solar watch in my collection. • @TheTownWatch

      Simon Menges I think the INOX would be the tougher watch compared to the solar tuna. The quartz INOX has gone through a number of torture tests but I don’t know of any such tests for the solar tuna which I reviews previously on my channel.
