Found your video because I wanted INOX compared to something, anything. I agree with you if you're into quartz regarding battery. But IMHO, nothing come ahead of automatic watch, that's why my next grail is INOX Mechanical. I also love its toughness and look (though mechanical are more fragile, but still casing is manufactured to last a lifetime)... anyhow, great video, thanks for sharing. Cheers!

I wish they can combine the Eco-Drive of citizen and durability and appearance from Victorinox INOX. Solar power watch is so much better than mechanical and quartz.
The INOX is better looking and the date window is larger. The seconds hand does not line up with the seconds indices on the Promaster Tough. That drives me up the wall.
I’ve never had a citizen not line up including promaster tough. Inox however are absolutely known to not line up including mine- Victorinox in general typically don’t line up.
I have owned both, and am going to get another Citizen PMT. The INOX is extremely comfortable and balanced on the wrist. But, the odd lug width and odd clasp make the bracelet a no go, until you get used to it. However the lume is also horrible, as in Casio MDV106 horrible. My only gripe with the Citizen is that the minute hand needs to be about 1mm longer.

Promaster all the way for me !!!! Love the date window on the Promaster and the lume is way better . For a tool watch the inox has a clasp that will make you open whit 2 hands😁
Nice review. I actually have the Pro Master and the Diver Version of the INOX. The Diver Version is slightly larger, has a standard foldover clasp, and also is ISO certified. In this case I would definitely go with the Promaster , main reason the Eco Drive. No battery changes. I would say the INOX is nicer looking, but the the purpose definitely the Promaster
Wait, you won't ever have to change the battery on the pro master ? Not even after 10 20 years ? Also, isn't there a diver version of the pro master tough ?
@@dragos8839 It is possible that the battery will need to be replaced at some point, but I have heard Citizen Eco Drives going for over 20. There is a Pro Master Diver, I have never heard it refereed to as part of the tough line. It has a mineral crystal, and does not have the anti-scratch coating.

Quite an in-depth review, it's not often we get to see detailed reviews including movements, nor direct comparisons. As for me, I'm yet to discover all options, but atm, the monocoque case is a big no-no for me, as it means that the case isn't screw-down (bad for water resistance), and most importantly that you literally have to take out the bezel, remove the hands and the dial to change the solar cell/battery. And that is a trial that can put a lot of stress on the watch, not to mention you can end up with misaligned hands. So while the Citizen had the possibility to get more durable on the paper, in practice I'm not quite sure it is. =)
I bought the Citizen and hadn't even opened the box when I saw your scratch test. I immediately went back to the the AD and returned the watch. How would you compare the solar Seiko Tuna with the Victorinox? I like everything about it, however, I would really like to have a solar watch in my collection.
Simon Menges No watch is going to be scratch proof. I still love and wear my citizens Promaster tough everyday. That test was more done out of curiosity to see if their claims were true. I don’t have the solar tuna anymore but it was a good watch. Hard to compare with the INOX because their so different. Solar watches are great, you should get one at some point.
@@TheTownWatch, I didn't say that the watch was scratch proof, however, Citizen's scratch resistant claim falls short of expectation. I agree that I should get a solar watch in my collection. The Tough is just not tough enough for my liking. As for the Seiko, I was vague with my question. Is it as tough as the INOX?
Simon Menges I think the INOX would be the tougher watch compared to the solar tuna. The quartz INOX has gone through a number of torture tests but I don’t know of any such tests for the solar tuna which I reviews previously on my channel.

One of the best comparisons. Yes you did mention about the dial markers and a difficult clasp mechanism. Ok so the Citizen does have its advantages - EcoDrive, better loom, lighter, scratch resistant, easier clasp. But the INOX for me just looks more substantial and stands out, and that hexagon bezel is so unique.
@@TheTownWatch I ended up purchasing the INOX. The vid was definitely informative. The clasp takes some getting used to but this is one fantastic looking watch. I have a lot more expensive watches in my collection but this stacks up well against any of them in the looks department.
The promaster could literally be your life time watch. Inox is more refined but promaster wins the “tough and durable” category. Oh, and the lume is way better.

Hey what about the accuracy of those watches? At the end those are watches that suppose to tell us time... Isn't this what we should ask at the first place before the color and body material? Thanks
Currently looking at getting an Inox but struggling to decide which version. They are expensive in the UK and the cheapest I can find is a titanium on leather for £200 at tkmaxx or import an all stainless version from Amazon global. Unfortunately the citizen is £280 over here so out of budget for now.☹️
Victoriniox looks better but the Citizen is smaller and more wearable. And the color of the metal on the promaster tough looks like titanium which makes it more desirable.
I like the citizen better because of the case thinness and wearabili. But I wish the stainless steel was brighter, I don’t like the dull look that the coating gives it.
@@TheTownWatch Citizen. Bracelet is a huge con I never realized with the Inox. Citizen not a fan of the tiny date. Cool watches. I like them both, but I lead a very active lifestyle. As a mountaineer and rock climber, I'd go with the INOX.
Mark Fallon The INOX is probably the tougher watch. What do you wear currently when go rock climbing etc?
@@TheTownWatch, I am a big fan of Suunto.
Mark Fallon Nice! I don’t have any experience with Suunto but I know they are very popular. Have you ever consider a Casio Pro Trek “ABC” watch? They probably have all the same functions as a Suunto but with Solar Power. I have a few models that I’ve featured on my channel.
@@TheTownWatch, I also like the notion of having a solar timepiece.
Citizen promaster is thoughtfully designed and is beautiful :)
Yes, I agree!
Cheers!
Marc-Albert Jaquat Thanks for watching and commenting sir! Glad you enjoyed the video. I’m sure you’ll enjoy your INOX mechanical when you get it! I hope you’ll subscribe to the channel! Once we reach 1000 subscribers we’ll be doing another watch giveaway! You won’t want to miss it!
I wish they can combine the Eco-Drive of citizen and durability and appearance from Victorinox INOX. Solar power watch is so much better than mechanical and quartz.
That would be cool! Thanks for watching!
Yes, the Eco-drive is very nice.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
I think the victorinox INOX is tougher! I will buy the Victorinox INOX.
Citizen is my choice, I just bought one two days ago. Thanks for the nice video.
Good choice! Thanks for watching!
I think the citizen is the best but in the future if the watch needs service the Victorinox would be easier to repair because of the case back
I think you’re probably right. Thanks for watching!
Fantastic review. I would go with the Citizen...
thanks for the videos.
Angelica Solar Glad you enjoyed the video! Thanks for watching and commenting! I hope you’ll subscribe if you’re not already! Once we reach 1000 subscribers we’ll be doing another watch giveaway! You won’t want to miss it!
Promaster all the way for me !!!!
Love the date window on the Promaster and the lume is way better .
For a tool watch the inox has a clasp that will make you open whit 2 hands😁
It’s a good one! Thanks for watching!
Nice review.
I actually have the Pro Master and the Diver Version of the INOX. The Diver Version is slightly larger, has a standard foldover clasp, and also is ISO certified.
In this case I would definitely go with the Promaster , main reason the Eco Drive. No battery changes. I would say the INOX is nicer looking, but the the purpose definitely the Promaster
surfitli Thanks for watching and commenting! I like the INOX but prefer the Promaster overall, I wear my Promaster regularly.
@@surfitli are the diver series durable ? I found one for a great price (around 230 euros) and I may bite the bullet on it. Will it last decades ? Is it the type of watch to pass on to your kids lol. I may want too much from a 200 euros watch but will it last more than a battery change at least (20 years as you said) ?
@@dragos8839 I’m sorry, I really don’t have the answers you want. I really don’t wear either of these watches, so Can’t say how they are in the real world.
Based on looks the Victorinox smashes it. Based on everything scientific and technical it's the citizen
Brian Cullen Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts, for me personally I like the looks of the Citizen more, not saying the Victorinox is ugly. I hope you’ll subscribe if you’re not already! Once we reach 1000 subscribers we’ll be doing another watch giveaway! You won’t want to miss it!
I subbed
@@TheTownWatch can you compare one of these to the Orient star diver?
Brian Cullen I would love too! Don’t have one at the moment though... Thanks for the sub!
Really Really hard to choose a favorite, i really like both!! but I would pick first the Citizen an second the Victorinox.
Thanks for watching! I’m glad you enjoyed! Thanks for sharing your thoughts too!
@@TheTownWatch, thank you very much.
Simon Menges Thank you for tuning in!
they look similar but the INOX wins the looks dept in my opinion. but it seems the citizen is the better overall watch
All Things Important 89 They are both good watches that’s for sure! Thanks for tuning in!
Terrific job...and the scratch test, too. I would love to see link pin mentions for the bracelets..split pin, pin and collar (pipe) screw, etc...Great camera work too...Thanks..btw just ordered the BJ7111-86L Citizen Promaster Marine import from SeiyaJapan
TERRY Thanks for watching and commenting! I’ll try and remember to mention pin link information! No promises though! 😊 Glad you enjoyed the video! I’ll have to check out the watch you just ordered.
@@TheTownWatch okay thanks JC
The Citizen Promaster Tough will be my choice.

dayy logg I bought one and love it! Go for it.

Great video, very informative & thanks for sharing! I have both. Just curious why you wear gloves if you are constantly rubbing the watches together?
Thanks for watching! This was one of my very first videos on my channel, so I was still a beginner! 😁
One of the best comparisons. Yes you did mention about the dial markers and a difficult clasp mechanism. Although I don't like the date in the Promaster but due to the made and solar powered movement, thinness I would go for the Ctizen Promaster. You could add some macroshot of the dial with running second hand closely.
Imran Chowdhury Thanks for tuning in! I hope to upgrade my camera situation to get some better shots eventually.
@@TheTownWatch I wish you all the very best in getting your 1k subscribers. However could you repeat what I have to do to take part in the giveaway if this Citizen Promaster....thank you.
Imran Chowdhury Thank you for the kind words! I’m sorry, the giveaway closed yesterday. I will be drawing and announcing the winner on Saturday.
Citizen seems like the runaway winner. Thanks!
I definitely like the Citizen better! Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the great review.......and the winner is......Citizen all the way....!!!!!!!!
Thanks for watching!
Great comparision, one of these could be my next watch and i dont know which one! Leaning towards the citizen now

@@TheTownWatch Thanks for your reply, already subscribed, your reviews are shot very well, im sure the subs will start shooting up.
Hi nice video, both are nice but the inox looks better. I’ve got the inox automatic and it’s a beautiful good quality watch, which I tend to enjoy, although both are very nice . Solar power is fantastic
Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts!
It's Citizen for me every time, but have a look at the Citizen PMD56-2952 !!
Promaster without hesitation. Titanium is superior IMO and the lume is utterly superior aswell if my Promaster vs. my Certina Diver is anything to go by. Not to mention Eco-Drive!
OES 25 Thanks for watching and commenting! I really enjoy my Promaster Tough! I’m wearing it right now! It’s made out of stainless steel but has Citizen’s “super titanium” coating.
@@TheTownWatch Ah, that's right. I forgot 😅
OES 25 Just wanted to clarify, no big deal!
I.N.O.X is the best!!! Swiss military tank on my wrist
I hope citizen makes a diver version of the tough with circular markers
Brian Cullen That would be awesome!
Do you intentionally let the watches clash at each other to prove the scratch resistance? Good review by the way.
Hans F. Qua 😂 No, but I do have some scratch test videos that you should check out! I realized after I made this video how much I was hitting the watches together! Very cringy! Thanks for stopping by and commenting. I hope you’ll subscribe! Once we reach 1000 subscribers we’ll be doing another watch giveaway! You won’t want to miss it!
Ok so the Citizen does have its advantages - EcoDrive, better loom, lighter, scratch resistant, easier clasp. But the INOX for me just looks more substantial and stands out, and that hexagon bezel is so unique.
Thanks for watching! The INOX is a nice looking watch!
Gene Steger Thanks for watching and commenting! The INOX is a tough watch no doubt and Victorinox has put it through a lot of tests but I prefer my Promaster Tough!
It is hard to see when the watches' crystals are rubbed constantly against that wood table.
Hope they are tough enough.
I have an INOX and a Marathon. Any recommendations for another tough steel watch? Big and tough, that's what I like.
That's great! Anything from the casio G-Shock or Pro Trek line is going to be tough. The Casio Pro Trek PRW-50T-7ACR is nice and has a titanium bracelet. Not sure if the case is titanium though.
@@TheTownWatch , thanks.
Chris Menes Absolutely!
Awesome review! I love how slowly and clearly you make a video! Hope you get a few more thumbs up! I've had an inox VSA and do thi k that citizen promaster is better!

Solar and titanium all the way!!
The Citizen is made of Stainless Steel but has a coating which Citizen calls "Super Titanium". Just wanted to make that clear. Thanks for watching!
Yeah, I know. You did mention it on your previous video. :D
@@Nauta899 Just wanted to make sure, it's easy to get confused by this!
Promaster, my choice.
Tan Tu Glad you agree! 😊
😆 yesterday YT recommended a Promaster video to me, and I commented that it reminds me of INOX and now this. 😆
That’s funny! The all knowing RUclips comes through! 😅 Hope you enjoyed the video!
ProMaster all the way. I’ll be ordering mine tomorrow!
Great choice, it’s a wonderful watch!
Both look very nice. I was going to get the citizen but none of the shops here sell them.
Thanks for watching! Where are you located? Do you have access to order online?
@@TheTownWatch Australia. I bought a Seiko instead and happy with it. I would still get the Citizen if I could see it somewhere but it must be hiding, I can’t even see one online that can be bought. I think Jomoshop has it but no warranty and not much less than retail. I don’t buy stuff from suspect sellers.
@@aussie8114 I understand! Glad you found a good Seiko! Yeah, I checked my Amazon links and it seems to be unavailable there. Hopefully you can find one in a store to look at some time!
The Inox with a after market strap rubber or leather is the way to go .
Billy Tscherne Definitely not a bad choice! Thanks for watching!
Victorinox is prettier. Citizen is more practical
I like that citizen tough and had me thinking if i could sell my limited fugu to get a silver tough..
Keep the fugu and get the Promaster tough too! Can’t have too many watches right!?
Hey what about the accuracy of those watches? At the end those are watches that suppose to tell us time... Isn't this what we should ask at the first place before the color and body material? Thanks
Quartz watches are typically the same across the board when it comes to accuracy. I believe it is +/- 15 seconds per month. Thanks for watching.
Currently looking at getting an Inox but struggling to decide which version. They are expensive in the UK and the cheapest I can find is a titanium on leather for £200 at tkmaxx or import an all stainless version from Amazon global. Unfortunately the citizen is £280 over here so out of budget for now.☹️
John m I understand what you’re saying! I think either one would be a good quality choice! Thanks for watching!
Victoriniox looks better but the Citizen is smaller and more wearable. And the color of the metal on the promaster tough looks like titanium which makes it more desirable.
Thanks for watching!
The Inox is more class, more chic.!
Daniel Barras It’s a nice piece! Thanks for watching! I hope you’ll subscribe if you’re not already!
Citizen, all day 👍

Surprising how similar these watches are. The Victorinox bezel wins it for me. But the price tag on the Citizen cheaper and more budget friendly.
Thanks for watching, I appreciate your thoughts! Both are great options for sure but as you know the Promaster Tough won out for me!
Nice review. I like the Citizen. But I love watches so I would take anyone.
Thank you! They are both good choices.
I would choose the Citizen with the green dial and a horween strap.
That's a cool one! Thanks for watching!
What are your opinions of Victorinox watches? I am very interested in this brand. I do want to treat myself. Thanking you 🙏
I like the citizen better because of the case thinness and wearabili. But I wish the stainless steel was brighter, I don’t like the dull look that the coating gives it.
Inox very nice. I love it
My exact dilemma lately. Thanks.
I hope this review helped you! Which watch are you leaning towards right now?
@@TheTownWatch Citizen. Bracelet is a huge con I never realized with the Inox. Citizen not a fan of the tiny date. Only concerns with the Citizen is servicing which will take special service and Eco-drive which they say you shouldn't let die from no sunlight, so important to keep it going and not sockdrawer.
Cool! Hope you can pick one up soon!
Victorinox!!
