Not even sure if Katara meant for that to be a blind joke haha. The first time I watched it I assumed she forgot that Toph is blind and she means that Toph is in a tent so she can't "see" the stars
Mai and Ty Lee are non-benders. It says a lot about Azula that she recruited non-benders when she could have recruited any number of highly skilled firebenders. They're not just her friends, she values their abilities.
While that’s true, I also think it has to do with the power imbalance. Mai and Ty Lee are great at what they do, but there’s a limit to their abilities. They can never be as powerful as Azula, and that’s exactly what Azula wants.
@@artistfloor9 Did you see the Royal Firebenders? You can count the benders in the world that can ever be as powerful as Azula on one to less than two hands and none of those would be even viable options, she picked Mai and Ty Lee cause any viable firebender wouldn't add much while they have quite unique abilities to offer.
Something I liked about the conversation between Iroh and Toph if you remember back in book 1 Zuko says Azula was born lucky and he was lucky to be born. Toph says that Zuko is very lucky referring to how much Iroh cares about him. It's interesting to think about how Azula being a prodigy measures against the fortune of having someone who genuinely cares about you.

Azula: *places hand over left eye* "I must find the Avatar to restore my honour" Aang: *silence* *stares nonchalantly* Azula: It's okay, you can laugh. It's funny. Me: 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I just love the fact that even though Aang is standing right there, Zuko doesn’t think twice going to his Uncle’s side. Toph’s behavior is understandable since she has never had a friend before and Earth Rumble is usually an one-to-one fight. She’s never been a part of a team before.
Both Aang & Azula are/were prodigies. Remember, in ‘The Storm’ last season, Aang was the only kid with arrows. That signified that was already a master. Even Katara and Master Pakku both said that Aang was naturally gifted when it came to bending. We saw how good Azula was in the flashback from the ‘Zuko Along’ episode. as you guessed, Azula was going for the avatar to get glory herself and deny her brother Zuko. Funny thing, Zuko needed 2 years to search for the avatar and another half year to chase him down. Azula just found the Gaang like a few weeks after she set up her very own suicide squad. And you can tell, Azula is something like John Wick: Azula is a woman of focus, commitment, sheer will. You saw her training on the ship while going to find Zuko at the beginning of book 2 and how perfectly crazy she wanted to perform. Even in Zuko Alone, you saw her as kid beeing very focused on fire bending and outmatch her older brother to the fact beeing able to shoot blue fire. In the 3 way fight, she was the one shooting first and on her brother first. Some may say, Zuko was more dangerous because aang was tired as fuck, but i would say it was personal for her. Something tells me, even beeing able to beat zuko in every competition, she is fearing him beeing able to catch up. Thats probably why she mocked him as child and loved the task her father gave her. And like many already told, she shot Iroh because he wasnt paying attention while noticing toph beeing part of the avatar gang. She somehow escaped and i think she did the very same trick like jong jong did (maybe she studied him, who knows. Jong jong was a common outlaw and Azula is just ripping it) You even noticed the visual difference between Aang, Azula and Zuko. Aang was flying in the floorless building, Azula could caught a stable stance and Zuko just going in like a braindead man xD i am loving such details in the show
Yea but the Katara one is meant to cross a line cause Katara is literally trying to make Toph feel bad about her disability which is FUCKED UP, over a petty disagreement. The ones Toph and the writing tell are funny tho
@@magortom I didn't see that in that way, to be honest, since a lot of times, the team forgets that she is blind. Toph was inside her tent so I thought that Katara was pertaining to that and unintentionally, it became a roast about her disability. That's what I thought about that situation.
One thing to observe about Toph is since she is blind and mainly senses through the earth, riding on Appa basically removes all her abilities to "see". So she often clings to the saddle to to another person (often Sokka!). It is a detail I appreciate. Also explains why for her sleeping on Appa is out of the question. She would be too disconcerted.
Don't underestimate mai and ty ee. They also went to royal fire academy just like azula. And yes it will be impossible to see azula show emotions or cry👀
@@AkinReacts she’s shown emotion. Like her anger when one hair was out of place when she shot lightening off the ship (in the first episode this season), when uncle Iroh ‘interrupted her’ & she snapped at him saying ‘don’t interrupt uncle’ and when the captain said ‘we’re taking the prisoners home’. It’s a very slight movement in her eyes. She also showed surprise when she realized that Aang was The Avatar. Her facial expression is usually fixed in a determined manner but there are very slight show of emotions, mainly in her eyes.
Have to understand that Azula has 14 years old and she still practicing with the two old women, Aang stop practicing airbender at 12 years old, even when he is an airbender master he doesn't know more high level technique, you can see that Aang something just use his imagination when he is using airbend.
Oooh this ones a good episode! Your guys reactions are always amazing! I love the dynamic you guys have! You always put out good reactions and avatar never fails to entertain! Keep up the good work!
One thing I LOVED about this episode is that Katara and Aang immediately realized that they lost their temper with Toph and wanted to make amends. It shows their emotional maturity and depth as characters, and also showing them as good people that can make mistakes and learn from them. Too many shows out there will keep some dumbass, petty conflict going between two characters for way too long. Shit drags on and makes the characters look like drama queen idiots.
Ah, another great episode. They just keep coming! Thanks for the reaction as always guys, u know I appreciate it. Wonder if u guys have the same favorite characters or if they’ve changed. Raphael is still a zuko head tho, I know that 😂 Oh also, keep in mind watching azula is LITERALLY A 14 YEAR OLD CHILD. I can never wrap my head around this fact no matter how often I’m reminded of it
If the others didn't stand a chance, she wouldn't have run away from them. The point of taking Iroh down was just capitalizing on an opportunity while creating a distraction to give her time to escape (Zuko's a skilled tracker, perhaps even better than Azula is because he's had to rely more on perfecting that skill, but he would have to choose between finding her and saving his uncle's life). She was having trouble when she was only facing Aang and Zuko (Aang's main goal was just to get away). With Toph, Katara, and Sokka cornering her, there was no way she could have fought them head on and won.
@@kpuda7722 I'm pretty sure that user meant individually though, a 5on1 is obviously a bit insane. And Azula had zero trouble with just Aang and Zuko there to be frank.
Real shit, I’ve watched this series tonssss of times and always took katara’s comment about not seeing the stars as Toph is in her rock tent and couldn’t see through it if she tried, just literally dawned on me now lmao katara is a savage
The Fire Lord can be a woman. In this world, bending ability usually equalises the genders in all nations except the Water tribes. The reason why bending ability didn't equalise in Water tribe culture was because there was the healing ability and the fighting ability of water bending giving an easy way to divide men and women. But in other nations like the fire nation, title like Lord are gender neutral and mean the member of the Royal family who currently rules no matter the gender. Who rules is usually decided by either order in which they are born or if they're twins, it's decided on bending ability, never gender.
For some reason I never saw the "too bad you can't see them, Toph" as a joke about Toph being blind. I always figured it was because she was inside a hut and the others were outside I know that doesn't make sense, but it is kind of a running gag for the gaang to forget Toph is blind, so it could be one of those moments
What I love abt reactions are seeing people react honestly. Yall are authentic and obviously love the characters. Sometimes it's hard to remember how easy it is to miss little details or things that became more clear later. I like watching yall put pieces together in real time. Meant to just watch the greatest hits but I've been watching all of them from the end of book 1 haha. Dont listen if people bug you abt forgetting small details. Love your reactions!
This episode's argument is split into two teams, Me? I'm on Toph's side. Katara didn't even directly ASK for help, she just expected her to start working on everyone else's things, she's respecting her and the other's privacy and not complaining or starting a fight in any way, I understand she could be a little more flexible but she has literally never had friends before so you can't blame her for being on guard
Its not black and white. Like you said toph could be a more flexible. But I think she also could have helped the others. That way some other time they can help her. It’s called interdependence
I don’t blame her for being independent it’s not her fault she doesn’t know what it’s like to be in a team and have friends and katara shouldn’t expect her to know either but you could see that she was trying to explain it to her.
To the OG Commeter, initually Katara is more of a welcoming let's work together vibe. No need to ask cause she thought of camaradie. Like somethings no need to be directly said or ask but yes I agree with the fact, that the situation could ve handled better by everyone. Maybe by asking directly it appears more rude? Then again, remember that these are children.
I can't believe that after watching this scene nth times that it's only after akin paused the video that I finally realized that Katara might have said the thing about not seeing the night bcuz Toph is blind. I can't believe I was so slow😂
Dammit I just binged this playlist in 2 days and we’re only in the middle?!😫 so glad you guys are enjoying it! Always so fun to see others love the show as much as I do!🥰
when i first time saw this episode (i was like 10 years old) i thought katara meant with her "too bad u cant see the stars toph" because she has build a closed tent while the other sleep wide open in the field. Only after rewatching it after more than a decade, I realised the hars joke/insult xD
They make a TON of blind jokes in the show. All of them, all except this one, are hysterical. This one... this one was the only one made out of pure malice. Katara is a goddamn savage.
Azula's escape in this episode is very much like Jhong Jhong's escape in book one. Must be a master firebender move when you need to make a quick getaway without anyone seeing where you're going. Make a bubble of fire around yourself and bend your way out of it from the back while everybody is distracted or something like that. Zhao called it a trick, saying that Jhong Jhong had run off into the woods.
Toph said last episode she has never had friends before, basically she has only been with his overprotective parents, serving staff that work for her overprotective parents, and fighting in the ring. Of course she has no idea how to work *with* people and how friendship works.
Can we talk about how surprising it must have been for Aang seeing the Prince and Princess of the Fire Nation literally fighting each other and not understanding why at all?
I think Japanese cultures or was it Chinese cultures allowed women to lead as Empresses and the fire nation is based on Japanese and Chinese cultures. The Water Tribe, well, is a tribe and so the titles are passed down to the male lineage. We also saw how sexist they are as it relates to women.
Y'all saying you can't laugh at Katara's "Too bad you can't see them, Toph." Because it's too much. Me, over here cackling even though I've heard the insult over 50 times. Lol great reaction guys! I love it!
With that comment, that Zuko just runs straight in and Azula thinks. Later in the episode we see Azula run in the house and she recovers fast and Zuko just straight up falls in. so you guys were spot on.
Those lizards do have some real world equivalent. There is a lizard in South American called the Jesus Christ lizard which can run across the surface of water at high speeds
In the fortune teller episode, there were twin kids where one could bend and one could not. Bending is a genetic trait just like hair color or handsome jawlines
There where you say shouldn't Katara be in her elimant when she and Sokka fight Mai en Ty Lee, remember Mai and Ty Lee are fighting fully rested and full power and master katara is tired no energy and drained so it would make sense that Mai and Ty Lee beat her easy, if Katara wasn't that tired she could end them easy
One thing that I disagree with toph on is the fact that she said "I gave up everything to help aang" as if she didn't want to. It's not like she was giving up a lot either. She didn't even want to stay. She wanted to leave. And she lied about her dad changing his mind and ran away which got them into trouble. The least she could do Is set up one tent 💀✌🏽

You even noticed the visual difference between Aang, Azula and Zuko. Aang was flying in the floorless building, Azula could caught a stable stance and Zuko just going in like a braindead man xD i am loving such details in the show
Thank you so much for these details that you provide every episode … they really help 🙌🏾🙌🏾

5:30 It's okay you can laugh. There's gonna be plenty of blind jokes on the show from here on out 😂
😂😂😂
blind JOKES are meant to be fun, not to offend :)
Yeah, I remember then my blind friend SAW avatar he thought these jokes were fun.
@@dadandadandan hahaha
Yea but the Katara one is meant to cross a line cause Katara is literally trying to make Toph feel bad about her disability which is FUCKED UP, over a petty disagreement. The ones Toph and the writing tell are funny tho
@@magortom yes viewers are aware of that , because the show is well written :)
She really doesn’t show emotions, she always level headed 😤
And Aang never had actual fighting expirience with his airbending before getting out of the iceberg
Yall forgetting the main thing, He's a pacifist
Oooh this ones a good episode! Your guys reactions are always amazing! I love the dynamic you guys have! You always put out good reactions and avatar never fails to entertain! Keep up the good work!
Thanks so much for the kind words 🙌🏾🙌🏾
One thing I LOVED about this episode is that Katara and Aang immediately realized that they lost their temper with Toph and wanted to make amends. It shows their emotional maturity and depth as characters, and also showing them as good people that can make mistakes and learn from them. Too many shows out there will keep some dumbass, petty conflict going between two characters for way too long. Shit drags on and makes the characters look like drama queen idiots.
5:05 you see now when I first heard Katara say this, I thought she meant because toph was in a tent. But then I clocked 😭
Ruthless 😭
Even without a drop of sleep, Appa still carrying 💪
💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿
Ah, another great episode. They just keep coming! Thanks for the reaction as always guys, u know I appreciate it. Wonder if u guys have the same favorite characters or if they’ve changed. Raphael is still a zuko head tho, I know that 😂
Oh also, keep in mind watching azula is LITERALLY A 14 YEAR OLD CHILD. I can never wrap my head around this fact no matter how often I’m reminded of it
Yh Raphael favourite is still Zuko 😂 And am finding it harder and harder to believe Azula is 14 🤯 and Zuko’s younger sister!!
I love these reactions! 😭 wish there was one every day
Keep up the good work 🤩
We appreciate the support 🙌🏾🙌🏾
Azula shot Iroh because she knew that he is powerful as her and the others didn't stand a chance.
Yh that’s true, Iroh was also distracted at that moment 🤔
If the others didn't stand a chance, she wouldn't have run away from them. The point of taking Iroh down was just capitalizing on an opportunity while creating a distraction to give her time to escape (Zuko's a skilled tracker, perhaps even better than Azula is because he's had to rely more on perfecting that skill, but he would have to choose between finding her and saving his uncle's life). She was having trouble when she was only facing Aang and Zuko (Aang's main goal was just to get away). With Toph, Katara, and Sokka cornering her, there was no way she could have fought them head on and won.
Wrong toph and her are like equal strength
@@kpuda7722 I'm pretty sure that user meant individually though, a 5on1 is obviously a bit insane. And Azula had zero trouble with just Aang and Zuko there to be frank.
@Highway Unicorn Tru dat 😩
The problem is the avatar group continually forget that Toph is blind because she is so capable and powerful.
Azula straight up tried to murder uncle. Because she knows he is the only who can beat her.
Katara : the stars are sure beautiful tonight, too bad you can't see them, toph
Toph : so is your mother, katara.
Yalls reaction to the “too bad you can’t see them, Toph” had me laughing so hard that I was tearing up. 😂
It was so rudeeeee 😂😂😂
For some reason I never saw the "too bad you can't see them, Toph" as a joke about Toph being blind. I always figured it was because she was inside a hut and the others were outside
I know that doesn't make sense, but it is kind of a running gag for the gaang to forget Toph is blind, so it could be one of those moments
You and 99% of people that react to the show. I can count on 1 hand the amount of those who aren’t 😂
Both sides are understandable.
The on point observation that iroh was attacked when his guard was down is A-1.
Dammit I just binged this playlist in 2 days and we’re only in the middle?!😫 so glad you guys are enjoying it! Always so fun to see others love the show as much as I do!🥰
Thank you so much for the kind word, and Yh the series has been really good so far 😁
when i first time saw this episode (i was like 10 years old) i thought katara meant with her "too bad u cant see the stars toph" because she has build a closed tent while the other sleep wide open in the field. Only after rewatching it after more than a decade, I realised the hars joke/insult xD
Bruhhh sameeee. I was like Raphael in this moment. It was wrong to laugh but I couldn't help it😂
That is what she meant, it’s a double joke
Fr Katara has a dark side man 😅
@@uhohmykokoro1616 i dont know man, i think katara herself wasnt thinking about her be blind at this moment :D
@@AkinReacts i guess all women reach their dark side when they have to start arguing with another woman while beeing tired for good :D
They make a TON of blind jokes in the show. All of them, all except this one, are hysterical. This one... this one was the only one made out of pure malice. Katara is a goddamn savage.
She got a dark side.. Scary 😂

Every time ur intro comes on my brother turns around to look at the screen. Y’all channel is lit 🔥
I just watched like four of these avatar reaction videos from you guys straight. Y’all are hilarious 😂. I’m subscribing
Thank you so much 😁
Toph said last episode she has never had friends before, basically she has only been with his overprotective parents, serving staff that work for her overprotective parents, and fighting in the ring. Of course she has no idea how to work *with* people and how friendship works.
Can we talk about how surprising it must have been for Aang seeing the Prince and Princess of the Fire Nation literally fighting each other and not understanding why at all?
5:13
"Oh..."
I'm fucking dying 😂 u guys are great
😂😂😂
Gabriele's reaction on 15:32 hahaha I'm dead

Dude the blind girl found out the issue but three well seeing people were just there
The first 10/10 episode for me (so far). Great reaction!
It only gets better and better 🤯
Dude "Zuko Alone"?

Yessir 😤 thank you so much 🙌🏾
I think Japanese cultures or was it Chinese cultures allowed women to lead as Empresses and the fire nation is based on Japanese and Chinese cultures.
I love it!

The burns in this ep where on fire
facts! 😂😂😂
In the first episode of the season, Azula does scratch Zuko with her nails!
With that comment, that Zuko just runs straight in and Azula thinks. Later in the episode we see Azula run in the house and she recovers fast and Zuko just straight up falls in. so you guys were spot on.
Y'all reactions when Katara made that blind insult 😂
😂😂😂
Those lizards do have some real world equivalent. There is a lizard in South American called the Jesus Christ lizard which can run across the surface of water at high speeds
There are some reptiles like that in real life who move on water in that manner
She scratched and made Zuko bleed with those nails on the boat. so yeah that nails are a weapon.
In the fortune teller episode, there were twin kids where one could bend and one could not. Bending is a genetic trait just like hair color or handsome jawlines
Can't be sending shots at iroh azula 🤦♂️😭😭
Fr, that was out of order 😭
Azula is too OP for sure. She has actually used her nails to scratch Zuko several episodes back. They're sharp af
They’re all super sleep deprived
My favorite effing ATLA reactors right now!
Yessir 😤 thank you 🙌🏾
another BANGER vid
Yessir 😤
There where you say shouldn't Katara be in her elimant when she and Sokka fight Mai en Ty Lee, remember Mai and Ty Lee are fighting fully rested and full power and master katara is tired no energy and drained so it would make sense that Mai and Ty Lee beat her easy, if Katara wasn't that tired she could end them easy
They dont call Sokka a BACK BENDER for nothing
Iroh was a good character
Enjoy the Toph shade, she's awesome
Oh and the blind jokes begin 😎

I’m ded, too funny wallahi

Almost time for Bitter
The creators later admit in a PLAYful way, that it was too easy and unrealistic that azula escaped that
Makes sense 😂
Uhm no, they actually made fun of something completely different.
We all know Azula is fire but that was straight up plot armor 😭
Bruh she got out of a 6 on 1, she is fire 😂
Not really, it would've been just plot armor if Ty Lee and Mai would've appeared out of nowhere or anything like that.
So does this mean it's now Aang - 2, Azula - 0 ?
Technically 😂
One thing that I disagree with toph on is the fact that she said "I gave up everything to help aang" as if she didn't want to. It's not like she was giving up a lot either. She didn't even want to stay. She wanted to leave. And she lied about her dad changing his mind and ran away which got them into trouble. The least she could do Is set up one tent 💀✌🏽
