I love how, when you learned Toph was blind, you immediately asked if she could swim or if she could see in a metal environment. Worthwhile questions, of course, but I can't remember any reactor who thought of them at this point of the series. I can't wait to see what else you think of!
Another American reference/ joke: that guy trying to sell his classes to Aang is based on the stereotype of cheap, fake karate dojo’s that are just there to make money, not really teach real martial arts. McDojo’s the Karate equivalent of McDonald’s.
This is mostly about Toph and Aang, but Sokka being a total fan boy and Katara using her girly ways to get information is also pretty funny. Also Sokka and Momo low key have one of the best relationships. He started out trying to eat Momo, and now carries the lemur around in his bag.

Hey guys! Been watching since day 1. No spoilers obviously, but this is where the show starts to really pick up steam. I can’t wait for your reactions!
I love the small detail of the different fighting styles between Toph and the other Earth Benders in this. Normally earth benders have a wide base and strong strikes (it's based on Hung Gar, all the bending styles have a base in a real-world martial art), but Toph's stance is different and she keeps her hands much closer to her body (Chu Gar Southern Praying Mantis). Because she's blind she's had to learn to bend very differently compared to how normal earth benders learn and her style is very different as a result.
You got to have Fire Nation Man. Every kayfabe needs a Heel. Also, "The Boulder" is modeled after another popular former wrestler, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, and his voice patterned after Randy Savage, whose character often spoke in that aggressive third person.

Toph maybe better in Earthbending than Azula in Firebending. She is not only a prodigy but also blind so she has to put everything on her senses. Also she learned from the original benders in an original way. And she created a whole new innovation.

My theory (and I can say this without spoilers for them!) is that Bumi absolutely knew what he was doing when he told Aang his earthbending teacher needed to be someone who waits and listens. He probably knew about The Blind Bandit and her ability to "see" through her earthbending, and he knew she would be able to teach Aang earthbending.
