If you look closely, you'll see Iroh has been teaching Zuko firebending techniques based on other element styles. For example, zukos fire breath is based on the airbending focus on breath. Lightning redirection is waterbending, so on and so forth.
It's so sad to see Iroh kneeling saying he will see his son soon. You get the feeling that he feels overwhelming guilt for dragging his son into an endless war and then survive him. I'm sure his son thought as Zuko did in that he would do anything to please his father.
Iroh’s monologue about the qualities of each nation is one of my favourite moments of the show. It’s a masterful piece of writing that reflects the best of humanity in such a powerful way.
I loved how when Toph told Aang how good he did standing up to her and the saber tooth moose lion he earthbended. She actually took Katara’s advice and it worked out
Hi :) One curiosity since you noticed this detail. On the Artbook of the show it is clarified that Toph rock armor holes should have been on her mouth instead of the eyes, they even show the concept art, but the production didn't noticed the error in time to fix the animation on the retakes.
Great episode. I like the history lesson that Iroh gives Zuko about the four elements. It is a great moment in the show when you get more information on the four elements. Toph is such an amazing character. I like how she gives what she brings to the group, not just in her bending. But what she brings in personality where the others lack. Like Karara is soft and gentle like the water, and Toph is hard and tough like a rock. I feel bad for Zuko. Like he can't catch a break. But his struggles make him such an interesting character because some of us can relate. And we root for him to break through the cycle of pain and disappointment. But anyway I hope you two have a wonderful day. Stay safe, take care and stay amazing Meesh and Dee.
The History lesson Iroh gives is literal FIRE 🔥 You can tell how focused we were during that scene lol You are awesome as always! Have an amazing day 💕 -M
@@MeeshDeeReacts yes I can tell how invested you two was in the scene where Iroh is teaching Zuko the lessons and history of the elements. Thank you for a moment of you two time 🙏🏾
Zuko has his struggles, but we must ask how much is self-inflicted. Such as is shown here, with his pride causing the real pain. He has quite the ego to assume the whole world has a personal vendetta against him.
11:44 don't worry.. I'm 23 and I still get emotional about iroh talking about lightning bending. Like the comparison between a cartoon vs real life is so symbolic. 12:03 also my favorite line. Also, Toph took his Stick and His Bag of nuts.. think about thattt one lmaoooo
the sabretoothed moose lion only seems like a long-winded multi-animal because of the sabre-toothed bit. It's a moose lion. With sabre teeth. The moose part is the snout, antlers and fur. The lion is the teeth and body structure (moose are hooved with skinny legs and musculature). you are probably thinking of a sabre-toothed tiger...but remember these animals follow and don't follow real world animals. in this world, it's not referencing the tiger, just its sabre teeth (which other animals have). It's a lion here,...in part.
Great reaction 😊. Something i wanna say first, I was actually having a very bad day so watching ATLA with u guys helped 🥲🥲. i love the positive and negative energy explanation Iroh gave Zuko because it literally means create voltage within yourself and expel the current Iroh teaching Zuko to redirect lightning has a callback to Book 1 when their ship was trapped in the storm. Iroh redirects a lightning bolt so it doesn't strike the ship and Zuko And the look on Iroh's face in the scene probably implied it's the first time he's actually used the technique outside of practice. His shocked face says "I cannot believe that actually worked". And im pretty sure he does it again in Ep 1 of Book 2 against Azula. During the scene where Aang is training with Katara, she uses a sneak attack to prove that taking threats head on is something he can do, he just doesn't notice that's what he did because he used waterbending to do it. I love that Toph actually listens and implements Kararas advice. The entire ep was trying to learn. For Aang its earthbending and for Zuko its Lightning (Im talking about shooting lightning not redirecting it). So why is it that Aang was able push past his blockade while Zuko couldnt? To me it was because of their Mental state. Their performance perfectly encapsulates their mental states. Aang who has accepted the death of his people, not gotten over his trauma yes, but accepted it. And his friends his new found reason to keep going, aang is mentally strong and continues to move forward. Meanwhile Zuko who has been experiencing humility for the past few weeks. His 3 years at sea searching for the Avatar and failing again and again even after he found him. And of course him being charged with treason to the firenation. Not a banished prince but a criminal. Zuko mentally is weak and breaks in the rain.
The fact we were able to make your day better makes our day! 😭 You are so sweet and you have been so great during our RUclips Journey! Best believe we look forward to your essays. I love how you're able to dissect every detail, makes me love the show even more. Hope you're day gets even better! I was too having one of those days yday 😂💓 -Meesh
The death of his son sent Iroh down a very different path. Without that event, he would probably still be gung ho about the war, and a very different person. His whole spiritual journey started after that event.
The saber-toothed moose lion is a hybrid of the prehistoric big cat known as the saber-toothed tiger, aka a smilodon (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smilodon), a lion, and a moose.
It's a two animal hybrid not 3. The Saber-Tooth Lion (Smilodon) & a Moose. The names Saber Tooth Tiger or Saber Tooth Lion are nicknames for Smilodon. Smilodon was not a true Tiger or lion.
NGL I know this is wrong but it KILLS me everytime Toph says “It’s not the only ‘delicate’ instrument” and smacks his Staff off the walls 😭🙌💀 it’s so mean but so funny, and a lesson aang needed to learn haha
love the reaction but just wanted to clarify the sabertooth moose lion, a sabertooth is a lion aha. It's called sabertooth lion, like the one from ice age lol.
On the topic of Toph banding around the glider. In order to withstand the physics of flying that wood has to be crazy strong. Toph probably knew that his staff could be smacked around a little.
I like the nuance. Giving your student complaments and praise is great but you need them to have a stand your ground mindset then being reserved in your complements and approval makes sense. Katara’s style of teaching was never going to get Aang to stand his ground. He which is fine because she is a water bender. Toph understands how to bring out the stubborn mindset needed to move a rock. Even if that means being a jerk for a while.
No matter how many times I watch it, Zuko yelling at the sky and just breaking always hits me hard right in the gut. Such amazing voice acting
Ehh it never breaked me
When he screams "You never held back before!! " ugh hits me everytime -M
@@sachinjangid6480Yep, they just got engaged 💍
Any time Iroh talks at length, I get emotional. He's the uncle all of us should have.
Agreed, even from the show he can teach wisdom to all of us for different situations
He may be known as Zuko’s uncle from the start, but as the show progresses he becomes everyone’s uncle. That’s why we love him.
If you look closely, you'll see Iroh has been teaching Zuko firebending techniques based on other element styles. For example, zukos fire breath is based on the airbending focus on breath. Lightning redirection is waterbending, so on and so forth.

Right?! Glad you’re enjoying watching with us! 🫶🏼

Love that you guys are knockin' these out so fast.
Got to get ready for the Netflix Live action! 😁
Ahh uncle Iroh and his wisdom. He helps us all really ❤

Anyone one else hope they let Toph swear in the Live-Action version? I'm pretty sure that "pushover" wasn't her first choice of words.
I cant get over how the chick on the right side just keep smiling oat the most emotional sad moments. Like do not smile when zuko cries.
I’m showing my emotion through “smile-crying” lol it’s the way I cope with crying 🤷🏻♀️

If this is emotional, wait till she sees “Tales of Ba sing se”
It's so sad, it makes me tearbend!
I've seen dozens of reactions. I always cry.
it's just two animals, saber-tooth moose + lion.
Try to be prepared for the next two episodes 😮💨🥺. Especially 11.
