No ending theme? Also, I distinctly remember the invincibility theme having percussion (such as it is with chiptunes) as well... just throwing it out there. Keep bringing us all this 8-Bit awesomeness, though!
As the author of this channel knows (from my comments on his equally awesome Baseball Stars music tracks), I was born in Seattle in 1973, where I grew up. Japanese-American. I played Rush'n Attack in the arcade but didn't buy it for my NES until 2001 or so, when I was 28. I played it a LOT in 2002, and saw how surprisingly hard and frustrating it is! BUT, 2002 was the "last year in the good half of my life." My Dad unexpectedly passed away in 2003, and life hasn't been the same for me since. When I hear the NES Rush'n Attack music, I think about 2002, the last year I had with my Dad, how happy I was that year, and how he and I went to Japan together in 2002. I have long thought that I'd pass away in 2021 at the age of 48. I am still planning for my 2022 funeral, which I want to be MUSIC based. Kid music, Japanese kid music, 80s music, sports music, video games music, TV show themes, commercial music. If I am indeed in the final months of my life, Rush'n Attack is one of the memories I will cherish during these final months of my life.
I read your story, and i really want you to be aware of the fact that you still have a Loving Father who cares for you more then you can ever know! Jesus Christ is the only way to God the Father. He’s also the truth and the life. Read the Holy Bible to get to know Him in a personal relationship and please, repent to Jesus of all the bad things you’ve ever thought, done and said. He’s not looking to condemn us but to save us. Love to you in Christ Jesus.
- I guess the soundtrack was the strong reason why I wanna buy the NES console and play this game so badly back when this version first came out. Thank you, Wiiguy309!
The music alone is good, but the stereo effect makes it extra nice. Well done, sir. Here's to sirens, stabbing, paranoia and "making sure". Rush'n Attack. For the acoustic and stabbing win.
The track at 6:40 is a catchy tune... has a bit of a Russian theme to it. Also reminds me of those red jump-kicking douchebags. Apparently in this game, the best way to stop a jump-kick is with a jump-stab. Valuable life lesson there.
If I remember right, you didn't have to jump-knife the jump kickers or lay down to kill the low dogs on Nintendo, but you did have to on the arcade. I played the arcade first and always thought it was funny I could just knife the air on the Nintendo version. Must've just been the hitbox was different I guess.
Ok played game but I absolutely loved the 1st stage song. I was a young teenager when that game came out and I used to hum that song in my head...lol....
Two things: the invincibility theme (heard when you obtain a star) actually has percussion behind it, and you're missing the credits music... otherwise, this is a wonderful collection!
6:40 Now where have I heard _that_ tune before? No, no...I never beat Rush'n Attack in any way, shape or form. Let me think... [...thinking...] *The ending of Abobo's Big Adventure!* :-D [runs off to play Abobo's Big Adventure again]
Konami always knew how to make a good game. Not just the graphics and gameplay were memorable, but the music as well. It's as though they had a sense of what would be culturally significant (even if it's significance appealed to pop culture).
Using the Cold War for the sake of a pun. Classy. Even so, I still really like this game. Unlike Contra which is debateable, this game definitely superior to its arcade counterpart.
I remember my uncle giving me his NES a long time ago and this was one of my favorite games! Sadly Now I'm stuck with a crappy NES clone cause my NES broke. :c
Also, I agree that the NES version was better, if not for the music alone. I only remember the arcade version having military drums, instead of music. Though, it did have flamethrowers, which caused the enemy character sprites to briefly turn into flaming skeletons before fading away.
No guys it means Rush and then Attack while rushing he will attack thats why his mission is to destroy the Nuke Missle Rush'n Attack and he is not a russian soldier he is from Green Berets US Special Forces XD and thats why he keeps running and he will not stop XD
This version is only missing the noise channel to give it the "drum" feel, I wasn't as good in checking and realizing if the songs sounded correct, but the download link typically fixes any problems the video versions have.
***** Also, I think that "Weapon of Choice" *could* have gotten an extension to about 30 seconds, and perhaps a remix. Even though it seems like a short theme, I get the feeling that it could've been longer.
The Media: Cold War Truthers: They used war as a cover story to hide the fact they were nuking the glass sky Gamers: Who cares about any of that, we got a really great game out of it
I still remember getting home with this as a rental when it first came out....being a HUGE fan of the arcade version....I was SOOO pissed off over this terrible port.
This game is on my first cartridge. It's so dam hard. It's funny they put this game on the same cartridge with contra and castlevania as if they were testing if they should use up for jump or A, and use UP+B for special weapon or A. Fuck konami.
No ending theme? Also, I distinctly remember the invincibility theme having percussion (such as it is with chiptunes) as well... just throwing it out there.
Keep bringing us all this 8-Bit awesomeness, though!
There is an ending theme, but I guess he forgot to include it in the video. Perhaps he’ll upload an updated version at some point.
No one gets that far lol 😆😭😂

Bring back so memories
I just realized this video is missing one song from the game: the staff/ending/credits song.
Your channel really takes me back to my childhood. I will be browsing your videos forever. Thank you!
6:35 Super brainy express! A huge wave of enemies are approching!!
- I guess the soundtrack was the strong reason why I wanna buy the NES console and play this game so badly back when this version first came out. Thank you, Wiiguy309!

@@floexperiencetube 80s Nintento :)
Me and my cuz could never beat this game but god damn it if we didn’t get pumped and felt like we were putting our lives on the line lol
Iku Mizutani... eso explica porqué algunos temas suenan tan desgarradoramente épicos.
One of my all time favorites when I was a kid. Thanks for posting this one.
The track at 6:40 is a catchy tune... has a bit of a Russian theme to it. Also reminds me of those red jump-kicking douchebags. Apparently in this game, the best way to stop a jump-kick is with a jump-stab. Valuable life lesson there.
agentblammo learned the jump stab tactic the hard way ._.

2:30 Whether on the NES or the arcade, this was my favorite Russian Attack song!
Oh my childhood memories... i loved this game.
Ok played game but I absolutely loved the 1st stage song. I was a young teenager when that game came out and I used to hum that song in my head...lol....
Thar music when parachute out and climb the fence is so damn good.
Two things: the invincibility theme (heard when you obtain a star) actually has percussion behind it, and you're missing the credits music... otherwise, this is a wonderful collection!
ahhh When a knife was enough to defeat an entire army. Good times.
Note: Do not play the invincibility theme while driving on the highway. First hand experience. You just might want to drive very, very fast.
😁обязательно попробую.
Beat goes on and on
All I can say is this was one of my best games !!!!
. Thanks for uploading this. Wii Guy you rock.
I freaking love and breathe the oroginals.. but, I still love to listen to these wiiguys stereothings :) These sound magnificient too.
6:23 Doubble Dribble
???
6:40 Now where have I heard _that_ tune before?
No, no...I never beat Rush'n Attack in any way, shape or form. Let me think...

*The ending of Abobo's Big Adventure!* :-D
[runs off to play Abobo's Big Adventure again]
Its the boss theme.....
The "PAL" version of this song is my favorite, because it brings me more nostalgic memories/nostalgia. Trust me!
Also Available as "Green Beret" (Original name in Japanese Arcade Version) but made for the Nintendo Famicom Disk System at the same 1987.
Konami always knew how to make a good game. Not just the graphics and gameplay were memorable, but the music as well. It's as though they had a sense of what would be culturally significant (even if it's significance appealed to pop culture).
my favorite nes game
this game is the first co-op that made me fight with my friends
Contra for me.
Last boss music is EPIC
sounds like Iku Mizutani compose it(check shatterhand or shadow of the ninja soundtracks). i bet stage 2 theme also doing by that guy.
Yesss.... Takes me back to the 6th grade. Damn, I'm old.

uno de los mejores juegos nes, nose como no pudieron incluirlo en sus 30 del mini
This "ost" is INCOMPLETE! Missing: Game Over Theme, Life Loss, looped stages- and boss- themes...
+TheDAN529 Any songs that were missing in videos are fixed and put in the download link in the description.
and the ending theme.
You say that about every OST i know about XD
"la sol fa mi fa sol fa mi re"
I think that was the tone of life loss music when I heard it as kid lol
Using the Cold War for the sake of a pun. Classy.
Even so, I still really like this game. Unlike Contra which is debateable, this game definitely superior to its arcade counterpart.
It was Green Beret everywhere but the American NES if memory serves me correctly.
I remember my uncle giving me his NES a long time ago and this was one of my favorite games! Sadly Now I'm stuck with a crappy NES clone cause my NES broke. :c
Great job! This WA one of my favorite games. I was trying to get the opening for my alert tone, but i can't find it.
Also, I agree that the NES version was better, if not for the music alone. I only remember the arcade version having military drums, instead of music. Though, it did have flamethrowers, which caused the enemy character sprites to briefly turn into flaming skeletons before fading away.
The Drop is my shit!
I LOVED THIS GAME!
Wow what a great soundtrack just imagine if CALL OF DUTY was made in the 80s
A life saver Wiiman!!
Hand to hand combat fighting action!!!!!! Excellent game'''
New episode of game scoop brought me here
That is the weirdest gun I've seen. Shoulder fired laser cannon or something?
Yeah whats up with that gun.
Did Konami ever have a good bad soundtrack on NES? Another good one!!
where is Ending music ?
Memories :,) thx men, can you upload Captain Tsubasa 2? Please *o*
What about the tunnel theme, exclusive on the Famicom Disk System?
You forgot the Death & Game Over jingles.
Russian Attack!)
I remember as a kid my friend and I couldn't figure out if it meant Russian attack or not. English isn't our first language.
Cold War P. S. I'm from 🇷🇺
No guys it means Rush and then Attack while rushing he will attack thats why his mission is to destroy the Nuke Missle Rush'n Attack and he is not a russian soldier he is from Green Berets US Special Forces XD and thats why he keeps running and he will not stop XD
What's even worse is pressing up to jump with the Xbox 360's left analog stick.
haha yeah. especially for running around with a knife. By the way, does anybody know if the instruction booklet have one of those crazy stories?
this game's intro make me think it as Superhero game
The Last Boss song sounds like something from Castlevania ^_^
GBelair has a different version of the invulnerability theme.
This version is only missing the noise channel to give it the "drum" feel, I wasn't as good in checking and realizing if the songs sounded correct, but the download link typically fixes any problems the video versions have.

Couldn't you get that NES refurbished or something?

HOLY SHIT YOU HAVE RUSHIN ATTACK!!! YOU ARE AN OFFICIAL DIETY!
Dont Bring a Knife to a Gun fight: THE GAME!

that final boss was a letdown.....EASY PEASY
final boss theme sounds like the castlevania final boss theme....
Shares one of the composers
Such a hard fuckin game
USELESS FACT: The original Japanese title of the game was Green Beret.
Invicibility theme ruin
Green Beret : )

Green Beret 👍
Мне кажется последний трек из Кастл Вания 🤔

That guy in the cover looks like Sadam Hussein.....
Punniest game title in video game history XD tell me that first stage music didn't make you feel like freakin' Rambo?
the ammo burst on the front cover Looks so stupid
Russian Attack, so the game to avoid problems renamed Green Barret
Green Beret.
Russian attack :)
