      ***** At the time, people said that Starfox (on SNES)had the best graphics. Look how long that lasted. The Sega saturn and Ps1 were released less than 2 years later. The only reason I (and virtually everybody else) still play it is because of the gameplay.

    • @MedalionDS9
      @MedalionDS9 4 года назад +6

      @@sirbattlecat High resolution didn't mean literally as we know it today as in HD... it meant more unique lit/colored pixels in the sense things looked more detailed in a frame compared to earlier video games like the Atari or Collecovision... the detail was higher in relation to what came before.

    The artwork. We've got, A castle on Death Mountain, an oddly placed grumpy looking cat head, Mechagodzilla, a deep-sea whale fish, bigfoot and of course RoboCop- i mean MegaMan! Pretty cool.

    First GREAT video game soundtrack I ever heard. It's like they were the first to make a real attempt. I used to select a stage and just let it sit there as background music for doing stuff around the house IRL. The only 8 bit game with music good enough to just listen to any song alone, totally outside of the context of the game. Totally blew my mind!

    Capcom really made a masterpiece here. This game is so cool, so good... Controls, difficult, enemy design, MUSIC, all elements were placed perfectly together. The sequel kept the good work, but then I can't help but think that they lost something starting with Mega Man 4.

    • @ToxicAvengerX
      @ToxicAvengerX 10 лет назад +1

      I gave you a thumbs up, but I disagree megaman 4 and 5 were still cool imo. I think it started to suck when mega man 6 came out and I think things started to kick ass again when they brought MM to the snes XD

    • @rgr2508
      @rgr2508 10 лет назад

      I like MM4, too... Pharaoh Man and Ring Man were two of the coolest bosses of the series, and it has some cool new stuff, like the extra weapons and the Mega Buster (wich is MUCH better in MM4 than the MM5 and MM6 versions).
      But for Mega Man 5 and 6, I really can't put it at the same level of the others... My opinion, of course. They took some "classic" elements from the games that should be left alone.

    • @zerozebra
      @zerozebra 9 лет назад

      ***** nah, OP is on point here, everything went downhill after megaman 3, difficulty, music plus they were runnin out of ideas, they even had the audience pitch them ideas to bosses which loses all credibility to me. But the soundtrack on this was truly stellar, and megaman 3 was a really good prequel.

      I love Mega Man 5 as much as any of the other games and think the Mega Buster was far superior there than on MM4 and MM6. Funny how people can experience such things differently! While they should have given each game more "time" I enjoy all the games on the NES very much. All six are among the best on the system! I would love to find Mega Man 9 and 10 done for the classic NES. I'd buy it so fast even Quick Man couldn't stop me!

    My anthem for Mega Man 2 is always gonna be Airman. It was the first stage I picked (because for some reason the manual suggested it), and the music caught me immediately. It was the week between Xmas and New Years and I finally got somebody to drive to the local store to spend the money I got for Xmas. I had longed for this game for months. Me and my brothers sat day and night to beat this game - preferably before school started. And we did. So many memories.

    Damn good game and my favorite of the series. This was a hard game to get back in the day. Sold out everywhere...local rental store had a copy and wouldn't sell it to me despite me begging them. I called so many times they just started hanging up on me, lol. Unlike a lot of players I'd played and beaten the first one before the sequel came out...so although they nerfed the difficulty a bit too much (even on the difficult setting) they still created a much more balanced game than the first one. The first time I got to the final boss is one of my best gaming memories of the 80s...good times. :)

    I always loved the soundtrack on this game. My favorite tracks are Metal Man, Bubble Man, Wood Man, Air Man, Flash Man and the Boss Battle music.

    @Max: You think this boxart is bad? The first Mega Man game had THE worst art cover.

    Best music from all the Mega Man videos games.
    Mega Man 2 by far the best of the series...

    To be honest, I love what you're doing with these. It's like hearing the same songs with a fresh set of ears. If I wanted to hear the originals, there are tons of other RUclips channels who have uploaded them. You're doing something different, and I thank you for it. :)

      @@sabin97 that's because that's the image I got when I first saw it. I describe the Shatterhand guy as "the drunk uncle at the barbecue who starts a fight because someone knocked his beer over." Seriously. Don't those sunglasses look like the shades someone like that would wear? 😎🤣

    Ah, Mega Man 2. Well, I didn't play that game for years and years. But my local gameshop got a german Mega Man 2 version. Lives in Sweden so yeah, it worked great. I sat down, and played the game. The fun thing is that I knew everything on the game. So I sat and I cleared the entire game without dying once. And I was baffled to maximum. So now when I try to do the same thing again. It is just soooo fucked up. Now I dies like 4-5 times before I clearing the game. Damn you MEGA MAN! But yeah, one perfect run in a life time. I am happy with that. :D

    Was pissed when I first learned how this was supposed to sound --- growing up in Europe, we had the slowed down PAL version -- which to me had slight melancholic / sad touch to it ( not knowing it slowed down). Goddamnit!! : ^ )
