Honestly I befriend with one of the composer named Akiropito on twitter, that's like 4 years or 6 years ago. But then he changed his Twitter to a new one. Sadly, I forgot his new twitter handle.
Anyway, he said that they are using special equipment to made those sound. He never mentioned any name or brand associated with the device they are using, but I guess it's a synthesizer or something between the line. I am really happy to met him virtually, he's a nice guy. And yes, CHC music are badass!

Best opening to a Contra game
SNES kids had Contra 3, and that's a cool game.
But no one can convince me that Hard Corps isn't THE COOLEST CONTRA GAME. Just listen to this soundtrack! banger after banger! Hard Corps is easily one of the top 5 soundtracks on the system, alongside Ristar, Sonic 3K or Streets of Rage 2
Imo this system sounds bad, but yea, maybe Hard Corps in one of the top of it. For me coolest Contra game is Contra 4 or Operation Galuga, mostly because I'm a fan of first Contra and both titles from WayForward are like a love letters to the original.
Coolest moment in Contra history is definitely when you play Contra 4 on Hard Mode for the first time. Starting in a Jungle with great remix of Jungle theme. It was so unexpected, badass and epic. Honestly, can you have a better feeling with any other Contra game? :)

The hardest thing about the game is trying to pick a favorite track. They all sound so bad ass!

I can't get over how good Last Springsteen is as a boss fight theme. I remember being a kid and just completely blown away at the reveal of the alien core at the top of the speeding missile. It was so weird and grotesque compared to the robots you're fighting at the beginning of the game, and pairing that shock with the pounding double bass drums made for a moment I'll never forget!
I still remember how I was amazed when I saw that level. It was in small local -place where the owner has been renting Genesis to play in store.
Local kids always played Contra Hard Corps here and and one day some guy managed to get to this level and beat up the game.
That day convinced me that everything is possible.
14:55 Yoru no Nikusyokujyu - absolute banger love it
It's incredible how the levels combine with the music, the stages, the bosses, the weapons, the characters, the inventions, I love that motorcycle that turns into a mechanical emu! this game is a work of art ! Fang ! They made a badass wolf and gave him sunglasses!! s2 !
Soundtrack is way ahead for its time and especially compared to other complex OSTs they understood the hardware better. Also titles like R.A.V.E..... and JB303 (reference to the legendary TB303 synth) these dudes were going to a lot of underground shows hence their dope taste in music.

"Adventures of Batman and Robin" by Jesper Kyd pushed hardware even further. But I agree that Hard Corps OST belongs to top 3 on Mega Drive.

Best Contra ever made besides alien wars. That dog wolf wearing sunglasses blue jeans Terminator like arm and that can stand upright and use a firearm blew my mind when I was a child.
My go to character every single time!!!! My one brother would always pick the robot, and ironically my other brothers name is Ray😄

Konami and Capcom where going amazing things at this time... Problem was Contra was known as a Nintendo game, and many didn't even realize Sega had a Contra!

You can practice it playing the Japanese version, where the characters can take three hits before loosing a life

1:07:01 I will never forget the sheer elation of being able to say I beat this in one take on one magical night. Not to say I didn’t get a game over a zillion times before, but I beat this game in a near-perfect run one special night and just could not hide my emotions.

Some of the songs (mainly "The Hard Corps, see 17:35") has a Gooey Hit percussion sample that was sampled right out of the beginning of "Lemon Crush" from Prince's Batman (1989) album. Yeah, I'm not even kidding, look for yourself!

One of the best OSTs ever in my opinion, along with Ecco the Dolphin, Mortal Kombat II and Silent Hill. By the way, Akira Yamaoka had a hand in composing this. A work of an unparalleled quality. This is the case when you cannot play the game with the music off.

Goddamn, GTR Attack! and Moonlit Army are just some of the best tracks ever composed. The build up is insane! These kind of tracks would sound so awkward on the SNES.

I could make it sound non-awkward. There's a SNES synth bass sample that's also quite funky. But yeah, this is not a bad OST.

Akira Yamaoka is a great composer! Everything he touches turns to platinum! And I know this is Kobayashi's brain child. But additional work of Yamaoka is remarkable... Or maybe it's just a fanboy talk)))
but.... Hiroshi Kobayashi is the composer for Contra HC
Yamaoka at that time would not be allowed to do anything but regulate audio levels. You greatly overestimates his influence on this project

Hell yeah! This is by far the most memorable Genesis game I've bought off Amazon thus far! I hadn't been more excited to get a game in the mail my entire life! Easily one of the best Contra games out there. Dare I say, the best Konami game there is!

+Moop Bread Okay I stand corrected. I just started playing Castlevania Symphony of the Night, and I can say with confidence that that is indeed the best Konami game out there.
Moop Bread Symphony of the Night, Silent Hill 2, and Metal Gear Solid 3 all give Hard Corps a run for its money. But its definitely in my top 10 favorite Konami games. And thats saying something considering how many fantastic games they used to put out.
Look into The adventures of batman and robin for the genesis. Excellent gameplay and some of the sickest tunes of the 16bit era

Man, I played all my games on a 13" Trinitron with mono sound output and a dinky RF cable. Listening in HD stereo is a real treat! Love the upload quality.

I didn't even notice they inserted a Castlevania track on the first listen and the title is a dead give away massive tempo speed up on it with a very drum pounding beat.

While the whole soundtrack is purely brilliant, I want to especially thank authors for Foggy Cave in the Darkness.
While other tracks are filled with adrenaline-fueled agression and intense action, this one is slow, haunting, chilling and that's why it gives you a totally different feeling: this is the end of your path. You've come to the very heart of the aliens. Either you win or fall, no matter, it ends here.

Never really played or listened this, but it's another Konami musical classic they managed to do some amazing stuff with such a scaled down and much more limited Yamaha FM chip relative to their professional line up of FM music synthesizers. That AC Violence track is great I'm gonna have to give this some more attention and listens sometime for certain. Yoru no Nikusyokujyu has some crazy stuff going down too digging the composing on this VGM Konami brought some high octane fire to this.

Siempre me pareció espectacular lo bien captada que esta la escencia de un futuro apocalíptico atacado por Aliens y máquinas, sin duda expresa esa desesperación de un combate armado y la oscuridad de algo cruel pero a la vez genial, alguna pieza es mas catastrófica que otra, pero en general todas las composiciones logran completar esa realidad oscura y de raros robots, mi personaje favorito siempre fue fang, momentos que nunca olvidaré.
