I love, love, love these shoes. Not for hiking though. These make AMAZING shoes for golf. Great traction, super comfortable, and keep your feet bone dry. The speed lace system works great also. They look nice too, on the course and off. Hope Solomon continues to make this shoe.
Have you done a long term test now? The previous non GTX model got holes in the fore foot flex very soon in first 150 miles. The blast has those extra pieces of material I guess to prevent that.
Hi! I ran in these all winter and they held up extremely well! I'm not a wizard when it comes to shoes, but for the beating they took in the snow/ice/mud, they look and feel fantastic!
@@subanne thanks Suzanne. I ended up getting my original model replaced on warranty with the newer blast version (not gore-tex). Those are on 340 miles of running and no indication of any repeat of the issues of the previous model so far. So Salomon took customer feedback seriously and fixed this on the Blast Model.
Dang bro, just stumbled upon your channel when trying to find out some decent shoes to run in winter. Thanks for the insights and review and congrats for hitting 1k!
So I do a lot of outdoor stuff, hiking, camping, flyfishing. I’m looking for something that is an all around shoe. I have boots not looking for a boot but a shoe I can use as every day use. You think this would be ideal? This will be my go to shoe for my outdoor and fly fishing trips.
@@rmkvisions have you got in the new Speedcross 5 Gore-Tex? I was thinking those might be a good shoes. Some area I adventure into have rock areas. Not trying to get anything where I can feel those rocks poking through the bottoms
To be honest the Speed cross is much too technical for everyday wear. They can actually be worse on rocks because you actually have less surface area on the underside of the shoe because of how aggressive the lugs are. It's more for either snow or muddy conditions when trail running. I think the shoe or the XA pro would be better
Hi thank you for this review. Do you can tell what is the difference between the supercross blast and supercross blast gtx.... I think it is Gortex... but I m not sure
Great review, thank you 👍🏻 when you compare them with the xa pro 3d, can you say that the main difference is being breathable? So you can wear the xa pro 3d also in the summer for hiking and trekking? Of course the supercross is a more trail runner shoe but can you tell how do you choose which pair you wear :)
To be honest I think both are funny breathable, I haven't really noticed a lack of breathability on the supercross. The XA Pro is more of a sturdy stable hiking shoe as opposed to a trail runner I like them both but for every day where the XA Pro is much more suitable
Hello, I like your review. I have in mind to buy a nice pair of salomon. I like this model, but is it suitable for use in general city life? Some people said it did well on hard surfaces, even on hard and wet surfaces. If it's like they say, I want to take it with my airmax 95 shoes as my second main daily shoe. If it's not for the city, is there a rugged, waterproof, urban shoe you can recommend? i also used a few columbia shoes i was happy with them Thanks in advance.
Hey there thanks for the question. This shoe is definitely not the best on hard surfaces but I wouldn't say that it's going to handicap you at all. I would look into the x ultra for GTX from Salomon this would probably do a little bit better on hard surfaces. The lug pattern on the bottom is not quite as aggressive. I hope this helps
i was wondering if these were good shoes for a mailman :) i do my routes on foot, i know its getting warmer but are these still good for the task? wondering if they were too warm or could you recommend any other shoe that were better than these. also they are currently -45% off right now so thats why i was interested in these
I really wouldn't recommend these for long-term use on cement or asphalt. The outsole will wear down very quickly I would stick with a roadrunning shoe with good support and cushion. If you were looking at getting these for colder months or for snow etc I think it would be a good option!
Typically no, they are a little bit too aggressive for harder and dry surfaces. If you wanted more of a crossover shoe from Salomon I would suggest the Sense Ride 3. I have a review on my channel of those!
The rubber compound that Salomon uses is a much more aggressive pattern and softer rubber for traction on trails and snow. This rubber will Wear down much quicker on pavement or asphalt/treadmill use. It's not that it would be a bad road running shoe it's just that it would wear down much quicker than a normal specific roadrunning shoe. It is much like how winter tires will wear down much quicker in the summer if you drive on them year-round. I hope this helps!
@@rmkvisions gotcha, thank you so much! I just ordered adidas terrex agravic TR gore-tex trail running shoes ( www.adidas.com/us/terrex-agravic-tr-gore-tex-trail-running-shoes/FW2690.html ) after I saw comments talking about using them for snow on and off trail. What do you think about these in terms of multipurpose road and trail shoes during snowy season? (just thought I would ask now since there's still time to return lol)
I actually work part-time at a running store so I've learned quite a bit about shoes over the last year. Those actually look very nice, I've never had any experience with them but I know Adidas makes a good product. The outsole and lugs on that look much less aggressive than the ones on the alpha blast so they should be better!
@@rmkvisions Hi, I play fieldhockey and wanted to buy these salomons. Is it a good shoe to use on a fieldhockey court? Can you do fast turning on the shoes with short tempo changes (sprints etc). Thanks in advance

Does it slip on wet surfaces in the city?
