Great review. Thanks very much. I started running just over a year ago and have been using a cheap no-brand vest off amazon, which has worked pretty well but I'd like to invest in something better designed & built now I know for certain that I'll be continuing with my running. I've used Osprey packs for years for hiking and camping so it seemed like a no-brainer to consider them for a new running vest.
Been using my Duro 6 for exactly a year now and I love it. Comfortable, breathable, great fit, several pockets, good for beginners and advanced runners. I fill the 1.5L bladder with water and put two 0.5L soft flasks with GU powder in the big front mesh pockets. I fill the small front mesh pockets with 3-4 gels, easily accessible. Two weaknesses: (1) I have to tuck the chest straps or else they flop around a lot and (2) it's really hard to clean and completely dry the 1.5L water bladder. Like nearly impossible. I had to replace it once because it got pretty gnarly... Not sure if the cleaning tablets that Osprey sells work but I may try them down the road. Great review!
It is the best trail pack I have ever used for sure. I absoutley love all of the pockets. Does your bladder open up along the top fully? This may be a new featuer as mine is pretty easy to clean! Thanks for the kind words, Cheers! - Trevor
I've had mine for more than 3 years. Use it at least a couple times a week. Wash it twice a month. No problems at all. A few months ago the Osprey Logo peeled off and some of the other overlays - but it's only aesthetic and probably looks better without it.
It does come with a one and a half liter bladder however I think you’d be able to fit a 2 L in there if you really wanted I don’t think it would add any stress necessarily

Old bladder trick - stick it in the freezer to keep bacteria from growing when not in use. :)
Once you clean your reservoir store it in the freezer, this stops bacteria build up and allows far longer use.
I run at South Valley often. Deciding between the Salomon Active Skin 8 or the Osprey Duro 6. Tough choice.
This Osprey is by far my favorite. It’s simple and works well, carries the weight perfect.
Will a 6.7" smartphone fit in a zippered pocket that has a shoulder strap?
How's it holding up?

Would a 2 Litre bladder fit in the pack okay or would it add too much stress on the pack itself?
