I've been waiting for a well detailed review on this vest before I buy it. Appreciate you taking the time out to make this video. I'll be buying an osprey now and they have you to thank for it!
Thank you again for the video. I saw it on sale at REI for $54 as clearance and I just couldn't pass it up !! Especially the bladder is included! Only one too ! So I am wearing the same red duro6 vest now 😁👍
Osprey products are generally well designed and durable. I own a few Osprey items for hiking. Recently bought a hydration vest with input from a previous video you did about them, I just found the Ospreys to be pricey for how often I do long runs. Thanks for the product reviews, very useful and I trust your advice!
Thanks for commenting. The REI vest was my first foray into running vests and convinced me that I prefer them over a pack. When I came across the Osprey, I thought it would better meet my needs, but I still recommend the REI vest. In fact, I gave it to my daughter and she loves it! Thanks for watching the video!
Deciding between salomon adv 5 and duro 6. Salomon seems to have some serious durability issues but is lighter. I wonder how many times the osprey chest straps can be undone before they break. What a dilemma.
I can only say about the durability of the Osprey chest straps is that they are holding up well in my vest. I don't know how much lighter the Salomon is, but durability is important to me. I don't want my gear breaking down when I need it! Thanks for watching the video and commenting!
Excellent video, as always! I noticed that you also reviewed the REI Swiftland Hydro Vest in a separate video. Which one do you like better? At what running distances do you feel a vest is necessary? Would one need a vest when running a 10K? I'm guessing a Half Marathon would definitely require one. I'm trying to calculate about when I should purchase one and get used to wearing it as I advance my running distances. Also, are hiking poles required on trail runs? So much to learn in this sport...
I like the Osprey better as it has a zippered pocket on the front strap where I can put my phone. My daughter uses my REI vest and loves it. My general rule of thumb is if I expect to run longer than 40 minutes (trail or road), then I’ll want to bring water, therefore, I’ll wear my vest. Hiking (trekking) poles are not required for trail running, although I recently acquired a pair to try. I’ll probably do a video on them sometime in the future. Great questions. Thanks for watching the videos!
@@TheAgelessRunner Thanks for answering my questions! I saw these vests (REI, Osprey) on sale for a very reasonable price ($45-$67), so I'm looking to grab one in my size. Even if I never run past a 10K, this pack looks great for hiking or biking, too! Thanks, again!
@@TheAgelessRunner thank you for the reply. will pick up a pair of 500ml instead of the 600 I originally planned to get. prob will pick one up this vest soon for my 13+ miles long runs. carrying water bottle in hand is too annoying for long runs! BTW, Love your contents! keep up the great work~!
@@TheAgelessRunner forgot to say I also Subbed ! one more question, how do you wash this ? machine wash gentle cycle ? I can get very sweaty after a long run here. thank you
I just got this 3 yrs later, crazy how its been upgraded yet no one has a detailed updated video. Thank you
You're welcome! I'm glad it helped.

nice review! question, can it fit 600ml Collapsible Soft Flask Water Bottle in front pocket ? i know it fits 500ml
Thank you! I can only say that my 500 ml collapsible bottle is about 2.2” in diameter and it just fits in the pocket. Thanks for watching the video!

Thanks for subscribing! Osprey recommends hand washing: www.osprey.com/us/en/fitting-learning/pack-care
hi buddy how do you attach the poles
I've not done it myself so i cant answer your question, but there are loops on the vest for that purpose.
