My nephew works for Big 5 and he bought Superfeet insoles and said that his feet felt great. I have flat feet and was issued orthotics in early 2000's by a Podiatrist, those eventually fell apart years later. Recently I have sustained a foot fracture, nerve damage on the arch of my foot and on=going back pain. He got me a pair of Superfeet about a month ago and the nerve pain has gone away completely. The back pain is also getting better. I had him order another pair so I can keep one in my running shoes and one for my regular shoes. I Googled Superfeet insoles and came across your informative video. Looks like my nephew had a good idea to recommend these insoles.

Great video! I am a 20+ year runner. In my 40s ran road marathons. Always used superfeet. In my 50s took up trail running. For some reason I didn't use the superfeet. I am now 59 and started having PF issues. Done PT, chiropractor, dry needling and tried all kinds of orthopedic incerts. I forgot about superfeet. Went back to superfeet and I am running again 🙌. I am not at 100% recovery, but I am able to run 2 miles so far. I shouldn't of never stopped using superfeet.
You left off Birkenstock insole orthotics! I have worn various orthotics since the 1960’s (steel, ugh, I gave up on those) then various custom made hard and soft orthotics for running, and to various off the shelf orthotics for hiking, golf, etc. For walking and golf (I no longer jog), the Birkenstock Blue Sports are far and away the most supportive and effective orthotics that I have ever worn. I have about 8 pair for various shoes and boots.
I tried to rank based on the most Google searched insoles, I guess technically there are 100s of less popular brands, but very interesting, I will have to take a look 🙂
Why would you need 8 pairs when by their very design you can transfer the same pair between shoes? I don't understand your thinking with that. Someone else said the same thing, that they've bought two pairs for different shoes, so I'm just curious?
@@messybutmeaningfulThe more often you wear them, they wear out and lose the support and cushioning. It’s better to have them for all of your shoes for that reason.
I work walking on concrete so I had major foot pain. I bought 10 dollar insoles from Walmart (air plus heel gel) no I have no issues at all. I can walk all day if needed lol
Ninja orthotics are the best I ever had. They are half orthotics that slip under the insole on your heel side. It works for me, and it is great in most of my running shoes.
Dr. Scholl's - I've done a lot of research on these custom fit inserts lately. Turns out the only two factors that are considered in determining which numbered insert you get are (1) your shoe size and (2) whether you have a high or standard arch or you have a low / flat arch (yes, high and standard are both the same number). And, based on my use of them, as stated in this video they don't provide support, just comfort.
Superfeet are really hard, and I wore them for years. I believe the permanent ache I have in the heels and balls of my feet started with and was caused by Superfeet. (At that time, barefoot running was in vogue so I didn't realize hard surfaces could so damaging to the foot.)
What's your thoughts on Vibrathotics? I got these from the FSA store and they vibrate via remote control, are rechargeable and claim to reduce fatigue and have other health benefits. They were $99.00 in still not sure what i think of them.
Wish I could see you closer! But seriously customer service and better results should be expected by the patient, it is a shame to see what has happened to the health care system
Wow, but really not surprised. After seeing many foot/ankle specialists and podiatrists I've come to expect mediocre to poor treatment and have given up on them. The quality of healthcare in this country is not what it used to be.
Been using Dr Scholls for a couple years and theyre fine. But recently I got a job where I'm on my feet for 10 hours and they werent cutting it. I switched to superfeet and the difference was huge, no more pain.
Agree. That is my number one complaint about shoes today. I can't wear New Balance, Brooks, Asics . . . they keep getting more pointed and tighter in the toe box with each new update. I switched to Orthofeet.
@@DrTomBiernacki Just the dress shoes? I'm not sure what you mean. Are you saying that with Orthofeet you only recommend the dress shoes and not the Orthofeet sneakers? Do the sneakers not offer enough support?
I was just diagnosed with PF and Achilles tendonopathy from a podtrist. He gave me an xray bc I also was concerned about broken metatarsals due to a foot injury back in May. I had zero foot problems before this injury. He said from xray view nothing was broken and he did not even do a biomechanical exam barely touched my foot. He pressed on my heel to see the pain level and that was it. He sent me home with instructions to wear Redi- Thotics have you heard of those? I also see some people here on YT recommending Altra running shoes for PF. Any comments on those? Thank you so much. Wish you were in my area. If you know any good podtrists in the Atlanta area I would love a recommendation.
I do appreciate your kind words. I am in south-eastern Michigan, about one-hour drive west of Detroit. All the best to you!
I personally like to start with power steps or superfeet (linked below) or equivalent for most people. If it's too aggressive can go with something softer like gel until you get used to it
I’m just looking for something to lessen the stress my foot soles feel after a 13 hour work shift. I work in the kitchen and am basically a whole day on my feet
Great stuff Doc. My son is 19 yrs old. Cross country runner and long distance. His angle rolls inward..and has arch tendon issue when he pushes it hard.. His boney part at the arch is fairly pronounced..hes tryed high end orthotice..they all sucked. Way too think..especially around the heel. He just recieved an injection and man i wish we were close because we'd lovw to come by. What orthotics to you recommend for a super athlete?? Thanks Doc
We appreciate you watching! 😊❤🙏 For cross country running something on the lighter side might be more effective (like superfeet), in general for athletes they benefit from a more supportive orthotic outside of actual running, but then something lighter during running as you do need some impact absorption during the run. @Michigan Foot Doctor, great & comprehensive Reviews! For people lile myself here in San Diego, is there an option to purchase some of your pre-made orthotics from a website that you have?
Really would love to hear your opinion and review on Remind insoles, especially as a daily insole despite them being marketed mostly for snowboarding and skateboarding
What about FP Insoles? I bought a pair of FP Moldable Kingfoam Elites with the thicker heels. I am recovering from a shattered calcaneus which required surgery and 3 screws in it. Thank you in advance.
@dislikebutton5291 They definitely have a firmer and more dense feel to them. It's not a squishy soft like some inserts. I don't know if that's better or not. I'm 50/50 on them as far as protective support. I'm still comparing them to some other inserts. I hope this helps.
@@ShaneJMcNair thank you I’m currently using the stock ones in my new boots till they get somewhat worn so I don’t waste them. Next up I’ll try those out
This was so informative, thank you! I have some Orthofeet shoes and really like them, but I do have one question about the Orthofeet insoles that come with the shoes. Do you think the Orthofeet insoles provide good support and correction for overpronation? Or are the Orthofeet insoles more for cushioning only, not correction? Would really appreciate your thoughts on this. Thanks, Dr. Tom!
I have wide, flat feet. Got ankle surgery on the interior of my ankle and now I have chronic pain syndrome in my right ankle. I used to be able to run for miles, boxing and play football. I can’t do anything without being in pain now. What’s the best insole or orthodic I can use to help? I’m 6’0 235 lbs. or am I shit out of luck?
I have a very high arch and my feet tend to pronate while I run. I am looking for something that supports my arch and keeps me from overpronation. I am having a terrible time right now with plantar fasciitis and would love a recommendation from you on a good insole or orthotic to start with.

I have a pinched nerve between my little toe and fourth toe on my left foot. Wearing sandals are great but with shoes I must have a wide toe box area. Saw a podiatrist and got no help. Any suggestions appreciated!
Orthofeet shoes really helped me. I have the same issues (Moton's Neuroma, hammertoes). I need wide shoes with extra depth in the toe box -- very hard to find in any running or athletic shoes. I've tried every brand. The Orthofeet KITA in extra-wide have the toe box room I need.

have you used Move insoles? If so, what do you think of em? I've been using the All Day model, but some shoes are too narrow (thanks Nike) and I need a lower profile insert so I use the Move Game Day model for its slimmer fit
Personally I got my foot scanned for a clear for free in New balance store and found out that I had flat feet and needed an insole because my feet hurt a lot in cleats and when I got my insoles the pain went away but just so yall know I got carbon insoles for $60
I don’t have foot pain I just get two small calluses on each foot kinda annoying so little and they hurt like a mf any ideas on what insole or shoe might help me
Hey, wow. Here I was in pain thinking how do I explain to my various doctors my pain comes from many areas repeatedly HURTING ALL AT ONCE and and THERE is your diagnostic machine. Do you have any offices in NY?
I personally have a bunch of Superfeet and I just tried Power Step today at a local shoe store. The Power Step feel better. I tried the Aetrex, however you spell them. I didn't care for them. I hear your Michigan accent lol
Any recommendations for a hallux limitus orthotic that is stiff and has arch support? I've seen flat plate carbon fiber or composite inserts that goes under an insole but would love an all in one. Is my only option for this custom?

I just got out of my cast and then the boot from an October 8 ,2023 fall. Today being December 10,2023.I am using my Uggs slippers to try to walk again from a 75% healed broken ankle and fibula because of a fall off a curb. The thick sole feels better than bare feet on the bare floor. I don't have any pain or medical issues but just wear the outside heels of my boots like crazy (supination). Anyone here have advice to stop that? My boots are all snug fitting so not much spare room. Thanks
I like the walk heros. I had gotten two pairs of them on Amazon for $10 each a while ago. Now they about twice that much. Still not bad considering how good they are.
Doc can you please help me? What would you recommend for someone who has quite high arches & needs a comfortable slipper? Person has Rheumatoid Arthritis, plantar fasciitis, swollen/painful feet, wide across ball of foot; but is currently walking around barefoot indoors. The key is wearing a supportive shoe with supportive walls(not a sandal and not a shoe that has flimsy cloth material). If you have frequent ankle sprains a high top shoe or work boot may be necessary early. Or even a lace up ankle brace.
I bought aetrex shoes and 3d printed insoles and i feel i got scammed didn't work for me I don't feel comfortable when I walk in it the 3d printed insoles worked with hoka clifton 8 and i feel stable but i need something to correct my feets because it's a new problem not since i was born
It depends on the problem, but most commonly injections such as triamcinalone are injected near the heel to decrease inflammation temporarily (2-4 weeks usually)

AMAZING GREAT DR=TEACHER VIDEO - But I didn't like your opening. You totally recovered, redeemed, and excelled. Super promotional work as a system - the most for the least. Love that. And your 14:30 commentary on Big-Med makes my modest cautious hero grid near the top. Get into AI medical simulacra and run for U.S. congress I think.
Don’t waste your money on arch inserts, they DO NOT work over time, I know from experience, go barefoot on sand or grass every day if possible, this cleared my plantar in four weeks.
Not true. Most people don’t see dirt and sand every day most of us are on concrete/hardwood tile the majority of the day. Orthodics have helped me long term tremendously especially as an athlete and in my daily life. Every human is different and most don’t have a perfect gait
How on Earth he speaks Greek with Cypriot accent, when the video is in English? Did anybody transplant a chip in my brain, which does random translations to whatever I listen to?

Doctor's told me don't come in unless you want to pay $400 + $50 for office visit.
Thank you, and have a merry Christmas and an amazing New Year! 🙏😊
I wish the system was better for sure, it sucks what it is right now
G8?
Been using Dr Scholls for a couple years and theyre fine. But recently I got a job where I'm on my feet for 10 hours and they werent cutting it. I switched to superfeet and the difference was huge, no more pain.
Why do all shoes have pointed toe box? My first four toes are all the same length therefore they do not fit in a pointed toe box!
Agree. That is my number one complaint about shoes today. I can't wear New Balance, Brooks, Asics . . . they keep getting more pointed and tighter in the toe box with each new update. I switched to Orthofeet.
I think its to keep foot surgeons and podiatrist in business.@@sl2608
Just the dress shoes! 🙏😊
Thank you, and have a merry Christmas and an amazing New Year! 🙏😊
@@DrTomBiernacki Just the dress shoes? I'm not sure what you mean. Are you saying that with Orthofeet you only recommend the dress shoes and not the Orthofeet sneakers? Do the sneakers not offer enough support?
Hello. What would you recommend as a replacement insole, not necessarily for corrective reasons, but because the oem insole has worn out.
Great video!! what part of MI are you in? I'm in GR. also, would a visit to you be covered by insurance? Thanks!
I do appreciate your kind words. I am in south-eastern Michigan, about one-hour drive west of Detroit. You have to check yourself what kink of health insurance you have and to check if it is valid in Michigan.

All the best to you!
I couldn't run or play ball due to ankle and foot pain. My orthopedic changed my life when he told me I needed orthotic insoles.
I need support for my arch what is best?
I personally like to start with power steps or superfeet (linked below) or equivalent for most people. If it's too aggressive can go with something softer like gel until you get used to it
Have an amazing new year ❤️😊🙏
@@DrTomBiernacki thank you and you have amazing new year
I’m just looking for something to lessen the stress my foot soles feel after a 13 hour work shift.
For cross country running something on the lighter side might be more effective (like superfeet), in general for athletes they benefit from a more supportive orthotic outside of actual running, but then something lighter during running as you do need some impact absorption during the run.
If possible, we would appreciate a quick rating (hopefully good), as it makes a HUGE difference!

@Michigan Foot Doctor, great & comprehensive Reviews! For people lile myself here in San Diego, is there an option to purchase some of your pre-made orthotics from a website that you have?
Where can I see you in person? I am in southeast Michigan. Thank you
I will have 2 offices open in Bloomfield and Brighton Soon!
Why are my toes numb ? Been that way for 5 years. Im not diabetic
How do you like them? I was debating getting a set
Thanks, Dr. Tom!
I have seen two podiatrists and they never tested me like that.
I wish it could get better, I am hoping with channels like these we can make some improvements 😊
I hope you can get some help! 😊🙏
Hi
What do you think about cloud sole?
I have this problem too. Usually, people with high arches don't over-pronate it makes finding insoles complicated
Will PowerStep insoles work with the Nike Air Force shoes?
Informative. Thanks! Any orthotics that might help the beginnings of Morton’s neuroma?

THANK YOU FROM ISRAEL :)
I love orthofeet as well, not a bad options!
Orthofeet are a great option, as are vionics, clarks and spenco...

have you used Move insoles? If so, what do you think of em? I've been using the All Day model, but some shoes are too narrow (thanks Nike) and I need a lower profile insert so I use the Move Game Day model for its slimmer fit
Personally I got my foot scanned for a clear for free in New balance store and found out that I had flat feet and needed an insole because my feet hurt a lot in cleats and when I got my insoles the pain went away but just so yall know I got carbon insoles for $60
Also it was from super feet partnered with new balance
Could you review the prolatus t100 insole my job gives them for free but I’m wondering if I should buy the power step instead
Really good point @ 13:52, I agree
Any recommendations for a hallux limitus orthotic that is stiff and has arch support? I've seen flat plate carbon fiber or composite inserts that goes under an insole but would love an all in one. Is my only option for this custom?
what do you recommend for high arches with PF?
Where are you located

I suffer from flat feet and sadly my teenage kids who are athletes are now showing signs of my genetics. Any recommendations for teenagers with flat feet? You gave the older ppl a lot of love which is cool but don't forget about the youth and even us weekend warriors who still call ourselves athletes! 😂
GOOD MOVE OR BAD?
Personally I would get my patients into something like a mcdavid 3 payer ankle brace, a good tennis shoe for about 6 weeks
@@DrTomBiernackithank you, I really appreciate your opinion. I have been watching all your videos pertaining to broken ankle/fibula conditions, since month two of the healing process. I wear Powerstep. They're great but I'm not old. I'm just on my feet all day.
I don't have any pain or medical issues but just wear the outside heels of my boots like crazy (supination). Anyone here have advice to stop that? My boots are all snug fitting so not much spare room. Thanks
Do they have a slight heel lift?
@@DrTomBiernacki they have a decent heel. Vibergs, Iron Rangers, Alden Indy's....mostly service boots
I like the walk heros. I had gotten two pairs of them on Amazon for $10 each a while ago. Now they about twice that much. Still not bad considering how good they are.

What would you recommend for someone who has quite high arches & needs a comfortable slipper?
Person has Rheumatoid Arthritis, plantar fasciitis, swollen/painful feet, wide across ball of foot; but is currently walking around barefoot indoors.
They need something soft & comfortable to wear that preferably is adjustable (has velcro) as slippers & a separate outdoor shoe. Any suggestions, there are so many bad products out there!🙏🙏🙏

Will this cause your foot to roll to the side bec this is what I’m afraid of
The key is wearing a supportive shoe with supportive walls(not a sandal and not a shoe that has flimsy cloth material).
What would an injection do
It depends on the problem, but most commonly injections such as triamcinalone are injected near the heel to decrease inflammation temporarily (2-4 weeks usually)

Tread-Labs are much better then most of the brands mentioned in this video.
Don’t waste your money on arch inserts, they DO NOT work over time, I know from experience, go barefoot on sand or grass every day if possible, this cleared my plantar in four weeks.
ruclips.net/video/3elMryUe4a4/видео.html check out this video I did on barefoot shoes. I personally like them 😁
Not true. Most people don’t see dirt and sand every day most of us are on concrete/hardwood tile the majority of the day. Orthodics have helped me long term tremendously especially as an athlete and in my daily life. Every human is different and most don’t have a perfect gait
What if you have tibial dysfunction?
Bro I standing and hard hospital floor, I don't think barefoot will work.
