And so we reach the conclusion of this epic series. Will Moon Knight be able to come back and defeat Arthur Harrow and Amit? And will Jake Lockley finally be properly introduced into the show? More fun and adventure awaits in this final episode of the season.
Moon Knight ends just in time for the theatrical release of Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness (Benedict Cumberbatch, Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch / Wanda Maximoff). And after this we have more shows and movies to look forward to like Ms Marvel (Kamala played by Iman Vellani), Thor Love & Thunder (Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Christian Bale not as Batman or Bruce Wayne), Spider-Man 4 (Tom Holland) and The Marvels (Brie Larson as Captain Marvel and Samuel L Jackson as Nick Fury)!

7:43 Marc shared his heart with Steven, they became one.
Marc spent most of his life blaming himself for his brother's death. He wasn't going to spend an eternity paradise knowing that the only way in was to throw away the brother that helped him get through terrible times in life. I respect Marc's decision, here. If Marc could trade his life for Randall's he would, but he can't. Steven's a brother Marc didn't know he had until recently, and he's making the most of it!
Steven still has feelings for Layla, which has got to be awkward. Layla knows Marc was being manipulated and she understands what he was going through more now. Taweret filled her in about her father, so I don't think she blames Marc for her father's death now. Next season or the next time we see these two should be interesting. Jake too!
18:27 I don't know about that. Steven fought once and it didn't go well. He tried talking gunman down in Egypt and got impaled a couple of times. On Taweret's ship he realized that he and Marc are two sides of the same coin and that's when he realized that he could do whatever Marc could do. Layla was shown being able to take care of herself, so her fighting well didn't surprise me. Knowing how to use her powers doesn't surprise me either as they already established that gods speak to their avatars. Taweret told Layla that she had a "fabulous costume" for her, so surely she told her how to use it.
Well, done Achara! You did pick up on what Khonshu was saying when releasing Marc and Steven, but to be fair, Steven specifically requested that Khonshu release him and Marc, so that's sort of on Steven =P

Maybe we already got a glimpse of how Jake would look like in Khonshu inspired wardrobe.
If you see, in the credits, right before we see Mr. Knight, we see Moon Knight, but before him we see a ghostly, loosely bandaged, Mummy-like version of Moon Knight. I think that is Jake.
Except if the apparel is different, Layla has seen it already when Marc blacked out and took out Harrow.

This way we could build a relationship with Marc AND Steven first, get to know who they both are, letting them build their relationship with each other, letting Marc come to terms with his pain/regrets/feelings of loss and guilt...

Layla was able to use her powers so well was in large part due to willingly accepting them. Steven didn’t want them and actively was trying to reject them when he first put on The Suit and didn’t even try to fight the second time he put it on. Then in this episode with no training of any kind he was able to kick ass, because he accepted the powers and embraced them.
The powers literally are coming from a god. They don’t require a training manual. They’re already programmed and ready to go. You just have to be willingly to use them.

It's not even like she did something spectacular here...she mainly fought, we've seen her do that. Only power it seemed like she displayed beyond a power up was the mini flight thing.

The whole Layla vs Steven kicking ass thing you have to remember. Layla has years of experience of “liberating” Egyptian artifacts from looters. It was hinted that she and mark even did it for a bit of time, so she has had years of fighting people in a sense, while Steven is basically using marcs muscle memory to fight. Steven was the pacifist and never really fought at all. So when they finally United and became one heart Marc and Stevens body is “whole” which allows Steven to use marcs experience in a way. Also Marc has had years with his suit, so he’s been able to find ways of adapting and sing different gear.

    • @chrisrodriguez2543

Also when speaking about mark and Steven I don’t like the way “whole” or United sounds it’s a bit off, but it gets the gist on how I think Steven can fight all of a sudden.

This season of Moon Knight was clearly a story of Marc & Steven. Both of them coming to terms with themselves. Jake, the 3rd alter, is clearly something they want to hint at, but explore in future appearances.
Also, Marc didn't really save Steven... he was joining him in the Duat. Osiris saved them, according to Taweret (the Hippo)-she says, "Osiris, you softy!"

She also wasn't suffering from mental illness so her ability to adapt to fighting as well as already understanding the situations and stakes, she's gonna perform better and quicker than Marc/Steven. She can be a really capable fighter that surprises herself with the boundaries of her superpowers. Like Dash running on the water in the incredibles. It doesn't have to make her less capable but without it it makes it much more difficult in a visual language to let her grow, or for the tv audience to remember how wild those powers actually are in contrast with normal. This episode needed more time for plenty of reasons.

    1. Layla doesn't instantly know how to fight, she has been fighting her whole life, with Marc as Moon Knight, in the underworld looking for artifacts etc. when she turns into the Scarlet Scarab, it is seamless. Also, her father is the one who is the Scarlet Scarab in the comics. Marc was already a trained mercenary, I'm sure he flowed well after his transformation also.
    2. When Steven says he is "jazzed to show you these new skill sets we have", I'm sure he meant the team work between him and Marc. They flowed back and forth between each other, both with DIFFERENT fighting styles and combat, not weapons. They weren't fighting for the possession of the body anymore. Mr. Knight was not the "brutish" one of the lot, he relies on his intellect more than combat skills. He knows hand to hand combat, but is more likely to solve a crime with the police to lock them away in a civil way.

We finally get JAke!!!!!! Which is funny because we have seen all the seeds planted of him being there. Jake is the true hand of vengeance now and it makes sense because he is the most violent of all the alters. Nice little bow they put on this season. Obviously I Wonder Woman vibes so we waiting on those comparisons. Golden wings are beautiful I love that moon knight is the batman and she is the Wonder Woman that’s dope. In the beginning Marc and Steven are fighting each other now they are helping each other to fight switching from mr knight and moon knight. I wonder if they will have a separate suit for jake. Khonshu did Marc and Steven dirty because he is a manipulator oh yeah I will release you sure…. You got no idea about this other alter you have let me latch onto him. I like that Layla being an avatar sort of protects her. Let’s say jake didn’t exist khonshu still can’t take her after releasing Marc because she is already an avatar to another god.

  • @neilrobs
    @neilrobs 2 года назад +6

Marc already picked up the skills to be the Moon knight and killed many evil doers before he frequently switched with steven. The fact that Marc also is already a mercenary helped him control Moon knight powers. Steven realized who he was and that He and Marc is One and the same which may be the cause that abled him to access Marcs memories of training skills. This is possible because they are the avatar of Khonshu.
As for Layla, She is a thief, she maybe smuggles ancient artifacts, and maybe sell it in Madripoor. That alone says that she can fight because how would she survive madripoor without the skills to back her job. It's also mentioned that Khonshu wants her as his Avatar. Khonshu knows how capable she is and use it to trick Marc into thinking that she might be dragged by Khonshu and forcibly take her as his Avatar. Marc believed that also because he knows she is worthy and is capable. That being said I'm more hyped on what kind of hero Layla turn into be in the future of MCU.

    • @Souledex
      @Souledex 2 года назад

has she previously used Falcon's wings? cause otherwise "knowing how to fight" is such a dumb and utterly useless perspective on the skillset she immediately had. They can let her be cool without her literally treating it as not even novel, as instantly knowing her limits and capacity. There is a difference between "already capable" and literally developing an entire new fighting style in 1 second.

Thats probably the only reason why two giants fighting caused zero damage to the pyramids and surroundings even though they were falling on it.
P.S. The jackal in E2 was also metaphysical and hence we never saw any actual damage done by it in CCTV. It was actually just Marc as Moon Knight that caused the damage in bathroom while trying to kill it.

However, maybe we can ignore this bit by assuming she is an avatar and was already a badass, I guess the instinct to fight better is in her because of the given powers and prior experience.

Steven working in a museum and being around those in the historical and antique fields. While Jake (possibly) is more of a higher end driver/concierge with his limo and all; almost taking on the role of the comic Steven with the higher up end of society.
And in the MCU, at least as of now. Most of the crime, or threats, have been in relation to black martlet items, materials or artifacts.

Layla being a quick learner with her powers, I can believe that just by way that we've seen that she is already clearly a trained fighter, unlike a Peter Parker situation where that's like a normal everyday person suddenly having to deal with having powers, Layla was already a bad ass pre-super powers.

The reason he blacks out while killing Arthur is I think, the moment Khonshu takes over Jake. I was also not good w how Ethan Hawke's character was taken out but I think the scene represents a lot more especially as it's after the scales are balanced with Steven and Marc and they are in sync. They both realize after coming to, that it's not just them in the body.

Jake was delivered perfectly in the end scene, I thought I would hate him because of his"no mercy" type of character but he pretty good

I'm a huge fan of Layla's costume. Love the color scheme and the use of that copper-looking metal for the wing's feathers. Great work by everyone involved in this. Big time admiring the practical sets in this show too, glad they got to use the tomb room some more.
Seems like Jake is the rich one instead of Steven in the MCU. That's a clever twist, Jake being the rich but also murderous one.
    Meet my friend, Jake Lockley.
Holy shit that scene was badass.
This ending definitely sets up either a film or a season 2!!!

They changed the title from “series finale” to “season finale”. Hoping that’s an indication that we’re getting a season 2

about what jaby said i felt like layla figuring out and fighting was okay for me but stephen fighting like that really bothered me ,jaby told that he went through the difficulties ,but he was not trained or he didnt know to fight whereas layla already knew to fight
