Yea. I remember being so excited whenever it wud come on TV. And it was many years later that i realised that Ghost Rider too is a Marvel character.
I love how they did the graphics for the Penance Stare, as well as the mechanics of it. Turning someone's sins around on them and burning out their eyeballs in the process is a worse fate than death, in my mind.
It's like a more merciful version of what Samara does to her victims.

This movie got so much hate. I personally was entertained. The great story and fun action scenes make up for the predictable cheesy dialogue 😅

I love how this movie has been elevated to "so bad it's good" simply because of Nic Cage. The appreciation he has gotten recently is really funny to watch as someone who grew up seeing him in so many things.
Even though it was really wasn't discussed, the Ghost Rider is one of the most powerful beings in the MCU. He can literally judge the souls of gods and celestials and his strength and power eclipse a lot of the Marvel roster and his bike can reach the end of the universe as fast as Thor can in the comics. He is firmly in my top 3 all time favorites for Marvel characters
The mcu needs to make good use of him, johnny blaze not the one we got on AoS.

@@STARKILLER15100 yes, because he had killed innocents the penance stare would of killed him no problem. He used that on Galactus in a few comics and defeated him solo. Hell in one comic the guy he was fighting they both destroyed a galaxy with their powers clashing, he is really a massive powerhouse that everyone either forgets or skips over in comic discussions

The pointing thing isn't a Johnny Blaze reference, it's an Elvis reference. Nicholas Cage, being a comic book fan, knew that Elvis' biker leathers were a partial inspiration for the original Ghost Rider's look, so he played this with Elvis mannerisms and an Elvis-lite accent.
Wes Bentley is Blackheart. He also was in American Horror Story, The Hunger Games, Yellowstone, and American Beauty. Sadly, he's struggled with severe drug addiction for most of his adult life.

I watched this movie when i was a kid i remember thinking it was amazing. Now i know that its not the best movie but the childhood nostalgia i get whenever i watch it is just so good.

Reason why the henchmen looked so weak and were getting one shotted is because Ghost Rider's flames are Hellfire flames. Those things originated from Hell are very effective against demons.

That jail scene was one of my absolute favorites! It's why I love Nick Cage so damn much! Just seeing him struggle to resist the urge of giving in to the Rider, after being dumped in a place full of evil, rotten souls begging for the penance stare! Only Nick Cage can perform such a scene so flawlessly, and turn it into an iconic masterpiece! That's how I feel about that scene, and the whole movie! 1 and 2 are both my favorites, and no one can, or will, EVER do it better! Period! 😎🤟☠️🔥

Actually Gabriel Luna played Ghost rider in Agents of Shield series. and It was amazing and TBH a perfect cast and very well done.. Since AOS is a spin off series with actual characters from MCU films, Ghost rider is in MCU and I hope Ghost rider will be showing up in future MCU film/series and Gabriel Luna plays it :)

6:20 do not compare black heart to Spike just don’t. Mister Nicolas Cage is a huge comic book fan and actually has a ghost rider tattoo and has had it since way before he played ghost rider. At 23:14 ghost rider says “come here” they wanted him to say “get over here” as A reference to mortal kombat scorpion but were scared they would be sued.
Wes Bentley is also Jaime Dutton on Yellowstone. Also Sam Elliott won Best Actor in a Miniseries or TV Movie at the Screen Actor’s Guild Awards for his performance in 1883, the first prequel series to Yellowstone.
i cant wait to see Ghost Rider in the MCU. As much as how cheesy and campy this Ghost Rider film is, you cant help but still love it. I still think it was pretty good for the time and Nicholas Cage did a decent job, i think, in portraying the character. I love the Penance Stare. So cool. I really do hope we get the Midnight Sons in the MCU soon. :)

@@jamesmeechan6983 they are marvel but i'm talking about the MCU as part of the film side of things. And yes, AOS did have Ghost Rider but not the Johnny Blaze version which is the one i was thinking about. They had Robbie Reyes played beautifully by Gabriel Luna. Its also a shame that we never got to see more of that version of Ghost Rider and that his show was cancelled in the planning stages. Although it looks like AOS will be fully part of the MCU. The reason why i find it a bit difficult to acknowledge AOS as fully being part of the MCU is because the first few seasons were directly influenced by the films but it seems that subsequent seasons has kinda made AOS its own thing and its not necessarily linked to or tied to subsequent MCU projects. That looks like it will change though. I think characters from AOS will start to find themselves in upcoming projects. Sorry if i confused you initially

This movie is VERY all over the place 🤣🤣, but I will say, Nick Cage as Johnny Blaze, and Sam Elliot as Carter Slade was PERFECT casting for this! I just wish we got like a solid storyline with this character because honestly, next to Deadpool he’s probably one of the most unique Marvel characters that actually goes R rated a lot. Would’ve loved to see him against Thanos or something like imagine that lol
There's an artist named David Mann, that painted a famous/popular scene of a cowboy riding a horse along side a biker on a chopper, that is most likely the inspiration of the scene in the movie where Nick Cage(Ghost Rider) is riding with Sam Elliott (Phantom Ghost Rider)
So true fun facts, the devil in this movie is actually the first ever appearance of Mephisto who is the enemy of the group in marvel called the Midnight Sons and the second fun fact is at MCU is apparently in talks with Nicolas Cage to come back as Johnny Blaze The Ghostsrider

The way the element demons die actually does makes sense, with Earth you scorch it, with Wind you quite literally flame fan it out and Water you just have to boil till it evaporates and Ghost Riders power are all fire based so...

I met Sam Elliot at a coffee shop I worked at. We started talking and I said, where in Texas are you from? He laughed and said in the deepest accent, “I’m from Palo Alto.” Hahaaaa Super funny. Really nice man.
This was better than I remembered it being. It's very silly and cheesy but the visuals with Ghost Rider, especially riding up the side of the building or riding next to Ghost Rider Sam Elliot, were awesome. Like something off a heavy metal album cover.

Ghost Rider is just one of those movies where you don't have to take it so seriously in order to like it. This movie is almost like the Blade movies in terms of how Ghost Rider fights evil that's from hell but this is way better than Blade. So anyway, Nicolas Cage plays the wild stunt biker, Johnny Blaze who makes a deal to Mephistopheles (Peter Fonda) in order to save his father and in return has to forget about his life and his love, Roxanne Simpson (Eva Mendes). A few years later, Johnny's path crosses again with Mephistopheles to give up his soul to have Johnny become the fiery bounty hunter of hell, Ghost Rider in order to take down Blackheart (Wes Bentley), a son and enemy of Mephistopheles. Nicolas Cage did a great job playing Ghost Rider and of course it's always nice to see Eva Mendes on screen of course. The only thing that I didn't like about this movie is how they decided to put in a villain who turned out to be an easy defeat instead of picking one that would be more of a challenge but then again it's an origin movie so everything has to start off easy i guess. But hopefully there will a more challenging villain if y'all do a Ghost Rider 2. Overall i'd recommend this movie and I hope y'all do a Ghost Rider 2.
There is already a ghost rider 2 search on Google tiled ghost rider spirit of vengeance and the movie really dissapointed me they have a lot of potential with the Nicolas cage ghost rider but makers didn't use the full potential hope they will make another ghost rider movie with good story and direction 🤞

The Devil is played by Peter Fonda, who was the star of the classic motorcycle movie Easy Rider with Jack Nicholson and Dennis Hopper. In the scene when he comes to collect Johnny, the motorcycle he is riding is exactly like the Captain America bike except paint job that Fonda rode in Easy Rider. I laughed my ass off when the devil says “Say, that’s a nice bike”
A reminder, the real Ghost Rider demon Zarathos is another personality that takes over Jonny and Bobbie
People say its cheesy. People laugh at it. I think its awesome. I watched it when i was a kid. Now I'm an adult, and i still feel its badass. We are not the same.
So the penance stare is like ghost riders ultimate move it’s basically Hells time out corner, it’s make relive all the pain you delt to people physical or emotional for all eternity

For such a crazy, cheesy comic book movie, it had a couple of heavy hitter actors in it. Starting w/Nick Cage, of course, but also Peter Fonda as the Devil & Sam Elliot(love him in everything!). This was really fun & I’m glad you both enjoyed it. 😊
