As citizen of the US, both this movie and Hot Fuzz were very culturally relevant to a child of the 90’s. World’s End less so, but still a great movie.
Same here. Shaun of the Dead I think is what introduced me to Simon Pegg, so I was always down to see more from him.
yup, still referred to as a trilogy pretty frequently in the States.
I’m 25 from the US and even for people my age Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz were inescapable. I had two friends who had one each on dvd when we were kids and would watch them all the time
As an American I can confirm that the entire Cornetto trilogy is revered and loved by most Americans.
i have a massive soft spot for worlds end simply because i managed to go in completely blind and DAMN i thought for like 15 minutes "okay, he`s gonna wake up in a pool of his own vomit any second now. oh, its still going, wait, is this... is this happening? oh god this is actually the movie now"
I'm here in the States. I've seen the movie; some of my family and friends have seen it. My favorite of the Cornetto Trilogy is Hot Fuzz, but Shaun of the Dead and The World's End are a lot of fun, too.
Thank you for adding my FAVORITE scene from "Hot Fuzz" in this video.
"Night Of The Living Dead" is in public domain, so technically Edgar and Simon didn't steal the line from Romero's film.
I’m 35. Every one of my friends has seen all 3 of those movies but we still quote Shaun of the Dead to this day.
simon pegg and nick frost bring me so much joy. hot fuzz is my second favorite movie ever but shaun is not far behind. i don't think i've ever missed an opportunity to say "you've got red on you" to any vaguely red stain on a shirt.
I love to see them do a video on "Tucker and Dale vs Evil". It's my favorite horror movie and it's great.
I'm British but have been living in the Netherlands since I was 6 years old and I have had the privilege to introduce so many people to the cornetto trilogy! Here there are many many people whi have not been blessed by seeing these movies.
I will always say my favourite moment In Shaun of the dead is when Simon and nick are coming back from the Winchester pub pissed and a zombie is down the road and you hear the boys going "dibadibadiba da" you hear the loud moan from the zombie always puts me on my ass laughing
Not US exactly, but living in Canada, I don't think I know a single person my age who hasn't seen and loves Shaun of the Dead.
I am from Hawaii and this is my favorite zombie movie. I watched this so much when I was younger 🤣
Howl's moving castle is one of my favorite movies but Shawn of the dead is great.
As an American, we know, love, and appreciate Hot Fuzz. It is played fairly regularly on cable. Thank you.
"Who in the hell put this on?!"
"It's on random!"
I'm 33 and from the US and me and all my friends love Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, and World End Pub.
I just watched a video about the worlds end, I check my subscription feed and I find this. Good
I live in Michigan, And everyone I know loves both Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead, I've never met someone who hasn't seen Shaun of the Dead. My favorite line in any movie to this day is from Hot Fuzz, "everyone and there mums got guns, round here, like who? Farmers. Who else? Farmers Mums. lmfao. I still laugh out loud every time I think about it.
i wonder if it is just a Michigan thing, everyone i know can quote several scenes word for word but almost everyone outside of Michigan and Europe i know have not watched the movies
TONS of people loved Shaun of the dead here. Hot fuzz is a certified hood classic.
I'd just like to mention, I never thought Paul was an Edgar Wright film. I knew it had nothing to do with the Cornetto trilogy. Also, that movie is one of my favorites 😅 although i have like 75 favorites 😂
Literally barbara is so stereotypically a british mum, or nan. Like she is essentially the same as my nan.
I have made this comment before when seeing Karl's room but I would love to see a video of you guys explaining what/showing off the stuff in the background! I have soooo many questions! ❤❤
From an America's viewpoint, I think if someone isn't familiar with Shaun of the Dead, they're at least familiar with Hot Fuzz -- or it's the other way around.
If those films weren't enough to get Simon Pegg over in the US, now he's just in the Mission Impossible films, and even the influence for Hughie in The Boys comic (and Hughie's Dad in the TV show).
Side Note: I liked Paul. Especially Sigourney Weaver's appearance as the villain. xD
I wanted to see this in theatres really bad but the closest location was an hour drive. Had to buy it on DVD the day it came out.
I'm in the USA, and if anyone in any of my social circles said they hadn't seen Shawn of the dead, that would be changed very quickly. Basically everyone has seen it.
Oh man, I can't think of a single person I know who hasn't seen either of them. All their team up movies are super funny and worth watching. Shaun of the dead was known by EVERYONE LOL.
Hot Fuzz might be more British but it's also 5:00 perfect
I have watched many breakdowns of shaun of the dead and never heard about the time splitters call back before
Hot Fuzz was a repeat summer with the roomate back in the day.
I'm 39 in the US. I feel like all the folks I know around my age are familiar with Shaun of the Dead best of the Cornetto Trilogy. Of my closest friends, I am sure they know Hot Fuzz, but even less so The World's End. Of the films, though, World's End is my favorite, then Shaun, and in last place I'd say Hot Fuzz. We also were fans of Spaced. I feel like my generation had a UK entertainment phase in the 2000s. I'd imagine because of the success of the Office.
Nope, I'm too scurred for this one...
[Runs away]
lucky for you, these are classic shuffler zombies, you could briskly out-walk them, no need to run
I'm an American and I've seen all three films of the Cornetto Trilogy.
I'm pretty sure I watch Shaun of the Dead at least a hundred times in my time movie is legendary
In Canada they are huge, but UK content is huge in Canada. Growing up in the 80's and 90's there was a lot of UK content as placefiller on Canadian broadcasters, due to CanCon loopeholes and an emergent but under served canadian television landscape at that point, as the golden era of CanCon dipped to the Beach Combers and Wayne and Schuster at some point, lol. So I watched a lot of BBC stuff as a kid in the 80's and 90's.
Shaun of the dead for sure
This is my favorite British film. Hot fuzz was also great
criminally underrated over here, America wasted itself of fart jokes and pratfalls
Hands down my favorite movie, and I don't know if it's too big in America but my friend group all loved it
It's very popular in America.
My brother cannot resist any opportunity to quote "There's a girl in the garden".
Neither of us has a garden and there is rarely a garden when he says it.
That to me is when a movie goes past cult. Misapply a quote and everybody still gets it.
My sister had this movie around when I was 10 or so, if I remember right. I had a friend who loved all three of the Cornetto trilogy and showed me the world's end
Such a great film! And pretty much everyone I know knows Shaun and Hot Fuzz!
If you are taking requests, do “dog soldiers.”
Timesplitters is legendary
From Canada here, shawn of the dead is more popular out here than the rest of the cornetto trilogy. And MOST people i know/have talked to have seen it, and with the rare occasions that they havent i force them to.
I'm american and Pegg is a legend over here to this day
I'm American and I've seen Hot Fuzz a ton of times. Never saw Shawn of the Dead.
I can't really watch zombie comes films fully because one time I had a horrible nightmare, on of those where you feel like you've been in there for days, in the zombie apocalypse. I don't know why or how my brain did it but every time I start thinking of zombies I just start feeling paranoid, like the nightmare could restart any minute now and it felt so normal before he zombies started showing up that I would believe it if zombies showed up now. Has anyone else had this kind of thing?
As a 39 year old guy from the Usa I think everyone I know, at least in my general age range, knows or have watched Shawn of the Dead. Hot fuzz is less watched, and The worlds end is kinda barely talked about. Hot Fuzz is my favorite, eventhough I hated it when I first saw it
I love all of those that were released the same year... Although I will say this, I have never seen the Notebook or The Ghibli film but I have only EVER heard positive reviews but I'm from the US my Dad is who introduced our family to Edgar Wright with Shaun of the Dead because he wanted to watch a more family friendly horror film cause my mom but she loved Shaun of the Dead so much she didn't care if it was a bit gory IT IS STILL SO DAMN GOOD
I wasn't sure this was where we were going with a perfect zombie movie, but I should've known, there's only one it could be
Have thos on in the back ground while re bagging and boarding comics. Gotta ask, do any of your crew have any ongoing comic subscriptions?
Most people here have heard of it not as many have seen it but it's pretty well received in the Midwest atleast.
Two members of Coldplay are zombies? That explains a lot.
As a kid the dreamcast zombie game gave me nightmares but when we got this dvd i would watch it nonstop... US btw
I grew up on Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz but never heard of World's End in US
Brad and faraway Karl.
I'm 38 and definitely played the hell out of re4 and watched this movie on repeat. Really amazing combo this movie was my favorite movie qhen it came out and has remained high on my list. One really important part was "thanks babe" it helped me to see non toxic male relationships were OK. Seems stupid but my friends and I started calling each other babe because of that scene.
Today I would be hard pressed to choose between Shaun of the dead and Howl's moving castle. But in the year they came out no contest, went and saw Shaun of the dead twice in theaters, and it was one of the few dvds i owned.
You _can_ eat a spoonful of cinnamon, but it takes like ten minutes.
How do I know? I love cinnamon so much I used to just eat it as a kid.
Im americann and Shaun of the dead. And hott fuzz are number one and two on my top ten movies of alll time. The way the second half callls back to the first with references is absoolutelly incredible idk if theres a film makking term for it.
Love Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead, still haven't seen World's End tho
world's end wasn't great until the second or third watch. Then it all makes sense and hits.
Howls moving castle is a beautiful movie and Ghibli are top notch. But Shaun of the dead is at least as good in every way. It’s just different. But both movies can be viewed on repeat
I can’t speak for the Americans but in Canada the Cornetto trilogy is fairly well know. Shaun of the dead is the best known of them. For the record Karl you seem to be well versed in geopolitics lol but mate did you forget about Canada?? We have the biggest British population that still identifies as British outside of Britain. This coming from a Scottish Canadian
Holy crap i just realized i filch was the nonsesical gun nut im hot fuzz
Pretty much everyone I know that Im close to has seen the Cornetto trilogy. Either because they did or I introduced them to it lol. Most of them saw it themselves tho
Shaun of the dead then mean girls
I loved the movie, love hot fuzz and i like Simon Pegg
its rarer, only a handful of my friends have seen shaun of the dead def more culty but likely thats a result of where i live
I saw Shauna the dead before I ever saw Hot Fuzz. And as a dumb American I totally thought Paul was an Edgar Wright movie. I'm going to have to go back and watch World's End to see if it hits different now that I'm an adult. I really appreciate your guys's content something I look forward to regularly
I think Shuan of the dead is a cult movie here in the US. I loved it, but it's not widely talked about.
i, uh... i haven't seen shaun of the dead. been meaning to watch it forever but never get around to it, i have seen worlds end and hot fuzz though
I am no joke jealous that you get to see it for the first time, enjoy!
If you guys are impressed by film directors with an eye for detail, Stanley Kubrick's going to blow your minds!
hot fuzz is fucking hilarious. comedy central used to play random english comedy movies all the time. (American)
I’m sorry but it’s seen more as like a slightly better “scary movie” variation
what about that one with the zombie called 'r'?
🧟♀️🧟🧟♂️
I love the movie, but it definitely feels like a cult movie here in the states. Hot Fuzz even more so unfortunately, even though it's my favorite
What's wrong with Howels?
It's not as good as Shaun of the Dead but it's good
As a 36 year old American, I can confidently state that if you're in my age group you thought Shaun of the dead was a slice of fried gold
As much as I love Shaun of the Dead I feel like MeanGirls has influenced my style of humor and jokes much more. But 'You've got red on you.' Is my favourite movie quote of all time.
I watched it once, years ago. Did not enjoy it. I honestly don't remember why, it's been that long, other than I didn't find it funny. In the film's defense, I was unaware it's part of a trilogy and I've not seen the other two. I was also less used to brittish humor than I am now. Perhaps I'll give it another watch in the future.
