Hey. 08 Prius 159 foot pound torque spec. After replacing Hub Car car was making click pop noise while stopping. I was told to add more torque so I added 10 ft lb of torque every test drive until the sound stop. Was that a good or bad solution?

I wouldn't go over factory specs. However they allow a 2-3 ft lbs either direction, to much torque will prematurely wear the hub bearing. I would get the suspension checked out. Sound like ball joint issue.

You could've bought a bad hub bearing assembly! I had that happen to me before and the popping noise couldn't really be heard until I started slowing down! Swapped it out under warranty and viola, problem solved!

do you think its better to torque in the air or on the ground?

Ground is better, but most car rims cover the axle nut. Either way will work
