I had a ruptured ectopic pregnancy and can I say the pain was the worst I have ever endured. But contrary to what I was told I went in to have another two children after that and three of my four children had to have exchange transfusions because of the Rh factor. So very very lucky. Thank you for explaining.
Thank you for the excellent and intriguing video. This should be shown to certain uninformed members of the US legislature at all levels of government. Lack of correct information (and a lot of other things) are leading to great danger for women who have an ectopic pregnancy. In my opinion, this video should be one of several that are required preparation for all politicians as well as medics. Dr Webster, would you consider creating a video about the anatomy of a hysterectomy in various situations? That would be extremely helpful. Thank you so much.
The birth control that I use (nexplanon but I believe this occurs with other types of birth control) lists ectopic pregnancies as a risk. I believe that the mechanism of hormonal birth control is thickening cervical mucus. You mentioned that obstructions in the uterine tube often are what contributes to ectopic pregnancies-- maybe somehow the hormonal birth control is creating some sort of additional obstruction in that area. Thanks for posting this video, I've often wondered with such a painful and life-threatening issue how I could detect it before the situation became truly dangerous. Now I know I can take a pregnancy test to rule this out if I'm experiencing serious abdominal/pelvic pain.
I currently have an abdominal ectopic pregnancy.!!! No its not painful. Only when they move harsh. Ive seen many doctors obgyns non want to get involved with my case!
Read a case of a hepatic ectopic pregnancy sometime ago and both the mother and child didn’t survive :( education of how dangerous it can be and making sure it’s completely removed is so important
... if for an example during an ectopic pregnancy , say your left tube is removed ...then can your right tube pick the ovum released from left ovary ? I read in some research papers that it does .. Can you shed some light on this please
in the diagnosis process is it not true that the patient can present with debilitating referred pain in the upper thorax during an ectopic pregnancy, giving another helpful pointer to the diagnosis?
I thought pregnancy is considered as beginning when the blastocyst implants in the endometrium. Therefore, is an ectopic pregnancy, strictly speaking, even a pregnancy? In the U.S., I think this is an important point, given the laws in some states against termination for any reason.
