Perfect Dark PC Port - Combat - Grid (Online Multiplayer)

- Another netplay match from yesterday, this time against Alkamaass with 140 ping. This was our first match so we stopped to check a few things but everything seems to work normal. There's definitely host advantage in this port for now, but it is 100% playable and enjoyable.
Match settings:
Combat
6 minute limit
Pistols weaponset
Radar enabled
To play Perfect Dark PC Port online:
1 - Download the latest build here: nightly.link/f...
2- Follow the instructions from GitHub to get your 1.1 .z64 NTSC ROM working
3- If you wish to host, you must do port forwarding for 27100 UDP, then get your public IP to share with others
4- Load your player from Combat Simulator to keep your settings / name / controls
5a- To join games go to 'Network Game' - 'Join Game' and paste the Host's IP
5b - To host games go to 'Network Game' - 'Host Game' and share your IP with others, keep it private if possible
6- Wait for your friends to join and play
Things to keep in mind:
Simulants are NOT supported
Clients cannot cloak or throw laptop guns
Rockets are generally broken
Only combat is currently supported, with teams sometimes not syncing properly
And more but the basics are there and it's fun to play

@@codezero7981 PD XBLA online can stay dead, really unplayable unless you were close to the host.

Vivid memories of when I was 10 playing against simulants on this map while staying home sick from school. Cool to see this level available on PC finally.

This was one my favorite maps because of Matrix lobby look. You could dress up all the sims as Agents and have the Combat Boosts for the slow motion
I've always thought that since I first bought this game back for my N64. I was like man this grid level looks just like the lobby shooting spree level in The matrix.
This music is absolutely bonkers, that guitar riff is awesome
This port is the coolest project I have seen. I'm excited about goldeneye and other RARE games being ported to PC as well.
Aside from Goldeneye I'd love to see Jet Force Gemini.

@@ikagura Ive been playing the PC Port this week and said the same thing. Jet Force is one of my favorites and to play it with good controls on keyboard and mouse would be phenomenal
@@MyStolenAimbot I'd be tempted to try it on 1964 with the mouse injector someday. I have done Sin & Punishment with that already before.

I bet that once the rom hack is finished, it could be ported directly into PD PC version. Imagine: you can play either GE or PD using either game's cheats or characters!
@@Lebon19 Yeah the ultimate dream for me is like, everything in PD, in one executable. GE stuff, PD's stuff-- nothing removed, plus the ability for new native stuff without sacrificing anything to make it happen (i.e. map slots for new map mods). I hope that dream comes to fruition some day!

It's new. Benefits of the PC community port. Kind of like classic emulated fighting games on final burn fightcade. The game thinks your local 2-4 players etc, but doesn't realize the players wre just syncing with each other via different ip addreses

Imagine an Xbox Original port with online multiplayer. That would be incredible for us guys on CRTs with sound systems. I bet the OG Xbox would smash it too

Is it possible that in the future they could make it similar to what Slippi does? I'm sure they will be able to improve the graphics with ray tracing technology and character models, have personal maps and original weapons to the point where the Xbox version would look terrible in comparison. I hope that in the future it will be easy to get into, just launch, see the options, hit play, and simply play. Good luck with your project, I'm excited to see something incredible that big companies don't do.

so i can't join my brother and he can't join me (we have the net branch build of course).
the ip adresse to write on the join's screen is the ipv4 adresse ? like 192.x.x.x:27100 ?

It means you have to open the port on your router. You'll have to look up how to do it with your internet provider and router model, can't really help much there myself. Once you learn how to port forward, just add 27100 UDP to your local IP and your brother should be able to join you.

@@JustinJTime Unless it was just a single player story-driven title doing its own thing, I was never much interested in the reboot anyway. Since it's obvious that they wouldn't understand what made the original's Combat Simulator so great-- your traditional AAA company couldn't even make a game like PD64 nowadays. Where devs could test basically whatever they wanted and add it if at all feasible, all very laid back. Those sorts of passion projects are few and far between.

Since this is pc, I'm assuming it is keyboard and mouse instead of controller
This is with mouse and keyboard but you can use any controller you want including N64.

Do the unarmed / Slappys still do that annoying AF disorienting effect like the n-bombs did? God I hated that. If you can, program that shit out of the game. Lol.
yeah that was fucking annoying
@@georgefasey my god was it ever! I never played against a kamikaze or fist sim in combat simulator bc of it. They'd have you all disoriented and couldn't see anything for a minute. It even persisted thru death! So annoying
@@Nukemann64 Yes, but it won't carry over after death like it did back in the day due to a bug. You can also disable framebuffer effects and it'll be disabled as a side effect.
I think this was the intention, knocking you out as if you got a punch irl.
