Its still amazing they turned a 4-KOMA into a whole ass anime LMAO
There are plenty of 4-koma that have been adapted to anime. Off the top of my head, there’s Azumanga Daioh, Seitokai Yakuindomo, K-on!, and Lucky Star. The key to adapting 4-koma is to use the tools of adaptation to fill in the blanks between panels. Do you add in stuff to break up the constant flow of gags? Do you go more in-depth with some of the gags? It’s here where artists, writers, and directors can really pour in their creative juices to create something that really elevates the source material.

Everything in bocchi is a reference to other animes and video games too.For example they reference Undertale a lot through the episodes ah and Omori too if I'm not mistaken.The author is a manga and videogame nerd and I love that🤣🥰.We have Black Butler references,Jojo,Dragon Ball,Evangelion,Ashita no Joe ,Spongebob(the sound from Spongebob when Nijika says I miss my sister),Undertale,Omori,Naruto(in the manga they have yet to adapt that) ecc.There are probably a lot more I missed in the anime but there are also references to films and anime films.
