@@NiceDudeMovieNightI feel like you must watch Trading Places now that you’ve seen this movie, then 48 hours and then Beverly Hills Cop 1 and 2. Eddie ruled the 80s on TV and then film. His TV special, Delirious, and his stand up movie, Raw, are both brutal and brilliant, honestly his stand up was the best, to me, even over Richard Pryor, until Chris Rock mastered his craft.
The worst thing about getting older and watching film reactions by much younger people is realizing how many actors from "back in the day" that you just assume everybody knows... whole generations don't know. Props to Eriq La Salle, Vondie Curtis-Hall, Don Ameche, and Louie Anderson.
most of the obvious stuff has already been mentioned in the comments; however, the one thing most people forget ... that's *Louie Anderson* @14:08 & @14:54 he was pretty famous in the late 80's & early 90's - but he was mainly know as a standup comic. he hosted a few big name game shows and did smaller roles in many TV shows, movies, & cartoons - ended up winning 3 *Emmy Awards* during that time. his last role, before he passed away, was the sequel to *Coming To America* that came out a couple of years ago.
Got to say it’s great to see you guys back. Not only that it’s good to see a film that I have not seen in ages. For more EM films I would recommend The Golden Child.
Mortimer and Randolph "They need their own movie." Hi-LARIOUS! I'm sure the comments section will light up at this one lol. Also the overweight guy serving milkshakes at McDowell's is Louie Anderson famous 80's comedian! Great to have you guys back with an absolute banger of a movie. Check out "The Golden Child" too for another Eddie Murphy 80's banger.
I have to notice that the scene where Samuel L Jackson attempts the shotgun robbery is very reminiscent of the restaurant robbery scene in Pulp Fiction. Even dialogue is similar. Those who watched Pulp Fiction will know what I'm saying, I don't want to write any spoilers. It looks like Tarantino made a reference to this scene in Pulp Fiction.
This was such a fun reaction to this movie! 😊 I’ve seen it a million times over the years, including as a kid in theaters back in 1988, so it’s really nice to see newbies enjoying it for the first time more than 35 yrs later! 😊 You’ll now have to go and watch Trading Places to understand the homeless guys reference, which was a hilarious joke at the time because everyone in ‘88 saw it and knew immediately what the reference was!🤣🤣🤣

The great thing about these two buddies is that there is still SO much more for them to watch from Trading Places to more Naked Gun to some Bud Spencer (like Watch Out, We're Mad) to Bean's Holiday and so many other movies that would fit their humor and friendship.
I don't think anyone else mentioned it but other than James Earl Jones playing Mufasa, Madge Sinclair who plays Queen Aoleon also plays SImba's mother Sarabi
