In this fantastic movie, depending on the tone, I hear Mufasa and Darth Vader a lot hahaha. Our boy James Earl Jones.

I remember my parents took me and my sister to see this movie when it first premiered. The line wrapped around the theater. But the Dukes scene, the audience completely lost it. I mean for minutes the crowd was taken aback with the Trading Places cameo. Great times.

I’m sure someone commented this already, but the old homeless guys, Randalph and Mortimer were in another 80s movie with Eddie Murphy, called “Trading Places”. Also hilarious, and I recommend it. I genuinely loved seeing your reactions to such a good movie, I always enjoy your commentaries. 💖

The Mortimer and Randolph bit is a throwback from a movie Eddie did with Dan Aykroyd. Called Trading Places, from 1983.

I love this movie, grew up with this and Trading Places. Which you also need to watch as it is referenced in this movie. You'll understand when you watch it. The other big 80's Eddie Murphy movie is Beverly Hills Cop.

Randolf and Mortimer (Duke brothers), were basically the antagonists in the film Trading Places, a Eddie Murphy film as well. You have to watch that movie, not just because it brilliant and one of the best Eddie comedies, but also to learn how they got to their predicament, living on the streets.

8:25 I sometimes forget that younger people didn't grow up seeing Eddie Murphy on Saturday Night Live every week, playing a lot of different characters (including James Brown), so that is why it's easier for you to miss when when he and Arsenio are made up like other characters. But the end credits will tell you, and I'm guessing now it's going to be a surprise.

Edit: hope you are gonna get it, but all the make upped actors in the barber shop is Eddie - or other actors from the movie - they definitely got the most out of their buck 😂

James Earl Jones coming in with the boss music. You could almost exchange it with Imperial March and get the same effect.

according to the fandom wiki: "Randolph and Mortimer Duke are the two main antagonists of the 1983 film Trading Places [also by Landis], and minor characters in the 1988 film Coming to America. They are the greedy, heartless owners of "Duke & Duke", a successful commodities brokerage in Philadelphia"

Randolph and Mortimer were in Trading Places, another movie staring Eddie Murphy as well as Dan Aykroyd in the leading roles. That scene was a tie-in to the film.
