    I'm glad you liked the items. I figured they matched your Dodges and time frames. I'm not positive, but that thermometer could go back to the 30's or '40's as the phone number was still just 3 numbers in small towns and rural areas of the US. It's amazing that it still keeps fairly accurate temperature readings! Keep an eye out for the youthful assistant who seems to enjoy filling Fred and Ned the sheds with trinkets.

    Hi Rick. One of my recently departed Daimler DS420's was fitted with an ice alert, rectangular version. It still seemed to work, although it was rarely out in the cold. This was a UK car, therefore this must be an accessory available in the UK in the 70's.

      It was, and was fitted on quite a few Jaguars............

    An update on the Rover brochure. My research shows oniy 1500 were imported to the US and the Ice alert, electric windows and a few other items were exclusive to the US model. Apparently low performance and as one response here indicates, reliability issues loomed large in the P6 demise. Those wheels look very much Rostyle or Magnum 500's on some US cars of the period.

    Hi 👋 Richard. Good old items . Museum pieces they are. My father drove a Rover 2000 in the 1970s. It was in a red colour. It was beautiful and very nice to sit in with its bucket seats. He,said to me it was a petrol guzzler. ⛽️. I think it was a V8 engine. Interesting that the Rover was on the American car market. It's very nice where you live. From Carl.

      @oldclassiccarUK Yes the Rovers were nice. I remember the wedge shaped models coming out in the late 1970s. A complete change in design.

    Some people would just see that as junk but of course 'we' all know better. I have not seen those wheels (or hub caps) on a P6 here in the UK either and the ice detector must have been for the USA market only I would think. The oil can is a very nice example and looks as new. I assume that the ruler would be for measuring your fish once you have caught it as it has fishing laws on it? I am not really a fisherman but I have 'dabbled' in the past. A collection of interesting items that have found a good home. Thanks Rick for sharing this video. 👍👍

      I did wonder about cleaning up the radiator, but decided to leave it au naturel (apart from the badge which I did clean a little)

    My Uncle Bob and Aunt Ruth of Wellesley, MA had a Rover 2000 they had bought new. He said it was a wonderful car to drive, but a terrible car to own. Nothing big, but apparently lots of little things would need to be attended to. My uncle is gone now, but Aunt Ruth is 106 years old.

    Those wheels on the P6 on the brochure cover look like Kelsey Hayes Magstars. Popular fit on 1967 Shelby GT Mustangs. BTW, your camera doesn't do macro!

    Great collection and I bet they are the only ones in the UK which would make them unique.

    I toured Wales in 1975 in a 1968 Rover P6 2000, very nice car it was as well.
    In the Aldershot area is a garage owner with his late father in laws White Rover P6 3500s I'm sure the badge states S ??? It's covered less than 10k as his father in law died and they've just kept it.
    Must be worth a small fortune as it's as new.

    • @oldclassiccarUK
      @oldclassiccarUK  28 дней назад +1

      Sounds nice, the S usually signifies manual gearbox on the P6 3500 doesn't it?

    • @richardsealey3626
      @richardsealey3626 27 дней назад +1

      @@oldclassiccarUK Yes, "S" stands for "Synchromesh" and not "Sport", as a lot of people think...............
