Only 3,500 subscribers?? I went back in your videos and you have been making videos for a few years. You deserve alot more subscribers, you have a great setup!! I'm thinking about making a suburban overland setup and I'm glad you are keeping things so practical! Great job!!
Thanks! It's been slow going on the youtube growth. Most people are more interested in the jeeps and Toyotas I guess.
@trove1312 🤣 I don't disagree because it seems like that it the theme but your videos definitely deserve more recognition
Ive got 4 suburbans I’ve been thinking about doing this with. 3 squarebodies and one 02
Hey awesome channel. I love the suburban life. Question. When you buy the H2 springs in which way did you put the spring. Tighter up top or on the bottom
Thanks! I don't remember which way I installed them, or which way is technically correct.
Very nice setup and a very nice family. Just found your channel and subscribed. God bless you
Awesome! Thank you!
Finally seen ya'll going down the road in person. We loved the set up. Looks great going down the road for sure.
Thanks 👍
Are you still running stock G80 rear differential
Yes
I must’ve missed the water pump and spigot install. Did you do a vid on that?
Yes I did a video on the water system installation
Absolutely amazing I have just found your channel; I have just subscribed ! Looks like yall are having fun and family adventures. Best wishes to you and your family sir. Looking forward to sharing your journeys in 2024
Welcome aboard!
@@trove1312 Thanks 🙏
Have you ever pulled your entire camper setup onto a truck scale? Just curious how much weight that 5.3 liter is hauling, don’t forget to throw in a few kids…. :-) Making memories, for sure!!! Awesome channel, subscribed!
Not yet but I do need to
@@trove1312Hey buddy my first time seeing your videos! I realy preciate your character and decency! I know you know it but you are truly a very Blessed man with a beautiful family and 1 more soon and I know you know this to do what you have done and doing to carry your family with you says a whole lot and is priceless! That one fellow talking bout weighing. Buddy you for sure need to weigh your whole rig!!! If your not close to a truckstop you can go to the landfill in your county. They have scales for when you carry trash there. Fill gas tank, water tank and anything else you carry camping with yall. Fill fridge and cabinets with food and supplies and everything just like talll were going camping. OH yeah take all your precious family to. But don't just fill up the trailer make sure you fill up the Sub that pulls to with everything to so you get a accurate weight. The trailer shouldn't be heavy at all cause of no motor or transmission or transfer case and drive lines and front end etc so I would say it realy os real light and that's great. When yall are traveling does any of your children ride in trailer or do you have room for all your children and wife in driver sub? Cause that's where your weight is and get a separate weight ticket for each one individually. Great video and great ideas! Tall take and becareful! Happy Trails my friend!
I still havent gotten my kitchen built in my Armada. I'm about to the point of bringing it to you to do 😂😂 seriously, though, I atill absolutely love the setup. I kinda regret going the vintage teardrop route. I had a chance to buy another Armada to build like yours, but for $900 i couldn't pass up the 1950 Benroy. If I finish the galley kitchen out (doing it all in vintage Coleman gear to math the 50s theme) and build out the Armada kitchen, I should be setup perfect. Also been looking at the water system you have. I just have to take the leap and buy it
The nice thing about that teardrop is it's probably a fraction of the weight!
Brilliant setup!
Thanks!
Just discovered your channel and I'm ashamed to say how many videos I've binge watched tonight 🫣. Absolutely love what you guys are doing with your little ones in tow. I've gotten so many ideas for our awesome tribe. Keep up the adventures ❤
Glad you like them!
I'd just buy a moterhome
8 is enough I bet u love tax time 😊
Have you weighed it? I am curious about the tongue weight of the trailer. Thanks
We have not yet
Very creative and bad ass! Keep at it
I have the same suburban this is cool looking forward to doing this with my family
Enjoy! They are great rigs!
Always enjoy seeing how people have their campers set up. Gives me ideas on how to set things up.
Same here! That's one of the main reasons I started the channel!
I'm glad I found your channel... I'm fixing to convert my 92 GMC van, the motor blew in it ,into a trailer camper... I've got a lot of questions I would like to ask you in the future... Great video.
Sounds like a big project!
Yes
My friend and I are getting ready to do this to a mercury mountaineer
Sounds like a fun project!
How’d you mount the iPad?
We're using magnetic mounts.
Now I'm going to have to do a walk around video....LOL
No! You'll make me want things I can't afford!
@@trove1312 LOL.
Any particular reason why your not using a 2500 platform? I mean clearly you get it done with the 1500 but was curious if there’s a benefit from running the bigger running gear and trans/motor. I’m curious what mpg you get with this vs a 2500 similarly set up
That's a good question. The main reason is this is what we had long before we even started the camper. We've had the z71 for 9+ years and so we just drive what we have. We do have a 2500 suburban now but it is a little nicer so we have avoided committing it to the rough roads we take the z71 on. the 2500 definitely pulls the camper better but along with that comes worse fuel economy and a heavier tow vehicle. The 1500 performs better offroad than the heavier 2500 in our experience. The fuel economy is not great for either but I have found that the 2500 uses quite a bit more fuel than the 1500.
