Master Yi was literally my favorite champ for years, then JG changed, I still miss bloodrazor, and Rageblade changed, and wit's changed, yi has been getting indirect nerfs for YEARS, W changes, E nerfs, the best we've gotten is QoL on his Q. I don't even bother playing him at this point because I have to play situations so well and JG is just not enjoyable anymore.

Wait a couple of weeks and there will be 7 new builds and playstyle that puts 20 Yi players in the top 500.

i've been trying yi top lane lately, feels more playable than jungle NGL, i got to master on yi last season when yi was 46% wr and now i'm struggling in emerald games. I feel so weak with little to no impact right now. I've been trying grasp top and more healthy/tanky split pushing builds and feels decent. I'm currently wondering if i should experiment with other runes in the jungle, i don't think HOB will work because invading enemy jungle is just not viable right now, especailly with E nerfs and unless we take ignite smite like we did several seasons ago then it's just really hard to play that style consistently. might have to try out some tanky yi builds again.

After some experimenting, I found a new build for the new items that I’m really liking.
Runes - Hail of Blades
Items: Phantom Dancer > Berserkers Greaves > Yun Tal Arrows.
Imo on-hit dps is now dead. If you like playing Yi, try this build out.
I remember when mid and late game Yi could just right click any bruiser or tank and win the duel. Deserved, as it took him a while to get to that stage. Now bruisers and tanks can beat you late game even if you play it right, which is stupid because that means they are stronger for the entire game, so what's the point in playing a scaling champ?
i'm a yi otp, i deal 0 dammage i'm so fucking mad it's the only champion i love, and it's nerfed so hard it's unplayable now. i want to ragequit this fkcing game

There are heavy AS and crit scaling coming like it was before in league. I'am playing since S1 when master yi q had a 100% reset on kill while in ult and 100% ap scaling on q as well. It was broken as hell. Riot patched it out and master yi was played as a ad hypercarry afterwards built on crit AS. The last years on hit was strong and now we are going half circle back to crit. It'l feel slugish in the start but even faster in the late and more snappy in the end. And the movementspeed buff with zephyr and phantomdancers. Hell yeah I'am hyped honestly.

as for me, i think ima go with conq with standart build or just oneshot electrocute lethality.
not even sure if the new adc boots will come in handy at lvl 15. but yeah....
some champs got absolutely gutted by removing lethal tempo.
What about first strike, focus on doing as much dmg as possible in the shortest period of time, with the cash out as well to snowball.

One thing people didn't see about PTA is that once you proc it on one person you deal more damage to all enemy champs untill you leave combat. Losing tempo is ofc bad for yi

The true damage nerf is really noticeable now. This sucks!
Yi is currently undergoing the worst nightmare when he got his skill nerfs, the removed of lethal tempo means hes hardly reach 2.5 AS with solely items, and with the squishyness he wont be able to do much in game rn compares to assassin champions 😢😢
Playing Yi since 2010, I am very excited for this.
People should look on the bright side. This means that Yi can now be balanced around HOB, which is a funner playstyle IMO due to build versatility. He'll be in a garbage state for one or two patches, but will eventually be gigabuffed until he's balanced. My issue with LT was always the fact that you're stuck building the same Rageblade on-hit build every game, but now he'll be played more like an assassin with crit and/or lethality.
Its so fun especially when you get perma invaded and cant fight back lol.HOB is shit on Yi.Paired with E nerf and you have a 47% WR in emerald+.
@@SavvasTheLegend LT isn't even better than HOB against invades unless there are 2+ enemies, and even then, if they kill you within 2 seconds you're better off with HOB's burst to at least attempt a 1-for-1. HOB has only been subpar for Yi because he's never been balanced for it, and the one time it was decent due to old Duskblade, Riot hard nerfed tf out of that playstyle.
13:26 is it worth to take the ap book instead of keeping the golds to have pickaxe faster ?
Imo they should make his E like old days. I mean make 18 instead of 20 on first lvl. Every lvl up should give u +5 true dmg but they should increase ad ratio to 35% and bring back old passive which gives 10% bonus ad. As riot said they want nerf his early but keep his strenght in late game. So i still don't know why they removed 10 base true dmg on all lvl instead keep it on last rank. I would like to see riot makes yi's late game champ again so they should bring back old E. That would make Yi harder to play and snowballing would be also harder. But still Yi would be high risk high reward champ because of late game scaling. And of course i miss green lightsaber on choosen Yi skin xd. Share your opinion please.

Oh hell nah.. if LT is indeed gone, they better revert those highlander nerfs to his AS, since they nerfed it because of LT, and basically most of his nerfs, for him to be even viable again.

Never fun to see your champ gutted this hard man. Feel for you guys. He'll be back in some way. I do not like the way Yi becomes almost unstoppable with a few kills but removing LT wasn't necessary.
What is best jungled to play as a new player?
Try something simple and strong like Warwick, Xin, Evelynn etc.

On hit Yi is completely unplayable for me at the moment. Glass cannon that takes a while to kill someone (easy to counterplay or respond to). No survivability even if you go titanic and steraks.
yup, other champs have a multitude of tools at their disposal like range + mobility + damage, or tank + damage + cc or burst + survivability + mobility etc etc and what do we have on yi? just damage that we can't use because we are melee champs with no cc or tankiness and currently aren't even that fast in comparison to many other champs and we also take time to ramp up with lethal tempo which makes no difference because you cannot survive that long, and your E and R don't last that long either so any amount of cc, or survivability or even just running away faster and we simply can never kill that person. so basically it's just much more reliable on teams now and in low elo that's just impossible.

A week ago, I accidentally played Master Yi with Precision, and Sorcery Warwick runes. I thought I would do terribly, but ended up getting a S, so maybe try them? When I can I'll list the exact runes.
