I like the honest reviews. If a collector is going to pay actual hundreds of dollars on one figure, I wouldn’t want to just hear that it’s great when there are issues, no matter how major or minor. I haven’t seen other reviews yet, but I expect they’re saying this is incredible because of the size, like you said.

Honestly the neck articulation, and lack of paint kill this for me. I personally prefer when a figure doesn't have *too* many painted parts. It might not have a sort of high quality finish because of the paint, but that means you can fiddle around with it without worrying about chipping the paint. Kinda like with Takara's Masterpiece line. Too many painted parts + high quality gloss finish = new paint chip every time you breathe on it

Fantastic review; I like the fact that you state you're very happy to own it yet, like always, point out what's wrong with it. I'm in the camp of "action figures should be able to pose dynamically" so though probably few ppl would prefer this, I'd rather have Bandai go with an even more out of scale (smaller) Ape Vegeta that poses as well as let's say Broly without huge gaps and weight issues. Even then it's still a pretty impressive piece. I'm curious since you're a pro at customizing if you'd ever think about painting the details on this figure and improving its look ? I dunno if you'd ever risk a figure this expensive, but then again you have expertise and I don't think you'd want to sell it anyway.
I don't look at it as a risk really. I just don't customize pieces in my collection unless I have 2... And I'm not buying a second unless the bottom falls out of the second hand market for him.
The price is as expensive as the size of this one. There're something that makes me doesn't want to get him and I couldn't figure out what, now I know! It's too clean with the lack of paint. I agree with the articulation not being great. I would like more movement range in the head and abdomen, especially to move the head back more for a more dominant roaring look. I would have also liked a wash on at least the armor, gloves and boots, to make the scrapes, cuts, and panel lines more pronounced from a distance. You can't really see any of them unless you're up close to the figure. Also the face piece with the gashed eye fits better than the one with both eyes, but neither of them fit very well in mine either. As far as a center piece for my DBZ shelf, nope. I was thinking when my Haslab Unicron comes in maybe put him under there, and make Vegeta look like Atlas holding up Unicron in planet mode. Great honest review.
Agreed. How are you gonna have literally NO paint on this guy with all that potential. Their smaller figures always have a lack of paint in my opinion as well, when back in the day they used to be loaded with paint (and accessories). I could be wrong with this opinion because I'm no figure genius, but I always sense a big hint of laziness because they know they can get away with it.
I know this "no paint" would come on the debate, but SHF has a repute of clean figures. The joints are just painful if things are falling off easy. The scale is fine, I think the kid goku scale is more debatable issue :)
Saw this at GameStop today...I’m shocked a figure with this price is even available there. It looks cool, but it’s gonna stay in the shelves for a good while lol
Anthony have you used airbrushing for customs if so air brushing could help shading wise can't say what'd help articulation but paint wise air brushing could put good shading on the figure
They advertised it as larger than that anyways. I get that they had to downsize it for whatever reason but I would have rather had it hold my actual Goku than a mini-Goku. Not a character I'm asking for anyways so not sure I really even care. Just give me a Majin Vegeta with actual paint like the promos.

Nice shading would have made him even better
I wish that sh figuarts released a pack with kid goku with a super sayian1 and super sayian3 as well for multiple head sculpts.
Saw this at GameStop today...I’m shocked a figure with this price is even available there. It looks cool, but it’s gonna stay in the shelves for a good while lol
why don't you review some articulated icons? would love to see what you think of them.
My copies right shoulder pad will not stay down all the way and I see your copy has the same issue.
I actually got this, yea got some issues but I still enjoy that it's still possible even if it's so big
I hope SH pushes the unamored Goku version soon with improvements. Thats one I really want.
1:49 lmaoo why did he keep that in 😳
moulded plastic colours are good though. they can't chip or bleed.
I'm assuming they're going to release another version of this Vegeta in the future with better paint for a bit extra
Idk. This thing didn't sell very well
@@AnthonysCustoms I didn't know... That's unfortunate but understandable.
To be fair you could maybe paint in those parts if you want
not gonna bite unless they make golden ape baby vegeta
That would require for them to start shifting to doing gt figures which I hope they get to
@@zojirushi1they made ssj4 goku and Vegeta so he could have rivals
4 years later and I’m still waiting for this
@@sirisaacthestraight i gave up hope lol
just got one and was waiting for the review hope its good
Lmao
Just won a bid on eBay for mine for 150. And yea i agree it does lack of paint for how much it is.
Where did you get that rotating device?
Anthony have you used airbrushing for customs if so air brushing could help shading wise can't say what'd help articulation but paint wise air brushing could put good shading on the figure
They advertised it as larger than that anyways. I get that they had to downsize it for whatever reason but I would have rather had it hold my actual Goku than a mini-Goku. Not a character I'm asking for anyways so not sure I really even care. Just give me a Majin Vegeta with actual paint like the promos.
I just got this and am struggling with the tail joint
Thanks, Anthony! I was on the fence until I watched your review. I should just wait for a price drop.
Doubt that's gonna happen with this guy man most sh figuarts either stay the same or double in price in short time.
@@infamous6283 i might take a chance with a possible Blufin. Worse case, I can live without it. Like he said, a Polunga would make a better display piece with a Shenron.
*Blufin sale
@@michaeldiaz8602 I'd love a porunga I think we'll see him in the future hopefully he'll be bigger than shenron he'd be awesome in a display
it has a price drop on amazon.
I hope they release a standard oozaru in the future, one without armor
I guess this is what saiyan's look like when they return monke
The toes need to have the same yellow as the shoulder pads

people before 2020 🙂
people after 2020 🧐🤨😖
Yeah I would've easily paid another 30 bucks for some paint on this guy I still like him and I think he fits well in the collection but he could've been alot better for the price point. PS does anyone who owns this figure have a problem with his left elbow pad falling off my figure had that problem outta the box and it's quite annoying.
I was Adele to pick this guy up a about a year ago for $80! So for me I can’t complain! Of course paint would’ve made it better! But I like it and it’s definitely in my display case!
I don't understand why they could'nt have just named it a part of sh monster arts since it's not actually to scale
1:51 made me choke on my food
Imagine Great ape Vegeta PAINTED That would look so good
Only 900 likes!?! What’s going on with you people! These are prime reviews!!
Imagine they made a hulkbuster like this
Can you review the revoltech izuku midoriya. I know you don't like revoltech but I heard it is a great figure and I need your opinion to help me if it is worth it or not. Can you make a video about it please?
My only real gripe with it is that it has no shading or color at all
I was about to buy it because of his review and the price, I'm good.
Thank you!!! I’ve been hyped for your review of this one!!!
Sucks that there is no paint but I liked 2.0 Scouter Vegeta I'm sure I'll like this too but I might skip because of the price
GameStop has him for $135. Offer expires today, though.
Is there any chance you could give this figure a paint job and show everyone how good this figure should have looked?
Idk. I only bought the one and don't really want to customize it.
@@AnthonysCustoms That is understandable, but even a wash of brown grey would really bring out the details.
