Hi❤ Her classic beauty, poise, and ability to convey emotion through photographs made her a favorite of top photographers like Richard Avedon and Irving Penn. Leigh appeared on the covers of major fashion magazines such as *Vogue* and *Harper's Bazaar*, and she worked with leading designers like Christian Dior, most famously becoming the face of his "New Look." Beyond modeling, Dorian Leigh was also a successful businesswoman, opening her own modeling agency in Paris. She played a crucial role in defining the look and style of her era, helping to shape the modern concept of a supermodel.❤
She could have been the model for the first Barbies! The haughty look, perfectly turned out looks and elegant clothes! Not like some of today's models that look like night of the living dead wraiths!
Yes, Cecil Beaton photographed Queen Elizabeth II several times, starting in 1942 when she was still Princess Elizabeth. He became one of the most iconic photographers of the British royal family, known for his highly stylized and glamorous portraits. One of his most famous images is of Queen Elizabeth II on her coronation day in 1953, where she is depicted wearing her coronation robes, capturing the grandeur and majesty of the event. Beaton's work with the Queen helped to shape her public image and contributed significantly to the visual culture of the British monarchy. Thanks for watching ❤️
My Mom would have turned 100 this August. She loved fashion and ALWAYS was well dressed. She didn’t even own a pair of blue jeans! Mom was very sad about the way Americans were dressing later in here life. Even on Friday night women go out to dinner in jeans and tee shirts. Mom thought it was appalling. And, of course, she rightfully thought Hollywood had no fashion taste at all.
1940s Fashion was inspired by Adrian designing for Joan Crawford ..in the 1930s ..... Accenting her body. She had strong shoulders .. hence ..1940s padded shoulder....FACT....😊😅
I think,Dorian Leigh epitomized the glamour and sophistication that characterized the fashion of the late 1940s. Her elegant look, with a refined sense of style, helped popularize the polished and sophisticated aesthetic that defined post-war fashion.😉❤️
I particularly I'd NOT like the use of fur in that era. And I frown on fur. Fur is NOT fashionable in any era. It's appalling to say the least. Fur is inappropriate at all times. Fur must be banned, it's cruelty to animals nothing more. Totally inappropriate. But some of these designs ARE beautiful non the less, but not the ones w/ the inappropriate fur. 😡😠😈👿

It wouldn't have been fun wearing girdles and long line bras which were the standard foundation garments worn under those fashions.

Most people didn't though.
Plus most people were thin.
@@yvonneplant9434 Even thin people wore girdles. How do you think they kept their stockings up.
