I am 64 years old. I have used sunscreen since my 20's. I added a retinol in my 40's, switched to Tretinoin in my 50's. Because of rosacea, I started used Azelaic acid 5 years ago. 2 years ago, I started the Mito Red light therapy. This year, I added vitamin C serum and lactic acid. I feel all these products have improved my skin and overall well being. I also eat a plant based diet and drink lots of green and herbal teas. I do not drink alcohol and I try to get good quality sleep though I don't think I have ever needed more than 6 hours of sleep per night.

Hi Carol.... I was reading your post & noticed you used Azelaic acid for roscea. I'm 60. My skin is extremely sensitive and prone to redness. I can't use any actives esp. on my cheeks. I don't have the typical rosacea I see pictures of. I don't have bumps or texture issues just redness & sensitivity. I was wondering if you use the Azelaic Acid by itself until you got the redness cleared up or do you still use it with your retinol & other actives you used to use? I bet your skin is beautiful. You were a very smart woman. You started using sunscreen in your 20's & all those actives early. What saved me is I had to stay out of the sun because I'm so fair I'd get burnt to a crisp .🙂 Thank you in advance.

@@heathergasol569 My rosacea is expressed as both reddness on my cheeks and bumps on my nose. I kept a food diary for 2 years and figured out that alcohol and vinegar causes me to breakout with bumps on my nose which can take months to resolve. Spicy foods and extreme weather like cold, wind and sun causes my cheeks to turn red. Initially, I used Azelaic acid alone. After about a year, I restarted tretinoin gradually without any problems. Last year I added the Ordinary HA with lactic acid on my face but avoid my cheeks. Recently, I added the Timeless vitamin C serum again avoiding my cheeks. I try to remember to wear a sun protective hat as much as possible. Hope that helps.

Hi, Claudia! I have simplified my routine so much and have found less is more with a few key products. I love skincare and still enjoy these videos, but have spent so much money over the years and now at 56 have realized for myself that there’s so much hype out there as well. We all have different skin types though and I realize the simplicity of what works for me won’t be for everyone. I also have realized many have had other things done and then claim the pricey skincare is what helped them. I guess my point to all this is one doesn’t have to get all these things to have good skin. Actually sometimes more can just be more damaging.
I do like to know what’s out there though and then decide if it’s worth it for my skin, so I appreciate videos like this for that information. Thank you💜

Currently I use tretinoin. .07 from Agency 3 to 4 times- a week and glycolic acid alternating nights. I sub Naturium retrinal for Agency on nights when my skin is feeling dry. I just purchased Volufiline from Sederma and plan on using it mixed with moisturizer on the areas I want more volume -under eyes, above lips and temples. So good to see you back Claudia. Bless your heart, so glad that you’re feeling better and you’ve got your voice back. Thank you so much for bringing us your in depth am and pm skincare routines. At 62, I have learned that “Medical Grade and of course the more expensive skincare actives work soooo much better on my more mature skin. You are testing and using some really great products. There is no way I can afford so so many expensive ones, even though I would give anything to be able to. I am using Tret. But even with good, hydrating skincare serums before applying my Tret., my face still gets so dry and peeling. I hate it. So I am using Medic8 Crystalized Retinaldhyde and my skin loves it. I notice you do not use Hydrating Essences ? Is that because you don’t need them? I am to assume. I for sure am really interested in the Exfoliating pads you use. As a new subscriber, I’ve got to go thru your previous videos re: the actives your using. Your skin is beautiful, you’re beautiful. Thank you for bringing your skincare routines to us. Love it. Claudia, I didn’t see the exfoliating pads you use listed, or missed them. Would you mind telling me which ones they are? I have been using dr.Dennis Gross Triple eye gel Tx. For two plus yrs and it has truly made a huge difference in my crows feet and under eye wrinkles. Diminishing them. Also use it on my lids which has really tightened them up somewhat. Also alleviated the milia under my eyes.

But they do have some other models, which are a bit less expensive and might work well for you. And I believe they sell a stand so you can make it horizontally.

Hi Claudia, thanks for sharing. Looking lovely and your videos are so informative. Hope you are well and settling in at your new location. I have both the Haruharu spf50 and BOJ spf 50 - I like them both - the Black Rice one feels like it is more effective as an SPF but the BOJ one is lighter and more hydrating. Sometimes I just mix the two! I look forward to your review of the Dr. Rajani product but I do feel it is mostly hype and overly expensive. I know you will give an honest review 🥰
Regarding my skincare, I've stopped red light and my home RF device and am now testing medical microneedling (professionally for now) once every 6-8 weeks to see if I notice a difference - thank you for your knowledge on this. I am around your age - my neck.. I neglect it terribly - rarely use cream or sunscreen - and yet (is this genes?) I have no crepiness, sag or lines. I am not sure why - maybe I eat a fair bit of fat like avocados, butter etc and mostly plant-based, but also way too much sugar. xoxo

Thank you for explaining things so thoroughly Claudia. You could be a teacher. I enjoy listening to you so much!!! You're so honest & just a breath of fresh air. I'm so happy I found you. Thank you for purchasing Dr. Rajani's very expensive cream for everyone. That's very kind of you. I purchased a moisturizer a couple years ago that was 387.00 b/c they called it Botox in a jar. 🙂I used it a few times but was sensitive to the smell. You couldn't return it after opening it. So I was ignorant!!! They got me on that one! 🙂Never again! I trusted that person. They have a serum right now I would love to try but it's 597.00. That skincare line has a cleanser for 498.00...yes, a cleanser!!! I thought it was a misprint!! I tried a retinoid from my Dermatologist. My skin got extremely irritated. I am a strawberry blonde with extremely sensitive skin prone to some redness. I'm going to try it again & start very slowly!! I
My skin doesn't care for acids either. I purchased Dr. Gross Alpha Beta pads. I purchased the sensitive pads & they irritated my skin, especially my ckeeks. I have the @myalloy estriol cream. I get my HRT from them as well. The 2nd time I used the cream I used more than I had the first time & my face got very red...it looked like I had a sunburn on my face for several days. Now I'm scared to use it again. It's awful to have such sensitive skin like mine. It really limits what you can use. Thanks again.🥰

Thank you for your thoughtful and kind comment Heather! I am sorry to hear you have such sensitive skin. I used to as well and it can still be reactive at times. But luckily it has gotten a bit hardier. I would say if you try tretinoin again, go super slow. I used it only once a week for one month at the beginning. Then twice for one month and so on.
And wow!! Those are some super expensive skincare products. $500 for a cleanser?! That is crazy. What is the brand?

Hi Claudia! I am a make up lover, so I try to find effective ingredients at a reasonable price point. I double cleanse with Gokujyun Oil Cleansing and Neutrogena Hydro Boost Cleansing Milk. I have sensitive skin and these two products do the job nicely. During the day I use Klairs Supple Prep Facial Toner, Timeless 20% Vitamin C, The Ordinary Lactic Acid 5%, Timeless Coenzyme Q10 Serum, Cerave Moisture Lotion, and Haruharu Wonder Black Rice Sunscreen. At night same cleanser and toner followed 0.1% tretinoin cream. Then over that I will apply Timeless Matrixyl Synth 6 serum, and Cosrx Calming Moisturizer. I alternate a couple of times per week at night with Noid Copper Amino Isolate Serum. I also use Maelove The Night Renewer Glycolic Cream. I just stopped using My Alloy Estriol cream but am debating whether of not to go back to it because it is evidence based. I also use my Omnilux mask 5 nights per week along with the zip halo. I do gua sha as well as facial Massage which I think have made huge differences, but it is so hard to tell if it is one or a combination of all that make the difference. It's almost like a part-time job keeping up with everything. No to mention the tca peels and microneedling schedules to adhere to. 😊 But at 63 I am very happy with my skin after battling years of sun and tanning bed exposure. I use Timeless Co Q 10 serum, Naturium Transexamic Acid 5% serum( trying it out) I use Kranicel 70% Bifida serum( absolutely love it), Niacinamide serum, Medic8 Glow liquid exfoliate, the Am & Pm moisturizers. They came out with a new one for Am& Pm. I’ve received two deluxe samples of this and My Skin Loves it. So very hydrating. I also use Peter Thomas Roth Pumpkin Enzyme Mask ( once/ wk ). I use a lot of essences, sheet mask and of course several different Korean SPF’s. That’s the only SPFs I will wear. I’ve used Reviv Ultimate Serum and I’ve went thru two bottles of Photozyme Youth Serum( never really seen any results from it) the Reviv; takes so long to get. I know you use their eyelash serum, so I e got to get that. Right now I’m using Scorolash eyelash and eyebrow serums. I love everything I’ve tried of Punkang Yul line. I’m using his Eyecream and I absolutely love it. It has really stopped my lids from being so dry and peeling and has stopped the dryness under my eyes. Oh, I use Tret from ReliableRx. I love it. Also use Hydroquinone 4% for 3 mo., then off for a couple months. I really want to add growth factors into my skin care routine is there a favorite one that you use and or recommend? Oh, I bought Skinfood Royal Honey Propolis EnrichEssence 63%. This is amazing for applying as my last step before applying my Tret. It’s really stopped my skin from being irritated and peeling. I use the Tret one eve., the next the Medic8 Retinaldhyde 10. My skin loves it. I purchase 3tubes of Tret 0.05% for under $50.00. I’m not sure I’m really liking Medic8 Luxe THD serum, I use so much less than they recommend, it feels oily, but does take a few to absorb. Pollen is a major problem most cities plant trees that are male and so they put out a ton of pollen there aren’t that many female trees and so none of that pollen is actually used I know that sounds weird but I was talking to someone who is an arborist, Who gave me this information I found it quite interesting

Forgive me if you’ve already talked about it, but have you had any skinboosters like Profhilo? I’ve been trying to decide on a doctor to do my blepharoplasty and get skinvive, Botox, RESTYLANE in my lips and chin and maybe ultraclear laser and PDO threads. The whole shebang. 😊

    • @privatetatum

Or RF microneedling with exosomes. I can’t decide what will work best with my stupid thin skin.😢

    • @claudiaglows
      @claudiaglows  6 месяцев назад

I have had profhilo when we lived in Italy as it was dirt cheap, but to be honest, I did not notice much. I have tried it a couple more times, but could never really see a difference. The hair dresser I just saw does skinvive and her skin was incredible. She did not have any visible pores and she said it was from that.

I would be a bit careful with the RF microneedling, since it can, in the wrong hands, melt fat

I love your videos but the clarity of your voice is muffled & over magnified as if you're in a tunnel. The only time I can clearly understand you is when you wear a microphone when you're interviewing, but I am sooo sorry but maybe you need a new phone, I don't know! Please forgive my criticism. I use Defenage neck cream & it is truly the best out there that I have tried & it really smooths out my neck. I think I'll stick with the Adipeau for volume instead of Dr. Rajani's Volufiline. I pray you feel better with rest!!!

Hi Claudia . Hope your feeling better . The Alastin serum is wonderful , they had me massage that into my skin after sculptra . Do you use the Estrogen cream all the nights you use tretinoin ? That would be up to 6 nights you use acids and retinoids together along with the estrogen ? I remember you said you microneedle on Sat nights it’s ok to use the glycolic pads on Sunday ? You have your routine down to a science I love it . Do you use the MAYSAMA toner ? I like that one in between stronger acids . I looked up doing a peel using retinoids like the one you did using Zo. Newport Beach dermatology & plastic surgery posted instructions on a peel using tretinoin .025%-0.1% the stronger the better ! Apply TWO pea sized amounts of Retin-A or Tretinoin cream morning and night for 1 week then return to your regular nightly use of the R or T cream being careful around the eyes They recommended applying VaniCream or MD Intensive night repair am / pm ( their own product 107$ ) which by the way has fabulous ingredients . I wanted to use something I already have and with directions . Thank you for all your detailed routines have a great week ❌⭕️

Hi Sue, thank you for your kind words. Yes, I use the estrogen cream nightly. I do cosmetic needle on Fridays (for the most part :)), and then use the AHA pads on Sunday.
