I’m a 48 year old guy and no idea about skin care etc but signs of aging have caught up with me and decided to do something about it. I have been using serums for around a year now and have finally got my head around their uses, layering them and the list goes on.
I came across micro needling and thought here we go again something else to figure out, but your videos have given me the confidence to give it a go. Your explanation of all the 3 uses nano, cosmetic and medical are simply the best on You Tube. Just want to say a BIG THANKS for your time and passion in making your tutorials and I found your explanation of the pen depth settings and what to expect in terms of initial redness of the skin and post aftercare.
Have you ever thought of making a video aimed at men? All the best from Yorkshire, England. ❤

Hi, I absolutely love reading your comment! I’m really glad that some of my videos have been helpful to you. I can only imagine that the skincare world must be confusing to a man. My husband, who sees me put on all kinds of serums and creams, still shakes his head, after being together for 13 years :-)
I could definitely make a video for men, if you think that would be helpful.
In the meantime, though, I truly think one of the most important things you can do is to use sunscreen on a daily basis. I wish I would have done so much sooner, but even existing some damage can be somewhat repaired with continuous sunscreen use
Please never hesitate to reach out if I can help with anything

Thank you for your quick response and encouraging words.
I think a mention in your amazing videos about needling and how it could benefit male skin too would definitely widen your audience. Even us English Cavemen (it wouldn’t be admitted) do like to take care of ourselves and the rise in male grooming products/interventions is just as equal to that if females here in the UK - it’s certainly different from when I was in my 20’s!
You will be pleased to know I always wear a factor 50 every day and what ever the weather, u fortunately I was a sun worshiper in my younger days and the damage is now starting to show - I wish I could talk to my younger self!
Thank you again for your valuable time and the inspiration that you give many a newbie into the world of skincare! X

Thank you, Claudia! I wanted to watch completely before I commented. Couple things: I want to make sure I get absolutely correct:
Cosmetic Microneedling 1x/week. Needle Depth: .25mm-.3mm no serums/numbing necessary. Stamping instead of circles. 36 needle cartridges, speed 4-5. Can use growth factors or Cos deBaha (?) high molecular weight hyaluronic acid serum immediately after. Normal skincare too. (I now have both pens you have lol!)
“Medical” Microneedling: 1x every 4-6 weeks. Depth: .5 mm-1mm or higher on less bony areas of face. .25 mm on undereye skin, pulled down skin onto orbital bone. Speed is still 4-5 for stamping technique but cartridge is 16 needles. Can numb skin. Wash thoroughly. Use high molecular HA and nothing else for 24 hours (mineral sunscreen if needed.)
I saved this video and am going to rewatch it. Also, would probably be more helpful if at all possible to do a separate video for deeper micro needling and go more in-depth on what is best for that. It gets kind of confusing in this one, but again I need to go back over it.
Definitely would love an aftercare video too!
I purchased a book recommendation from someone else by a Dr. Lance Setterfield, but it seems more physiological than actual technique at this point? I’m starting to hear there’s two different philosophies on needle depth, actual collagen induction at shallower depths and length of time. Did they update for safety reasons? Where I live in the states, we don’t have “Medical Microneedling” available. (I think every state is different, but where I live it’s not available.) Thus the at-home use. I definitely get infection control procedures. I do invasive procedures all the time in my field, so that’s not a problem.
I’m extremely interested in this modality but I cannot get further schooling where I live. (Similarly, lasers are not permitted in any type of in-office practice/med spa etc here, if that helps you understand a bit on why this post is so long! Lol!).
THANK YOU for your updated demonstration. I highly value your education. 😊💜💖💜💖💜💖💜

Hi, thank you for being here. Yes, you got everything correctly :).

@@claudiaglows You’re awesome, Claudia. 💖Thank you for confirming. I rewatched it several times and caught more information I missed in my initial watch. I have used a .25mm dermaroller in the past, but what you showed with the banana peels confirms what I have experienced. I wouldn’t realize I was dragging the roller and lightly scratched my skin. Plus there’s apparently been some concern that actual surgical steel needles aren’t being used for more inexpensive rollers. I like the stamping method better. And I think until I get used to the pen vs the roller, you’re right about staying around .5mm. Thank you again for excellent education!

@@claudiaglows Hi Claudia! I absolutely had to update you. 😊 I literally just worked up the confidence to Cosmetic microneedle with the Dr. Pen A6S tonight. I did things a bit differently. I used the 36 needle cartridge at a depth of .25 mm (lowest depth) all over but set speed on 6 (didn’t hurt as much as lower speeds) I completely cleaned my skin, used alcohol wipes for disinfecting skin (let dry) disinfected my hands and device (IC is part of my field). I stamped my face and neck, but didn’t use anything except Timeless Hyaluronic Acid afterward. I didn’t use any numbing cream and I got used to it. No pinpoint bleeding, nice erythema but nothing else product wise except the Timeless HA (Penn Smith also recommended that as I can’t get the cos deBaha for several months.) I can’t afford EFG’s, so I’m sticking with simplicity for now. Currently, skin feels dry and tight, but I expected that. I went low and slow with IC a top priority. I love it! So much better than the roller for me! I have you and Penny to thank! I used to use Stacked Skincare serums after dermarolling, but they’re expensive now and I’m not sure they’re appropriate with this technique. I will slowly work up to .5mm but I am over the moon. Thank you, thank you, thank you! 😊💖💜

Ciao Bella, it is really great to hear from you, thank you so much for your sweet comment. I am glad this video was helpful. Regarding radio, frequency, microneedling, unless you have a specific device, doing the two separately at home is not going to give you the same results as an office. The radio frequency has to be delivered through the needles to be as effective as an office treatment. You can buy those devices for at home, but they’re quite expensive. I would also be really careful with this treatment, because I do think there is a risk of facial fat loss. Sending you lots of love.

I wish to microneedle them but was unsure of the frequency. I have heard the skin renewal cycle (on the back) is much slower than the face so I was thinking of doing it more often to encourage the healing. Your thoughts are welcome. Thank you.

As far as microneedling your arms, if it were me I would still stick to the every 4-6 weeks window. You can go a bit deeper on the arms. And there is a study showing that mucroneedling combined with retin a can really help acne scars, so that might be something to consider for your scars.

I mentioned below about the Rf micro-needling, there is really no worries about fat loss. I've been doing it myself at home for 3 years now. I have a question about the dermapen, have you never done 2.5mm on your face? I generally do almost the whole face at this depth🤭, except for the eyes. Lately I also stamp, more painful but also more effective. I have never used anaesthesia, do you use it for medical piercing?

When I first started needling I did got 2.5mm, but I no longer do. I honestly do not think it is necessary to go that deep, but if it works for you, that is great.

thank you for your kind comment. You want to look for high molecular weight hyaluronic acid. The Cos da Baha is a good one
I made another video shorty after this one showing how I do my neck and decollete. If you go to playlists and then microneedling, it will be the most current one

Hi Tina, thank you so much for being here. I’m glad this video was helpful. So ideally, after medical needling, for the first few days, you really just want to use high molecular weight, hyaluronic acid well again a product that is safe to be used after medical needling. Since I know how my skin reacts, I’m not quite as careful, I will buy day two usually start with my regular products again minus the Retin-A. Retin-A is usually something I start back up with on the third day. But, just to be on the safe side, the gentler and clean other products afterwards, even for the first three days, the better, especially if you don’t know how your skin is going to react.

Hello Claudia, Its always so enjoyable to watch your videos.
What would we women do without your great help 🥰
Regarding the Cos de Baha pure hyaluronic acid serum, do you know if this product is STERILE?
I watched another RUclips channel about microneedling and it was specified to only use sterile hyaluronic acid serums, to avoid infections or granulomas.
Maybe I am overly "picky" but I just want to be sure that this specific product is ok.
Also, would this Cos De Baha be ok to use for 1mm needle depth? My jowls wrinkles and neck wrinkles are really bad.
thank you for all that you do and for your helpful suggestions.

    • @claudiaglows
      @claudiaglows  12 дней назад

Hi Sonja, thank you for your kind words. No, it is not a sterile product as it comes in a dropper bottle. If you want sterile, you need to get something that comes in a one time use vial.
But yes, it can be used to needle 1mm deep

      Hi Stefany
I think it is a great device, but the company practices very strange business practices, including billing customers if they date ti ask questions or have a different opinion and I do not want to support that
It us a hit more powerful than the dr pen, but I am really happy with my dr pen

Such a friendly person and great explanations. Thank you so much. So I won't be circulating with my pen. But my question is: I would like to use 0.5 depth. Then hyaluronic acid. I had seen somewhere that you can also apply Vaseline afterwards. Is that okay, or just hyaluronic acid and a day cream? Kind regards from Germany.

Hi Claudia informative and instructional videos which brand of the thermostat as well as the dermapen would you recommend for someone doing these procedures at home?
Also I'm not sure if you've done these videos already however I had a appreciate if you did some videos on how you would approach the medical microneedling under the chin the neck chest area as well as under the eyes eyebrows Etc thank you for your time in creating these videos. You're a blessing🙏🏾

Hi, thank you so much for your lovely comment. I actually have a whole playlist on micro needling, and in that you will find how I personally do the neck and around the eyes. If you go to my channel page, there is a option for playlists where you can also find videos on shorts. Click on that and then click on micro needling. Please let me know if you cannot find it. Personally, I use a Dr pen as well as Dr stamp. They have many different models of pens, you really can’t go wrong with any of them.

Hi beautiful. Such a in-depth video. Loved it 😍🙏 ah i am still planning to get this machine😂 but since i got skin irritation after using Tretinoin and in the morning vitamin C, i think i need to wait. I do now doing better. I still use my tretinoin 0.035 strength and started using Ferulic vit C a few times a week, but i dont put vit c direct on the skin. I add a few drops to my cream, and that doesnt irritate as much. Hopefully in a month or two, i will be able to start micro needling. You medical micro needle only once a month? I guess i will have to wait to increase my tretinoin strength 🤔Is it more important to add micro needling with existant routine? Have a blessed day🙏💗

Your knowledge is amazing! You're far too modest when saying you're not an expert! You say the stamping action gives cleaner results. I think you should be okay doing circles on the cheeks. Boney targets, such as the forehead and temples would be better off with a stamping action, so not to leave imprints afterwards. I like your example of longer needles going in more when fewer are used.

    • @claudiaglows

    Claudia, I love your content.❤❤❤
I’m going to medical needle with the dexacell this weekend.
    Question:
So I thought that if you as going shallow (ie 0.3mm or less: cosmetic needling) you should inc the speed. And when you go deeper (medical needling) you need to decrease the speed bc it takes longer for the needles to go up and down. Is this correct?

    • @claudiaglows
      @claudiaglows  5 месяцев назад

Hi, thank you for your kind comment
To be honest, I do t know the answer. I started staking about 1year ago and there is not too much info out there as far as does when stamping. So I just always go on medium to high

    Hi Claudia!
Thank you again for amazing content!
So I did the stamping technique on my face. I went to 2.0mm on my cheeks, nose and chin. And 1.5 on my forehead. I used the dexacell even tho I don’t really need slip.
But I was getting tired. So for my neck and Dec I did little tiny circles and I used the dex there. When I was finally finished I used the Alastin all over.
Do you think this was a good protocol in terms of which products I used?
Skin feels so soft right now. I’m going to hit my BioMaxx RL/NIR panels too.
    Thank you. ❤

Hi Claudia. First, this is a great tutorial on MN. I wanted to ask about prepping your face and how you clean the skin in preparation. I saw some people use alcohol wipes but that looks incredibly drying. Is just cleansing your skin with a good cleanser how you do the preparation before MN? I’m referring to cosmetic MN. Thanks :)

    • @claudiaglows
      @claudiaglows  6 месяцев назад

      Hi Gillian
I agree with you, alcohol on my skin does not seem appealing
For cosmetic needling, while you need to have clean skin, it does not have to be sterile
I double cleanse my skin before cosmetic needling
