    charger for lipo batteries pack at home correctly and prevent explosion • How to charge li-ion b...
    The correct process for charging this type of batteries is as follows there are 2 stages in charging the 18650 batteries comparing to the lead acid batteries that require 3 stages of charging.
    In lithium battery first stage is constant current witch is recomanded to be 0.5 C rate until 4v and then constant voltage till 4.2v or less thats way most cheap chargers provide just constant voltage so eliminating on process result in short life of the batteries and decreasing the li-ion life cycle in theory a 18650 lithium battery can deliver 5000cycles meaning charge-discharge-charge full that is a full cycle and some diy enthusiasts found out if the full cycle is diminuated slytly not charging all the way or discharging can extend the life of this lithium battery with 40%.
    The Imax b6 is a specially designated lipo charger that has the function to charge lipo, Li-ion, nicad,nimh and lead-acid also a very important function is balancing and discharging for lithium single or multi pack.

      hello sir, you have no idea how much of a pain it was to find this page and post again. lol. But I had a question and thought of you.
      I've got two car jumpstarters that both have issues with their internal boards. ones power switch broke off, the other has a component that kept cycling so hit as to melt the plastic (do NOT buy Schumacher brand). I also have an audio sound bar that has it's own psu internally that converts 110ACV into 24DCV before providing power to the amp circuit board. Maybe you see....?
      I'd like to stack both those lipos inside, wire them in series, and output to the amp board. instant portable soundbar rechargeable with the imax. see any issues, other than being the coolest guy in town and needing a big stick to fend off women?

      John Bobbitt the general rule for batteries in series is unbalance with time, iMax b6 is good for that. You have to keep in mind that lipo are a little different from li-ion,they are meant to be discharged fast meaning they can provide great amount of amps for a short period of time that's why are used in jump starters, but with some current limiter it may work

    Why would you recommend people to parallel charge 18650’s?
    With a charger like this you should wire the 18650 battery holder in series and add a JST-HX balance leads. This will allow all the cells to fully charge.
    Charging in parallel like your showing wont charge all the cells to max cap because when the first cell reaches max cap charger will turn off leaving the rest of the cells only partially charged.

    This video is terrible and completely wrong. It will only charge at a constant current for so long and then it has its own charging algorithm built into the charger so you can't follow the manufacturers guideline. Buy a Li-Ion cell charger...you're gonna burn your house down. And you're charging current is completely wrong. If it was a constant current per the graph it said 0.6mAh.

    • @NoSkillsRequired

      auricom24 yes lipo need to be balanced because they are different from liion. Lipos are power cells capable to deliver huge amount of power for short period of time that's way you need to balance them to protect them from drifting in a multicellular pack. You need a 4v constant current and then till 4.2v constant voltage any charger that can do that is a good charger in my opinion all the best

    When charging Li-ion, choose Li-Io setting. Charging Li-Po, use the Li-po setting.
    Charging LiFe, use the LiFe setting.
    To select between battery types:
    Go to - User Set menu - Enter.
    Press + Hold Enter until Amps flashes - Adjust charging Amps as required pressing Inc or Dec.
    Press Enter to switch to voltage position.
    Now you can use Inc + Dec buttons to change between the 3 different Li** voltage types
    3.6v = LiLo.
    3.7v = LiPo.
    3.3v = LiFe.
    Select what you want to charge + press Enter.👍

    • @NoSkillsRequired
      @NoSkillsRequired  6 лет назад +1

      The balancing is another chapter and the opinions about that are many theoretically if you will match the cells with the similar capacity you will not need a balancer circuit,and li-ion are different than lipo(must have a balancer) you have to experiment with it and choose what works best for you

    • @situbes.972
      @situbes.972 5 лет назад

      I think the internal resistance of li ion is much higher than lipo. Also li ion discharge rate is much lower than lipo. So with that, they would balance self out easier, but i suppose if ur charging more 3s than yeah i would use balancing port to be on safe side.

      Ok I'm far from a battery expert so if I'm full of shit then so be it, but I don't think this is right. Balancing is for multi-cell packs, and these are 1 cell batteries, so even if you're parallel charging one of them, the charger still sees them as just a bigger 1s battery so I don't think balancing is necessary. Or even possible for that matter since there's nothing to balance. Like I said if I'm no expert so I might be completely wrong, but that's how I've always seen it done with 1s batteries. How would you even go about balancing without a balance lead?

      Speed Freak possible these days we are surrounded by fakes but this a well made fake and works it wasn't cheap but I am seeing more and more Chinese stuff on Amazon starting from a standard product and they branded and advertise and sell for higher price. As you can see in the video I am doubting if is genuine

      NoSkillsRequired , The Genuine one up the top above the screen says iMAX B6 mini SKYRC, and where the banana plugs go in there gold looking and underneath there is a holographic sticker where you can scratch off and there is a number there to look up on the SKYRC website to confirm it is a genuine item, and it comes in a white box not the black one 👌🏼👍🏻. I am sure yours does work fine but there is a difference , I have one and there a good beginners charger but I like the ISDT Q6 Pro. it can charge big LIPOS 6S at 10 Amps easy.👍🏻

    18650 works the same as lipo
    18650=3.2-4.2volt
    lipo=3.2-4.2volt
    with 18650 dont go over 1amp charge (???)
    with lipo you can go 1C charge
