How many hours do you have on your bike now? I know the app records total hours. I’m just curious how far you can really push it before needing a new piston.

Man you have the best bike videos on RUclips. Honest and real reviews on the most bikes that interest me. I’ve got and have owned a ton of bikes but I’ve always wanted to do a 450FX build just like this just haven’t pulled the trigger on one because of this economy. I’d like to know how much mileage or hours you can get out of a top end on one of these on the street because I think it would last vs what most people say about the engine life on a 450fx engine. I think their experience is most with dirt riding and race intervals.

I remember that time when your battery died and you had to go to that mini mart gas station to get a tool to take off your
seat to get to it. That was a trippy video, thank goodness someone had a tool for you that night!
I own a 2008 r6, 2012 r1, 2021 r3 and I still love my wr250 supermoto the most. Considering a 450 now 😩
CycleCruza, you missed by not understanding the 2024 WR450f. It's everything that the FX is with a stator and a headlight. Delete the intake and the exhaust snorkel, add a ECU for 200 and you are a FX at a cheaper price. Easier and cheaper to Motard than and FX.
I know a lot of motocross guys. Ive asked them about the 12 hr topend rebuild. They say the 12hr rebuild is referencing racing mainly, not leisurely riding and most of the time 12hr is over kill in racing.
On a 4 stroke i never had any issues, on my ktm 250sxf i bought it with 5 hours and sold it with 80 hours. Riding motocross
It's so the company can cover their ass. So if a piston blows up at 15 hours they can deny any warranty work because you didn't follow the maintenance schedule. It's complete horseshit because my husky manual states 80 hours for a piston kit, on a two stroke, for racing purposes.

I bought a 2014 wr450f in april and supermoto converted it. It was sold by June. Thing was like riding a chainsaw.

The seat height would be the same as any full size dirtbike, I believe 38.4 inches

Definitely want a supermoto, but between my RSV4 Factory and hooligan fun on my Grom. I'd have to sell my Grom to justify buying another fool around hooligan bike. And the Grom is just pure fun popping wheelies everywhere and anywhere, you just can't not have a great time on it.

Can't get one legal where I live so it is a waste of time. I have a DRZ400SM and it is a blast though. Not as powerful, but still enough to have fun. Did a few mods and may add an exhaust in the future.
You can register any dirt bike out of state via South Dakota online. Then just ride on the plate you get in the mail or swap that to your local dmv. Can also register it via a LLC in Montana which the plates never expire. Cost like $125/year for the LLC fees if you do it that way.
Cool bike. I went with the 24 500excf as it will likely end up as an adv bike. The 6 speed is much better suited to that. I had a wr450f and it was awesome so I can only imagine how much fun the YZ must be.

Thank you for your research and insight!!! I owed before aprilia dorsoduro which is brutal but heavy bike.Last two years I had Honda cb650r that is nice bike but boring for me and I just sold it. As I use my bike only in the city I need something like this,light,easy to avoid city dense traffic and if needed go up and down the stairs.I just need to see regulations in my country regarding atesting it to be street legal.If anybody have any other suggestions please go right ahead.

Unfortunately in EU no new Japanese race enduro motorcycle can be road registered so your only option for street legal race enduro bike converted to supermoto is KTM , its sister brands and Beta / Sherco.
That’s why i bought street legal frame from yamaha wr450r so i can get my new yz450f street legal here in Finland.

How good are those adventure tires on the street? Is there much of a trade off compared to the versatility they add?
We have a2018 Yamaha 230 never had to do a valve adjustment and we check it they are bullet proof bikes
Nice! Yamaha dirt bikes rule.
I'd avoid the cheap street tires with no silica and get some tires with the silica embedded in them. The silica grip makes a BIG improvement in grip on wet roads.
Better yet, for a super moto, if you wanna do lot's of street & off road, get some 50/50 dual compound tread silica embedded tires.
I went from dual compound silica street tires to cheaper Kenda single compound no silica and it was scary if I got caught in rain 🆚 the silica dual compounds I could practically ride like normal in the rain.

I'm still in the experiment stage of my super-moto experience, I bought a 08 WR250-X , with only about 5,000 miles on it. But the owner never rode it. And never used it as a super-moto. He took the super-moto wheels off, and put nobbies on it, After having it for a few months I went to put the slicks on it, to convert it back to super-moto but the shop wouldn't put them back on, because they were too old. Next year I will buy some new slicks. But I have to say, I really enjoy riding it as a duel sport. I love riding it off road. Just with the nobbies on it, It is already the funniest bike I have of all my bikes, so I'm curious to see if it is even more fun as a super-moto. Peace Cruza.

both my ktm can do all that same shit on the cell phone. ignition, fueling, add tach, multiple maps. traction control 0-10 system,
@@CycleCruzathat's BS. I know a guy who did a 2 week 10000km road trip on a EXC500. All he did is 4 oil changes (he only changed the filter 2x) and that's it. The new 500's are really reliable. Not the mention they are the most powerful ones of these lightweight bikes
@@CycleCruzaDon't know about the 500 but the old 525 exc is bulletproof, all the KTM rfs range are. I only changed top end on my 450 exc at 250 hours for peace of mind and nearly 500 hours now and not a single problem, still on the same bottom end! Very much doubt these Yamahas will be capable of that. My 525 has about 150 hours on it and again not a single problem. I think you'll have to do a top end on these Yamahas before 250 hours...
@@fff-fv6xhsounds biased. I have a 450 exc with close to 500 hours on and still on the same bottom end, only changed top end at 250 hours for peace of mind, put a hi comp piston in. Not a single problem since I've owned the bike ( 10 years ) rfs ktms are awesome!

In EU you can’t make this japanese bikes street legal. That’s why i bought street legal frame from yamaha wr450r so i can get my new yz450f street legal here in Finland.

No way that bike is low maintenance. You are supposed to change the oil every 50-100 hours correct? That would be an oil change every week for me.
I don’t even consider oil change maintenance it is so easy basic thing to do. Real maintenance for me is valve adjusting or engine rebuild.

The principal of Tallmadge high school is my old physics teacher from stow. He's passionate and Tallmadge has a good guy in that regard.
Yz450 conversion isn’t 50 state legal.. gotta jump though hoops just to make it semi legal.. Crf450L is 50 state legal.. put a cam in the L and you’ll make just as much power if not more.. takes about the same money to do both.. with less effort with the Honda.. did 116 mph on mine gps confirmed if you don’t believe me about the power
Forget about "legal". You can do whatever you want as long as you don't register it with any state. Doing so gives them ownership over the bike. Be a man, pay cash and take the M.C.O. in hand.
