Hello folks! Just letting you know I changed the title of this video, since it was previously called Life is Strange 2. TBH, I didn't think this was actually LiS 2 but wanted to be uniform with what I was seeing posted all over youtube so my video wouldn't be missed (lol). To clarify: this is isn't Life is Strange 2! DONTNOD stated in their recent video that there would be no LiS2 news at E3 so there ya go.

Mr. Harris I really liked Ashly Burch :c but when I heard Chloe say "Rachel" I first thought it was Ashley so maybe the new voice actor for Chloe would do good for young Chloe.

one of my thoughts is after Rachel died, her powers transferred to Max either by Rachel's choice or some higher power, so it's possible Rachel has powers in the game but keeps them secret from chloe

This isn't the sequel Dontnod was talking about. This is made by another company Deck Nine, the Dontnod sequel will probably be out next year.

knoxiousification I know but the Video was Titled "Life is Strange 2: Before the Storm" I was just trying to correct the confusion if people thought that this was in fact the second Life is Strange project by Dontnod.
NuclearSharkhead we will be playing as Chloe no rewind powers so our decisions stick no going back, and LIS2 will be a third game in the series technically, but probably with different characters.
It's also going to be voiced by another voice actress however Ashly Burch was part of the writing for Chloe.

I noticed Frank wearing a beanie very similar to the one Chloe wears in the first game. I wonder if that's who gave it to her, which makes me wonder if they had a closer relationship than she admitted telling Max about.

This is my favorite trailer reaction of all time! I keep coming back here periodically, for the feels.
Theory for William in the car crash :
I think it's part of a dream or nightmare Chloe is having. The few parts of that scene we see in the car are very dark and have a glowy filter added on top of them. I believe this intertwines with the scene of Chloe taking off her hood next to the train and could be foreshadowing Chloe's thoughts* of suicide (She was close to stepping in front of a train, has the nightmare, and steps out of the way). Also in the "nightmare" Chloe reaches out and puts her hand on the window, connecting with another persons hand which I believe is Rachel. Given the golden look to the scene it makes sense that it is Rachel because of how Chloe describes her as being "her angel" in LIS 1. Rachel showing up in her dream can symbolize how Rachel saved her from depression and how much she still impacts Chloe. 💙

Ok but from what the trailer showed, they got William's death wrong. From what I saw, Chloe was in the car with William, which got hit by a train. In the original game, he left while Max and Chloe were at their house. Also, I think they said that he was hit by a drunk driver, not a train? It happened really fast in the trailer so I couldn't make out if William was the one driving when it showed Chloe in the truck/If Chloe was in the truck while he was being hit. The rest is good and Rachel is great. Also if Kate isn't in it I'm going to sue.

I'm SO excited that we might get to know Rachel now, but I'm bummed because it looks like we won't get to see what Max is up to at all.
Alicia Stroven We'll get to see and play as the young Max in the bonus "Farewell" episode featured in the Deluxe edition of the game. I think this is the final goodbye between her and Chloe before she moved away :(

I hope Jefferson is a part of the story. Maybe not in a direct way, but enough to really give you the creeps about what he's up to. Getting even a glimpse into his relationship with Rachel would be so interesting.
I do think we're getting TWO LiS games; Season 2 and a prequel. Either way, I'm hella excited

Pause ... this is before the storm William was shown being hit by the train @0:56 William didn't die that way before the storm. (I mean with chloe in the car) He died while chloe was younger so is she possibly having a flashback of William dying and putting herself in the car so she could warn him.🤔 and if they got into that incident they'd both be dead. Chloe can rewind too? The animal that came to her window was a crow. You can tell because of the beak and the constant flapping of the wings also the tail. I've also looked into an article that stated "The crow is a spirit animal associated with life mysteries and magic. The power of this bird as totem and spirit guide is provide insight and means of supporting intentions. Sign of luck, it is also associated with the archetype of the trickster; be aware of deceiving appearances. If the crow has chosen you as your spirit or totem animal, it supports you in developing the power of sight, transformation, and connection with life’s magic." And Life is strange deals with alot of symbolism and things of that source. So that might explain the mysterious tobanga we see in the game. At the top of the tobanga we see a bird like figure could that have been the crow? Back to the crow though I believe the crow will symbolize chloe's mystery and possibly magic? This is just one of my theory's. It sorta leave me confused though if chloe had powers why weren't they show in the first game. Hm but that does remind me of when Chloe was at the diner with Max and she said "Max you have powers" Showing that she is impressed by Max's powers probably because she is more impresssed with her powers instead of her own.Max also warned chloe her powers weren't a toy. Could this be the reason Chloe's powers were expelled? So chloe used all of her powers for fun before they went away as she advised Max to do so as well. It seems as if there is always a human sacrifice in life is strange so maybe Chloe overused her powers causing Rachel to be sacrificed? Or maybe she used her powers for the good just as max did when she chose to sacrifice chloe over Arcadia Bay? ☺️ Love this game so much though ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Actually, regarding the whole "Raven" thing, the first time I saw the picture of the bird I immediately said to myself "that's a crow." Not because of it's appearance, but because the meaning and symbolism that crows hold:
Crows have a lot of different symbolism, most popularly they are associated with "death" but I feel like they hold a different sort of symbolism:
They can mean "destiny" which was a word commonly used throughout Life Is Strange, Chloe commented she was delaying her real destiny.
They can also mean "personal transformation" which I think Chloe will go through, we'll see her change, evolve into the Chloe we know her as currently.
They can also mean "fearlessness" which we see through Chloe standing in-front of the train, and butting heads with those guys.
ALSO, Really interestingly, the "Crow" is meant to hold prophetic insight, and if you pay real close attention to a Crow, it is meant to give you clues on how you can use it's magic.
AND - If the crow has chosen YOU, it supports you in developing the power of sight and personal transformation.

Just so everyone knows, Ashly Burch isn't voicing Chloe for this new game. She is in on the voice acting strike, but she is a writing consultant on the game.
I had the same reactions ! It's incredible to see how much impact LiS had on many of us for our reactions to be so emotional ! Seeing Chloe, Rachel or Max again feels like seeing real life friends for the first time in forever !
Sometimes I wonder if LiS is a game for true or a secret social experiment. I am pretty sure people's reactions to that game can say a lot about them.

It's amazing to be able to share this with you again! Just watching your reaction brought back so many memories of your old reaction videos, the game, and how we met! I'm a little curious about what the game mechanics are going to be (like...time travel? Chloe didn't have that, as far as she remembers, right?).
Anyway, I guess what matters is that we're getting another game, more Chloe, more of Ashly Burch's voice, and a whole lot more concurrent crying, I assume.

Chloe is the butterfly
Kate is the rabbit/bunny (i know it probably doesn't matter just wanted to throw it out) (oh and Samuel is the squirrel)
Rachel is the blue jay that max saved if you did that option in the first game (plus also it looks like Rachel is wearing a blue jay earring feather,( something like that)
William/Chloe's Dad is the crow/raven

Most will know that the crow means death. But after some light reading I learned that if a crow visits you at your window, it's a warning that that a loved one is about to die. First before, and then again after your loved one has passed. Sooo.... Rachel?
Gonna be honest, I'm quite disapointed. I remember that they mentioned that lis 2 would be a completely different game. It was a while back, but they said something about it just keeping the theme of superpowers and changing the people and plot completely. I think that would've been a better choice and a better game. However, can't judge a book by it's cover, maybe it's going to be good. Maybe they never said that the game was going to be different and I just heard it somewhere else.
Dontnod is developping a sequel with other characters, so this prequel is released to make the waiting for it easier or something.

crows always are a symbol of death so i think death will be a major major major theme, probably around chloe's dad and Rachel and maybe something else
by the way. this isn't Life is Strange 2. This is the prequel. Life is Strange 2 was not shown at E3 this year.
Is this the season we find out that Chloe had powers that resulted in Rachel winding up where she was with Jefferson which set everything in motion with Max in the first season?

I thought I'd have a bigger reaction than I had but since I was watching someone stream e3 while commenting on it, when the trailer started, he said "oh, this is life is strange" so the element of surprise was completely gone for me. The first thing I thought was how did that dude know it was life is strange? Next I thought "will we play as Max or a new character?" Before reviling Chloe, I was thinking "is that Max?" I was surprised that it was Chloe. Then I saw Rachel and thought "ohhhh, it's a prequel". Then I saw episode one of three and thought "one of three? Seems kind short compared to the first game unless the episodes are longer" Then I saw the release date and thought "wow, that's a lot sooner then expected. I thought it was in early development and no game play existed yet".
YESSSS!!! I'm so excited to play it and see you play it!! I think I might cry a little, I missed the LIS girls so much

Anima, I have thought something. What if Chloe has the power to see events that have happened in a place when she touches an object of the place?There is a point in the trailer in which you see a hand touching a crystal. And later it looks as if Chloe was in the car next to its father when it had the accident in which he died.
In my culture (Native American.) Crows have signified not only death but also a storm. And since this game has been known to surround Native culture, I wouldn't be surprised if it's something like that.

I think the crow might be Chloe's spirit animal. It's possible. The crow symbolizes destiny, mystery, mischief among other things. It's considered a bad omen and is associated with death. Death of her dad maybe? In some cultures it's considered the spirit animal of someone has the power to manipulate the law of the universe. It's just an idea..

I think it's actually a crow instead of a raven, although it could be artistic style so it's a bit hard to tell. Ravens have huge wingspan and a thick beak, but the bird here has smaller wingspan and thinner, more pointed beak which is more of a crow thing. But we'll see in August ;)
