You never cease to amaze me with how in depth and well made your guides are. Gives me flashbacks to 3rd strike Yun guides with how in depth you go and how long, but fruitful they are. You're goated
This is super informative and pretty entertaining haha, thanks. Also, I don’t know if you have this one, but if you drive rush and counter hit your opponent with ST HP, you can combo into charged flicker. I mostly do this when I think the opponent will block my drive rush, so it’s kind of an option select because if they block I get pressure/flicker mind games but if they get hit I can convert. Probably not the best strat but it’s fun to do
Ah yes, it does actually have good use. For example, after level 3 when you drive rush at them for the knockdown pressure. I should get that in there on the next revision.

just subscribed today because i was looking to pick up ed and you already had a ton of videos for him so this is cool to see. i probably won’t try to memorize this stuff, but it’s good for getting a general idea of ed’s combo structure. i just wanna hit a level 2 combo in game though lol. anyway i’ll definitely give this a look soon hope you keep making videos like this
If you're starting out i definitely wouldn't recommend watching it all at once, haha. Good to just take it at your own pace and check out sections/videos that cover what you're currently learning or want to learn.

I started play SF6 recently and no one from the cast drew my attention...until i found your channel and your guides. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!! And i really wanted to know: what buttons should i use to drive rush in when opening up my opponents? Or Ed's command dash makes drive rushes on knockdown useless?
Thanks for the kind words. It's more-so that Ed's drive rush buttons aren't so good compared to other characters, but they can still be alright. Drive rush stand jab is the best if you're close enough to do it. Further than that you can do stuff like sMP, sHP or even cMK
I don't have any written down, unfortunately. But if you're having trouble working out certain combos feel free to comment/replay here with the time stamp and I'll gladly let you know what the notation is.
I haven't watched the entire video yet but there is an ed desync combo that I don't see very often and would love to see expanded on: the desync combo where you OD blitz but delay SA2 by 1 frame (instead of launching it at the 1st active frame of the last OD blitz hit, you do it at the 2nd active frame); this allows you to bounce only once on the ball instead of the usual twice, and opens up new routes (I see this often used by momochi)
@@NezsFGC Ah I see ! I actually went to momochi's stream to ask about it, and he explained it this way: OD blitz has 3 active frames. If you cancel on the 1st frame (what everyone usually does), you get 2 bounces If you cancel on the 2nd frame, you get 1 bounce without having to microwalk into heavy blitz (just heavy blitz does it) If you cancel on the 3rd frame, you have to microwalk before H. blitz to get 1 bounce. After a lot of execution on my side I still have an issue with the followup which is that I seem to get the 2nd bounce too far away from myself to follow it up with a heavy upper normally...

@@NezsFGC In my own experience, independently of which active frame you cancel into level 2 from, when you do enough of a microwalk you can get the single bounce but it's only when you cancel from the 2nd or 3rd active frame that you can convert into a viable combo. These routes really do need extensive testing!
awesome video but still confused on how to hit confirm the crouch light kick into medium dp, do I just buffer while the clk is displaying and press medium punch based on whether it's a hit or not? Not quite consistent with the method, lack of practice perhaps?
@@NezsFGC When I try to hit confirm the clk into medium dp combo, the medium dp doesn’t come out consistently, at first I thought it was one of the combos that the system does the hit confirm process for you and you just mash medium dp every single time you do a clk, but there were times where I medium dped on block and got ferociously molested. I’m just confused on how to consistently hit confirm the combo as the canceling window seems quite narrow.
@@kiro333 Ah i get you. Just gotta be faster with the DP input, I believe. It should always work. shortcut input of down-forward, down, down-forward can make it easier.
I don't have any trick personally, just took a bit of practice. But I hear some people say something about waiting for Ed to be at the lowest point of his kill rush or something like that. When he ducks.
It will always cost 3 bars. The trick is doing a tiny forward walk between the first DR sHK and the follow sMP. This allows you to build a tiny bit of drive gauge back mid combo so you get an extra cancel.
Unfortunately I'm not knowledgeable enough. But the good news is Ed is relatively the same from modern to classic when it comes to combos. He's just lacking cLK, cMK and jMK.
