OD flicker allows you to make great damage and open routes both for corner carry, meaty setups, safe jumps etc, with less drive consumption than drive cancel and without the delay penalty in the gauge recovery that comes with drive cancel. So this hit confirm thing is crucial, even more because 5HP + OD flicker is not a true blockstring so its weak to DI. This added that what you already mentioned about kill rush makes Ed probably the most efficient character regarding the drive meter usage.
I play jamie, on CH his sweep it has more animation time, maybe it also applies to other moves. And the floor lights up on CH. Use which you feel more comfortable.
Some tech I discovered that I haven't seen anyone talk about for single hit confirm into super if you're interested: if you input down (tap) then your normal from neutral and immediately tap forward just slightly after the normal, then buffer qcf, you can finish the super input on reaction with one button, or react with the qcf after the hit if you find it easier. Same thing in reverse for qcb supers. @@ObeliskEye ??? op blitz after HP is linking also this has nothing to do with hit confirm. the hit confirm concept is to press a button and after the hit you push another button on reaction. For Ed a big combo is when you hit confirm a counter HP by pushing down medium kick ans od snatcher and dp and heavy blitz which give a safe jump

You could just cancel into blitz directly but it’s a worse position since you’re -3 and in throw range What you’re saying is also a hit confirm but it’s one that much easier to do since

Better to confirm into OD flicker or kill rush with a KK button, otherwise you risk shortening the confirm window by 1f on input error.
