If they hold parry kill rush forward and if you see green you can still kill switch at the end of command dash or if they stay in parry state grab. Tip 5 counter - release heavy punch early baiting drive impact, and or command dash out of it, if your charging, you can still cancel into di as long as you haven’t gotten the charge to the psycho knuckle. Tip 6 counter - ed can backdash in lieu of a walk back shimmy but he’s open to reversals. What Ed’s should be doing is st. Lp to jail after flicker as it’s a 4f then going for strike throw this creates enough space for Ed to just walk out of throw range and can be used to bait counter hit combos with cr. Lp after a walk up. Tip 7 counter- this is generally a good tip against all characters - just reversal on drive rush if you’re getting smothered. If they do a true block string nothing comes out if it’s fake you get to start your offense. But I will say most decent Ed players won’t risk a DRC on block only on a whiff punish and/or in burnout maybe. Most Ed’s will mk into light flicker/psycho spark which both have options to beat drive impact and/or jump. Tip 8 - tru Tip 9 counter - cr. Lk punishes misspaced scissor kick and can get a heavy blitz/DRC combo. Don’t underestimate his cr. Lk. Tip 10 counter - ed is a defensive character in nature so learning wake-up timings to perfect parry meaty Jabs is important as it is a common strategy against him. It also enables him to turn the tides in the corner if they overuse this option 2100 MR Ed here!

A look at the Topanga matches and how this is shaping the Japanese pros views on the game. Kobayan, Hikaru and Hibiki all qualified, Momochi was beasting with Ed, Kakeru with Bison and Ryukichi snuck in with Ken / Cammy. This suggests that the game is pretty well balanced. But I'd love to know what the Japanese players think and why as it's really notable to me how they play the game very differently to the Western scene.

Cancelling into lvl 2 or 3 from od flicker is super hard (at least for me). You can also do OD spark. If they look for yellow they'll get smoked.
