Katsuo and Kombu is the best noodle shop in SF (and a pretty good contender for best eatery overall, imo). Beyond the delicious food, they bring a charming Japanese courtesy to their work; I've visited to Japan thrice and Katsuo and Kombu hold their own against any of those official udon shops. It's a blessing to have my office two blocks from their location; I only wish they were open at lunch (and perhaps offered one or two more veggie options)
