Tony has provided us with a ton of entertainment over the years and sacrificed his physical and mental health for it. It's a shame he doesn't get the respect he deserves from the UFC.
@@ilovetheatfeveryone he fought apart from RDA were either walking Ls or journeymen. WHEN he finally came up against elite fighters it showed he didn’t belong there. He will get humiliated by Chandler, I can guarantee you this. The UFC basically gave Chandler this fight as a tune up to boost his moral.
This is the first time I've sat through an entire press conference of his, and I have to say, this guy comes across as very intelligent with a lot of alacrity. He seems very in the moment and conscious of where he is and what he needs to do in the moment. Not sure if he's always been like this, but his energy here is almost infectious; he also comes across as very honorable, diligent, and committed. It's a shame we don't have more people like that in position of leadership roles.
Tony ferguson is a straight g! It took some balls to talk like this and despite the sightly cryptic quotes it's clear what he's really saying about the exploitation of these fighters, all the while potentially risking his job. Mad respect 👊🏾🇬🇧
So what? And you're the type of guy that comments on youtube. He fought the toughest guys in the best division in UFC. Yeah he lost three od his last fights but again, so what? Still one of the most entertaining and charismatic fighters in the history of this sport. But yeah, sitting in front of your computer you will never lose three in a row, that's for sure.
Exactly lol...this guy makes very little sense. He's a warrior but he needs to leave the khabib thing alone. It's not happening in this life. We'll see how he does Saturday
@@socialchum wasn't a good decision. If it is a task for him to cut to 155 as he mentioned when he spoke...it surely depleted him when he had to do it a month or so later when he had to cut again for Justin. It could have been a major factor in him losing
Much love to Tony. Living legend of the fight game. Really hope things go his way and we get an epic fight this Saturday. He seems recovered and organized. Very dangerous additions for his subset of skills.
Tony has had one of the worst times in UFC. He never got a shot at the title, he helped them rebuild the division by taking tough fights after Khabib left. He deserves more from UFC but I know he won't get it
You can tell his college days and competing as a young man really meant alot to him, I hope he talks to a sports phycologist, not for any bad reasons but I think it would help him and his performance
It was his management. Him and Conor were under the same umbrella back then and that fucken agent was only focused on conors rise and put Tony on the back burner.
Why watch tony on his back geting beaten to pulp..he was manhandled by darisuh ..khabib wouldve destroyed tony ... the only way he couldve beat khabib was by a sub off his back..and that WOULD NOT have hapoend
The UFC never did Tony wrong outside of maybe once when they gave McGregor the shot against Khabib over him (and even that was understandable considering the $$$$$) but otherwise it was just bad timing and luck on Tony's part.
The three fights Tony had just before and after Khabib left were massive for the lightweight division. The Gaethje fight gave a younger talent a shot at the belt when Tony really didn’t have to risk the shot against Khabib. Then the Oliveira fight introduced Charlie into the title picture (leading to him becoming champion) and Beneil Dariush becoming much more known by the masses since the fight and is now 1 big win away from staking a title challenge. Tony is a true legend of the game hope he gets the w on Saturday.
u forgot to mention the part that he isn't the best in the world and that's all what is about, tired of these stupid games, u are either the best or not and he clearly is not, can suck balls on the sidelines
This is what ppl don't factor in when talking about abysmal fighter pay. These are the types of fights that shape a division and build star power. Even though he lost those fights, it was a huge win for whoever he was fighting opposite of as well as the UFC and their bottom line. The general argument can be made that even if someone isn't a big name yet and they are fighting a fan favorite or a prospect, the former should be compensated well because they are helping to build the brand of the latter fighter and by extension, the company. They for damn sure will be used in the highlight reel material even if on the losing end.
Why do we love Tony? This is why. You can't tell me that you didn't feel your heart go:"Yeah!" When Tony said that he thought about the emails from fans all over the world saying he saved their lives. You know you felt it in your heart when Tony said he thought of his son when Oliveira had him in the armbar, and Tony said:"Aight, go 'head break the phukker, cuz I said: I'm going to beat you with it." TONY, DON'T SIGN THE CONTRACT EXTENSION!! SEE WHAT BELLATOR, ONE FC ETC. OFFERS. SEE IF THE PFL WILL LET YOU IN THEIR $1M TOURNAMENT, FIRST!! Dana will just screw you again, man.
Tony is such a fascinating person. One minute he’s telling the most absurd metaphor ever , then he’s monologuing over an emotional experience, and then he’s talking about the company letting him down and it’ll all to be answer one question lol.
@MARQUIS de QUEENSBURY 5.0 I could be wrong, but that could’ve been an attempt to bring the fun side of his personality back to the interview. Asking him something personal, but lighthearted, knowing he’d appreciate the question.
And he listens to classic rock. I could see him puffing a cigar on a private yacht and then strapping on a leather vest and riding a harley through the hills of Florida. The modern mma warrior poet.
Is it really A Tony interview without multiple five minute insane monologue with insane metaphors and crazy life stories? Tony's monologues sound like he is sharing at an NA meeting. 😆
I hate to say this because I really dislike Chandler and I love Tony. But Tony is past his time. He's not the same fighter he was even a cpl years ago. I pray I'm wrong. I wanna see tony stomp this dude
None of the interviewers asked him about his wrestling or standup game and what improvements he made. It was a clear difference in skill level in last of his three fights either it was in jiujitsu, boxing or wrestling. What a shame I was curious to hear more from him but they wanted a prediction. Other than that more power to him for standing his ground. Hope the better man wins.
I swear I was thinking the same thing because I had my own questions I want to ask but at this point all these reporters and interviewers do is ask the same questions to every fighter
It wasnt really a difference in skill level imo the thing that stood out the most was the difference in athleticism. Tony looked so slow compared to both olivera and Dariush. Look at how fast tony moves in the Barbosa fight, specially in the ground and then look at his last fights. Its night ans day.
Ur 100% right. I think Tony woulda beat both of em too. Sadly for the fans we will never see Tony vs Khabib, but there's a chance we could get Tony vs Conor down the road sometime....... if Conor is smart he will avoid that fight tho lol

So, imagine if Gaethje and Tony ferguson win in impression fashion. They might setup a rematch for the title. Gaethje vs. Ferguson part 2. For the past year or so, Tony's been scrambling for answers, trying to understand why he's losing -- and the solution he came up with was to leave his old gym and trainers and seclude himself, with only a few faithful believers to help him. Seems like a bad recipe for a guy with mental problems. And certainly it hasn't helped his attitude. I think a stable and confident Chandler walks right through him.
@@polarvortex3294 I mean he was his own head coach through all of his success and listening to a team through his losses. However chandler has and would lose to everyone Tony has lost to. To be fair.
@@icecoldchilipreppers I think you explained things well to me. Thank you. Certainly it'll be a great victory for whoever gets their hand raised -- and if it's Tony it will be unreal. I mean, imagine the news conference after that! It's a very tough sport, though, for older guys on a losing streak at the very top. They fight and squirm and often change camps. But the number that've been able to figure things out, turn things around and make a fresh run can be counted on one hand. Usually they lose some small edge and hit a wall and sink into oblivion -- like Dos Santos or Faber or a million other guys who were once feared killers. A golfer can lose for 6 years straight, pull out a win, and be a national hero for a day. A batting champ can fade down to a 270 average and still be useful. A fighter could end up dead with a downward streak like that, or be fighting at the carnival for peanuts. Dana made that fight 3 times. How is that on Dana? It was just pure bad luck. Tony destroying his knee, the pandemic, etc.

For the past year or so, Tony's been scrambling for answers, trying to understand why he's losing -- and the solution he came up with was to leave his old gym and trainers and seclude himself, with only a few faithful believers to help him.
