Just on the bit about metahumans being complex, are there examples of where someone has used basic 3D model faces (similar to an actor's appearance) and then applied realism using deepfake software as a post process?

It'll end up with mediocre visuals.
I mean for eg just look at Godzilla design quality between Godzilla 2014 and Godzilla 2024.
