The campaign video highlights the fact Trump is the first president in over a century to not have a dog at the White House.

Depends on the dog...I had a huskey that could read people like a poker player...2 incidents...of many...guy that lived up the street...used to beat his wife...then would walk down and try to give an excuse for the screaming was always her fault...when the cops would go up and she would never press charges...Nakoda would not...not let him in the yard...she broke 2 chains on different occasions when he approached bear teeth and fluff like a grizzly...but pad like a puppy when the neighbors kids come down to play in the snow with her...he's dead now... a horse he had kicked him...he used to beat the horse...he died later of other complications...one of my exs had a miscarriage...Koda didn't like her overly...😅 she used to tear the crotch out of her Jeans...she wanted to be alpha female...for a week she would not leave her side...depends on the dog and the owner...

I understand what this quote is saying. Like, your own dog doesn't look at you judging you. Your own dog just loves you. But to add what to other have said, I have a 13yr old female pitbull who loves just about everyone&who ESPECIALLY LOVES KIDS, she is honestly the sweetest ball of love and cuddles I've ever had-anyway, in our 12yrs of having her I have never seen her really dislike anyone or react badly to anyone, at most she'll just ignore someone, so we just moved into our new house earlier this year this year right abt 1mth into quarantine. It was a nice day & I had let her out front into the fenced in part of the yard while I was gardening. I noticed she was acting weirdly distressed, or upset, pacing along the fence and focusing across the street. About 45secs later the neighbor came out of his house, yelling and screaming at his 5yr old, repeatedly hitting him&dragging the child by the arm. Needless to say I was completely shocked, but my dog...she was NOT HAVING IT. She immediately went straight to the edge of our fence&started barking LOUDLY, looking back& forth at me & the man, charging at the fence and then standing completely still at attention, not taking her eyes off this man. From that day on, every time he comes outside while she is out there, she barks. A LOT. And Idk if she's barking bcuz he's a mean abusive jerk & she knows he's a threat, or If she's barking as a way to signal to me, to protect us. Either way, she saw that man acting aggressive just that one time and she has never forgotten it. She also barks at one other man who sometimes walks down our street- idk what it is about him, but she DOES NOT like him. So I take that as a sign 🤷🏻♀️ they might not "judge" but they have excellent instincts
The people I know that don't like dogs are selfish and unable to care for a house plant, let alone another living animal.
If Trump did have a dog the left would knock him for spending time with it. All of their commercials are either non-sensical anyway. Or lies, or both.

The way we view and the way we treat other living things says a lot about who we are as people. No, you don't have to be a dog lover to be a good person, or a good leader for that matter. But being able to bond and connect with other living things, and to show love, compassion, dedication, and care for those weaker or more vulnerable than you are all huge traits that are incredibly important in a leader.
