Have one more question. That bung king crash bar..I notice it doesn’t have the tab with the crown on it. Did you cut it off? Or which one do you have. I don’t want that crown emblem if I can avoid it
I just made this choice ; went with a 2016 Low Rider S. Very low miles and only modifications done to it were a new seat and passenger foot pegs added. Costs as much as a new one, but after hopping on the two I enjoyed my time on the Dyna more
Luckily they have a quick add on for cruise control for the 2020s...like $300 or so, just plug and play from the dealer. But I use my cruise control regularly on my 2016 FXDLS
Thanks for the video 2020 all day for me mines built and at speeds over 220km the old girl won’t hang Handling is key for me Have both platforms enjoy them both can’t beat innovation Thanks again for your video
Love the M-8 engine in my FLHTCU, but that Twin Cam sounds amazing! A Hell Yeah!!! for dual disc brakes! Anyone who rides a heave performance bike knows that stopping becomes very important with those bikes. I’ve boiled the brake fluid on an 02 Vulcan 1500 Classic because of the single disc brake and inadequate engine braking. It sucks to loose brakes in the mountains.
FXDLS Brooklyn I learned a few lessons that day. Stainless Steel brake lines going on the lil Iron 883 with new bars and heated grips. Luckily, it has decent engine braking like the larger Harleys. The Ultra Classic might get SS lines but it doesn’t brake that badly for a 900 pound behemoth.
new 2020 frame design with mono shock & inverted front forks is vast improvement of the old dyna setup IMO. Stage III the M8 & it'll rip ur eyeballs back... 🔥🤟
FXLDS , we met last year @pops on Kent/Franklin... my buddy had the black and I have the silver 2020s.... I’ve since added a S&S 475 cam... that alone brings back that old school “lope” and puts the bike over 100hp... it gives the M8 a whole different character... come back to the “Burg” and take a listen. Good content in this vid. Both are great bikes...one shows good taste and style since 2016... and one shows good style and taste in 2020 (with about $6K and not having to try and shop around for a used 2016) stay safe out there!
What's up man! Was great meeting you that day - What a great establishment Pops is, I hope they're doing ok during these crazy times. But yeah man, if you ever want to link up hit me up! Would be great to get a ride in and hear that Cam!
Such a hard decision and one that I just made. I could off had either, I test road the new Softail Low Rider S and it was amazing. My current bike is a 2006 Softail with the 88B engine, it was quite an upgrade. But I found a mint 2016 Dyna LRS in perfect stock condition for a deal I couldn't walk away from. So money was a factor saving at least 7k by buying the Dyna. Dealerships, wouldn't budge off MSRP and with all the dealership fees, and taxes it really pushed me towards the Dyna. I haven't put many miles on it yet, but the Dyna has the nostalgic feel with the shake and I am a big fan of the TC engine. I do like the bars on the new Lowrider S and rear fender but I couldn't justify spending thousands more on it. I have a gut feeling that the Dyna LRS will become something of a collector bike for Harley, two year run and last of the Dynas. Harley killed off the Dyna line with a bang by making this bike a real working man's hotrod!!
I'm here because I'm at this choice right now. I'm leaving my 48 that served me to take confidence with bikes and now I'm finally going for a low rider s which was my first target. Here in Italy a Dyna 2016 or a Softail 2021 S in the used market cost the same... so it's not a money choice either. It's a really difficult choice.
@@MrPedham Hi, I bought the Softail, I had it for one year and I've done 4500km with it. I sold it two days ago though. I sold it because it was too expensive for me and too difficult to manage in the city, very high fuel consuming, very hot, too big to pass through cars. If I could I'd switch back to my 48. BUT that's my experience and for my needs it was too much. I'm going to buy a budget bike, like Yamaha Tracer 7 or 9 or Suzuki V-Strom. I'm still thinking about it. Cheers

Money not being the issue the cruise control is what made me keep my 17 fxdls over trading in for a 2020 low rider s. If you pound miles nothing is better. Inverted forks are nice on the 20, but with a good front setup on the dyna it’s more than enough.

I tested the New 2020 model “S” as well as the other softtails and really enjoyed the ride..it was smooth, fast and easy to handle however felt it sounded like a Go-cart. @@mikeessary4925 ohh the bike also pulls to the left lol
To bad they took away even more with 2021. lost hydraulic clutch and they only give one key fob. Just did a 300mile trip and cruise control is going to be a must next spring. And risers for sure!
It used to have a hydraulic clutch?
@@FXDLSBrooklyn Yes a lot of HD models lost hydraulic clutch for 2021 model year.
You can put cruise on the 2020 for the cost of the switch and an update to the bcm.
Yeah man! Do you think it's worth it?
FXDLS Brooklyn once you have cruise you won’t want a bike without it.
Both great models, but would choose 20 FXLRS due to the stiffer frame and the inverted front suspension...hopefully MoCo adds an FXRT fairing to it in 21.
That would be insane if they did that!
I would pick... the Dyna’s mama... the Softail LRS’ grandma... the FXR!
Me too 💯
They do look just like my Biltwell high trackers
Put a full rear fender on the Dyna and that'd be the bike for me!
I hear you on that one!
The Dyna is best hands down, theres not a softtail made that could even get close
Have you ridden any of the new models yet?
You need to steal his fork though lol
I prefer the sound of the dyna by far, would definitely prefer my fxdls had dual front disc's though
Both models have dual disk, definitely something I always want as well!
Smart content. Love both
Thanks Ameer, I'm with you on that one!
The big twin sounds twice as better and i have the 2022 street bob customed out
What size windshield is on the road warrior

How can you do a comparison and not compare performance?
To lead into future 😎 - Stay tuned!
Solid detailed video!
Thanks J - how's things out by you?
Dyna Lowrider S 2017 , best ever 💪💪👌
🏁 ⚡️
I like the Softail LRS because it has mid-controls.
Same!
@@FXDLSBrooklyn I have a 2020 Softail Standard. I've put on a brown Saddlemen Renegade solo seat, mustache engine guard, Memphis Shades cafe fairing, and Firebrand loose cannon slip-ons.
Dyna straight up!!
🏁 ⚡️
You can have cruise control installed at the dealership.
Any idea how much that would run cost wise?
@@FXDLSBrooklyn The cruise control kit costs $250.
I love the Softail Low Rider S, but definitely i still choose Dyna Low Rider S for ride
I still need to test ride the softail version!
That twinkie sounds way better
It's my preference, however, I do have love for those M8s!
twin cams have more lift in cams,m8 have ridiculous mild cam from the factory.i put a power cam now it idles beautiful.put cams with lots of duration and you will get the harley sound at idle.
Nice man! Which cam did you use?
@@FXDLSBrooklyn i put the factory power cam, why.because nobody does research like the factory.we always have to remember, yes some cams give more power, but for the street and evryday riding the factory knows what their doing.cause at the end of the day we are not at the dragstrip.
Big Twin with Fab 28 sounds way better. But still wonder how the milwaukee would sound with a fab 28.
My buddy has a 2019 roadglide with a cam and fab28 and it sounds amazing! Best sounding m8 that has come through my HD shop.
Yeah I have to agree, any M8 I've seen with it sounds amazing.
frincon75 see my reply to Paul Negren above as it pertains to FAB28. BLUF - Stay away from that company unless you like piss-poor customer service and the potential of being scammed.
What are those crash bars called?
Bung King
@@FXDLSBrooklyn thank you
They do have cruise control option...I have it
How much extra was it?
Actually From a Mechanical and Performance point the Softail is a Better bike..Not to mention Power wise ,, Smoothness , Looks and Reliability.. Your Dyna Sounds Better However. Can't beat the 4 valves and Cooling ,,single cam Along other Advantages on the FXLRS 2020
I know, I really need to put some miles on one - regardless, I hope HD never stops making that bike
If money was no object I’d own both, but since I can only owe one I got the 2020.
Right on - what aspects of the 2020 won you over?
FXDLS Brooklyn the M8 114 is a beast just waiting to be unrestrained for one and the inverted front forks along with the styling of the bike. I still love dynas and one day I want to get a FXDLS so I can have both. The Lowrider S in either the softail or the dyna floormat are the best bikes Harley besides the FXR.
I have 20 LRs n added CC. Lol... love my bike but kick stand suxs though... miss my dyna ks.
What's wrong with the kickstand?
If money weren't a thing, I'd buy the 2013 Fat Boy. No rubber mounted engine will give you that classic Harley ride
There's nothing like the classic Terminator 2 bike
Stage 2 really wakes that 114 up.
That's what I've heard - and I've ridden a stock 114 before and it definitely rips out of the box!
M8 is really great with less heat tho. Either ways love em both but I own 2020 low rider s
Yeah they've grown on me a lot!
@@FXDLSBrooklyn I really felt the difference when I moved down to florida couple years ago and when I switched to low rider. Wayyyy less heat hand mo powuh! Hahaha
They both are big twins, the 2016 has a Twin Cam.
Yeah my fact checker is still on vacation, sorry we missed that one!
i also need curse control
It's worth the investment if you put in the miles
The Milwaukee 8 and Twin Cam are both big twins. The sportsters are the harleys that wouldn't be considered big twins
Facts
Your bike murders that bike
Dyna bro... I could be biased though :)
We're definitely biased, that's why I try to really consider it objectively.
I think the twin cam sounds better than the M8 but I also think the Evo sounds better than both of them
Agreed, love my evo
Full fender=downgrade
Don't @ me.
Really? You dig the chopped over the full?
@@FXDLSBrooklyn yezzir. The light sticking out just looks like a male part to me :(
It's cool to scrape with wheelies. But it just looks cleaner to me
I think the short fender looks much better. May be a west coast thing.
Dyna...All day long!
Definitely love mine for sure! Have you ridden any of the 2020s?
Def 2016 Low Rider S if money isn’t an Issue
Yeah man, definitely holding on to mine! How've you been Marvin?
Yeah I had an opportunity to pickup the low rider s at the time I got my lowrider but my girl convinced me that I should be different and get the regular low rider and customize it to my liking..love my bike but if I had to trade it in for Dyna or soft-tail low rider s, you can’t beat that dyna grunt lol
FXDLS Brooklyn doing good btw, in this lock down still but I get my bike out here and there..not as much as I’d like but I’m content for now lol
I would get the Dyna
How come?
@@FXDLSBrooklyn The classic rear shock setup, the tank/gauges looks better, the bobbed rear fender, the thicker spokes on the mags, most importantly the way it sounds. I know that the Softail has a more rigid frame, inverted forks and the M8 but it's still not enough to draw me away from the character of the Dyna
Note: I do have a 17 FXDB and I just love the way the unbalanced twin shakes. It makes me smile just looking at it bounce around when I turn it on
No question that the 2020 Low Rider S is a better machine in every way
I think they for sure are moving in a good direction on that one - thanks for checking it out Chris!
My dads 2020 Low Rider S has Cruise Control.
Any idea how much it ran him to install it?
FXDLS Brooklyn came like that
Still like your bike better!
You got a twin cam. They're both big twins 😉
The m8 get more 0
Yeah I know, my fact checker was on vacation
The dyna is way better then the soft tail 🤷🏻♂️
It's definitely what I'm sticking with, however, inverted forks are attractive.
@@FXDLSBrooklyn it’s one hell of a bad ass ride
Ride safe out there
Keep up the great content 🤙🏼
Not trying to be a smart ass but the 2020 doesn’t come with a lay down plate homie
Thanks G
2020 lowrider s👌🏻
How come?
@@FXDLSBrooklyn sorry to butt in but single cam is less engine heat double cams means more heat
I would pick the Dana.
How come?
@@FXDLSBrooklyn I think it's more beautiful. The best looking bike (on stock) HD has ever made, in my eyes. I wished I had bought one back in 2017.
